Deron Williams feeling great; Dirk Nowitzki goes through shootaround
An update on our earlier alert – Williams told local media he is feeling great and is ready to go against Portland tonight while Nowitzki took part in the team shootaround. It’s certainly an upgrade for both in terms as to whether they will play or not but there’s still cause for concern. We’ll continue to keep an eye on this situation as the day progresses.

Devin Harris OUT; Dirk Nowitzki and Deron Williams questionable
The Dallas Mavericks have released that Devin Harris is out while Dirk Nowitzki and Deron Williams are questionable. Harris was expected out as he is eyeing a mid-November return. Yesterday Mavericks Head Coach Rick Carlisle stated that Deron Williams was highly questionable lending us to believe that he won’t play and making J.J. Barea and Seth Curry viable DFS options tonight. Nowitzki is a tougher call and one we’ll have to monitor closely heading into tip off. We’ll keep you updated as we get more information on the future Hall-of-Famer.

The 7th overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft, Jamal Murray will get his first start tonight in place of the injured Will Barton. With Barton and Gary Harris sidelined, this could be a great opportunity for Murray to showcase his skills. Jameer Nelson should also see some minutes at the Shooting Guard position. Both guards are deep GPP fliers considering their cheap price tag across the industry.

Jae Crowder expected to be out two weeks
According to coach Brad Stevens, Crowder will miss at least the next two weeks with a sprained ankle. In his absence, Jaylen Brown should continue to be the Celtics’ starting small forward depending on matchup. Marcus Smart and the frontcourt rotation should see also see a substantial boost in minutes, as Crowder spent a decent amount of time at the power forward position in small-ball lineups.

Jaylen Brown starting for the injured Jae Crowder
Brown will draw the start tonight at small forward against Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Though, Brown is “starting”, we should expect to see plenty of three-guard lineups consisting of Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley, and Marcus Smart. Brown is certainly worth a tournament flier given his price around the industry, but our expectations remain low in a difficult matchup.

Parker has already been listed as out for tomorrow night’s game against the Jazz with a sore knee. Patty Mills should draw the start in his place with Nicolas Laprovittola coming off the bench as the primary backup point guard. Mills will almost certainly find himself in cash game consideration on Friday.

Casspi missed the Kings’ last two games with an apparent illness, but has been upgraded to probable for this evening’s contest against Orlando. Casspi hasn’t factored in to the Kings rotation as of yet with Rudy Gay and Matt Barnes dominating minutes on the wing. He was averaging fewer than 10 minutes per game prior to the illness, so we shouldn’t expect his presence to affect the fantasy outlook of any Kings players tonight.

Vasquez has missed the last two games and continues to be out for Friday. Isaiah Whitehead will likely be used as the backup PG, but has a chance to start. We don’t have the salaries yet but Whitehead should still be in the salary basement across the industry. He does not have to do much to exceed value and should be a fine option if he can play 24+ minutes. The Nets get a tough matchup against the slow-paced Hornets tomorrow, lowering everyone’s ceiling.

The Warriors will travel to Los Angeles after their game tonight, and they’re the only team tasked with playing the second-half of a B2B tomorrow. They are the biggest favorites on the board at -10, so it is feasible that Steve Kerr eases up on his starters later on in the 4th quarter if this game isn’t in serious jeopardy. Boston and Oklahoma City are the only two teams playing on the second leg of a B2B, although the viable fantasy options on those squads don’t seem to be in any danger of seeing a reduced workload barring a blowout. Jae Crowder’s absence should lead to a nice minutes bump for Marcus Smart, while Tyler Zeller will continue starting for Al Horford. Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley and Amir Johnson are all squarely in play. As for OKC, Russell Westbrook remains the top overall play on the board in his first head-to-head meeting with Kevin Durant.
Randy Foye probable for Friday
With Jeremy Lin out for at least two weeks, the Nets point guard situation will be one to watch closely tomorrow night. Sean Kilpatrick carries the most upside among the potential replacements, but he’s better utilized as a two-guard and it would be a little surprising for him to see a ton of run at the PG spot with Foye and Isaiah Whitehead around. Foye has the most past experience at the position and given that he’s still priced around the minimum on most DFS sites, he’s well worth a look as a GPP punt play and would be viable in any format if he were to draw the start at PG. The Nets rotation at the guard spots should remain fluid, but Foye and Kilpatrick are the top two options at the moment.

Mozgov was not able to play last night against the Hawks but did not have a fracture or concussion and should be in the lineup soon enough. Ivica Zubac started in his place and played 19 minutes picking up 4 fouls against Dwight Howard. Zubac is a risky option against the Warriors on Friday because of the expected tempo of that game. Tarik Black played 16 minutes off the bench and is also too risky for Friday. The Lakers can easily go small and use Julius Randle at the 5 and Larry Nance or Luol Deng at the 4. Look for another update tomorrow because the Lakers could change their starting lineup again.

Jeremy Lin suffered a strained hamstring last night and will miss the next two weeks. He will be evaluated again after the two weeks and his status will be decided then. Sean Kilpatrick stepped up in a huge way when Lin went down. Putting up 24 points and 10 rebounds with other stats for a strong 47 DKFP showing. He only played 28 minutes and was highly efficient. With Randy Foye expected back in the lineup and a salary jump expected, Kilpatrick will only be a viable GPP option and too risky for cash games.

The Hornets have announced that Hibbert will miss another game Friday. Cody Zeller and Spencer Hawes are the biggest beneficiaries of this news.

Mavericks Head Coach Rick Carlisle stated that Deron Williams was highly questionable to play Friday against the Trail Blazers with his lingering groin injury. The point guard averages well over 30 minutes a game when he plays so that’s a big bump for the likes of J.J. Barea and Seth Curry if he can’t go. Both would be excellent options against a Trail Blazers team that doesn’t defend the PG position very well.

The Nuggets Head Coach stated today that while he thinks Chandler could probably play some at SG he doesn’t think he’d be comfortable doing it. It appears unlikely that his role would change much so expect him to play somewhere in the 30 minute range, where he’s been for all three games so far this season (30, 30, 31 minutes in the first three). Jamal Murray is likely the biggest beneficiary from the Nuggets injury situation at SG and is in play as a punt option against the Timberwolves on this five game slate.
