Andrew Bogut OUT tonight for Golden State
Bogut was already unlikely to play today and that’s been confirmed by the team now. Brandon Rush will likely get the start in his place but he’s a very risky DFS option even going in a game that has a huge total (over 230). Rush scored 15.6 FanDuel fantasy points in 27 minutes against the Spurs on Saturday. One thing is for sure, however, and that is the Timberwolves are not the Spurs – so there is some merit to using Rush as a punt at a weak SG position.

Pau Gasol does shootaround; is game-time decision tonight
The Bulls big man took part in shootaround and will be a game-time decision when they take on the Sacramento Kings tonight. If he is able to go, he’ll be on a minutes limitation which will make it tough to roster him for DFS purposes at his price tag. His return would also be a downgrade for Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler as their usage goes way up when Gasol does not play. We’ll update you on Gasol’s status later today.

Love is under the weather and missed the team shootaround this morning. He is considered questionable for their game tonight against the Nuggets. It’s a prime match up for Love if he is able to go as the Nuggets have struggled routinely against PF’s all season (25th in PF DvP). Channing Frye has gotten the starting nod in the past when Love has sat and would be the likely candidate to do so again if Love can’t play. Frye, when given playing time, has put up excellent numbers for his price point. The last three games he’s played 20 or more minutes he has put up at least a fantasy point per minute. He’d definitely be in play as a punt option at just $3,600 on both FanDuel and DraftKings if he was to get another start. We’ll update you on Love’s status throughout the day as we hear more.

There was hope Faried would be able to play today when the Nuggets take on the Cavaliers but the team has announced that he is again out. They also stated that Nurkic and Lauvergne were both probable. No one in the Nuggets front court is in play going up against a Cavaliers defense that is 1st in PF and C DvP in the league.

Jose Calderon will start against the Kings on Sunday. Sasha Vujacic, Arron Afflalo, Kristaps Porzingis, and Robin Lopez will round out the starting five. All Knicks players should see a considerable bump with Anthony out of the lineup. Afflalo will likely be owned more than usual due to the news of Anthony missing coming out so early. Kristaps Porzingis will be the sleeper on the Knicks even though he played 38 minutes last night.

Willie Cauley-Stein (illness) ruled out for Sunday
Willie Cauley-Stein will miss Sunday’s contest with the Knicks due to an illness. This will be his second consecutive game missed due to the illness. Quincy Acy will likely continue to start in his place but is not recommended as a DFS option. Acy does not score enough and has only exceeded value once in the last nine games.

Carmelo Anthony has been ruled out and Arron Afflalo will start in his place. Afflalo gets a juicy matchup against the Kings and should be used in tournaments. While he does pose some risk due to his low floor, Afflalo should see over 35 minutes again tonight.

Arron Afflalo is expected to start if Carmelo Anthony is ruled out. Afflalo is a tournament option only due to the fact his production is volatile even when given minutes. Afflalo has played 35 minutes in back-to-back games and gets an elite matchup with the Kings tonight. Look for an update on Anthony’s status soon.

Jose Calderon is available to play even though he injured his ankle last night. Langston Galloway is a viable punt play for the late and is averaging 22.78 DKFP over his last five games. Even with Calderon available, expect him to be limited. If there is a change in his status we will update it.

The Pelicans are really without a ton of options offensively at this point with Eric Gordon and Tyreke Evans already ruled out for the season, Ryan Anderson and Norris Cole ruled out Sunday, and now Anthony Davis ruled out for the season as well. This leaves Jrue Holiday as the main option on offense for the Pelicans with Toney Douglas playing a significant role in the offense too. In our RotoGrinders CourtIQ tool we can see that Holiday has an absurd 46% usage rating when all of those guys are out. He also boasts a rating of 1.37 DK points per minute in that time. Granted the sample size is quite small, just over 26 minutes, but obviously Holiday is going to have his fingerprints all over this game. If he hits his mark of 1.37 DK points per minute, that means he only has to play 29 minutes to reach value. We definitely expect Holiday to exceed that mark because they are running very thin on players at this point. The Pelicans really have nowhere else to go for offense and expect Holiday to have a big game as he will have to shoulder the load for New Orleans.

Jeff Green officially ruled out
Jeff Green has been ruled out due to concussion-like symptoms. Paul Pierce will likely start in his place with Wes Johnson his backup. Johnson has the higher ceiling but has been struggling lately. Johnson also adds defensive stats, making him more appealing than Pierce. Johnson should only be used in tournaments and is not suggested for cash games.

The Pelicans will start Jrue Holiday and Toney Douglas in the backcourt with Omer Asik, Dante Cunningham, and Luke Babbitt rounding out the frontcourt. Jrue Holiday draws a tough matchup with Chris Paul but will likely see over 35 minutes with the Pelicans so depleted.

Jeff Green might play against the Pelicans on Sunday but is still a risky DFS play. Green is averaging only 13.4 DKFP over his last four games. With the Clippers facing the Pelicans, Green could use an easy matchup to get back on track. Green has averaged 28.26 DKFP in three games this season, making him a tournament option only.
