Clint Capela (hip) and Montrezl Harrell (illness) both questionable for tonight

Clint Capela is now being listed as questionable for tonight’s game against the Heat. Capela was designated as the starter with Dwight Howard suspended but now it will be a game-time decision. With Montrezl Harrell also questionable the Rockets will likely have to go small and start Terrence Jones or Josh Smith at C. The Rockets also have Donatas Motiejunas listed as out for tonight which could lead to a ton of minutes for whoever starts. Hopefully, we get an update before lineups lock, but also have your options ready on DraftKings for a late swap.

T.J Warren out for the season with a broken foot

T.J. Warren will miss the rest of the season with a broken foot. This will mean more time for the likes of Mirza Teletovic, Sonny Weems, and even Markieff Morris. The Suns are an injured mess right now and have been constantly changing their lineups. The only constant has been P.J. Tucker, who is averaging 36.8 minutes over his last five games. Tucker saw 42 minutes this past Sunday but had minimal impact, scoring just 2 points and grabbing 5 rebounds. Tucker should be able to bounce back from that tonight against the Raptors and is a solid mid-range option.

Tiago Splitter out on Wednesday

Tiago Splitter has been ruled out of Wednesday’s contest with a hip injury. Mike Muscala was able to see 17 minutes in his absence on Monday and was able to make a slight DFS impact (18 FPs on DK). Muscala had 6 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, and 6 fouls. Muscala has seen over 20 minutes only twice this season and scored in double figures in only one of those games. Muscala’s upside is limited and he is nothing more than a low-end option on an eleven-game slate on Wednesday.

Tim Duncan (knee) ruled out for Wednesday

Tim Duncan will miss another game with his knee injury and no timetable has been given for his return. The Spurs have started David West, Boris Diaw, and Kyle Anderon in Duncan’s absence but none of them have stood out. With Popovich, we can’t really know who he will start against the Pelicans but could go with David West to combat the size of Anthony Davis.

Ian Mahinmi ruled out for Wednesday

Ian Mahinmi has been ruled out for Wednesday’s game with the Nets. This was the prevailing thought in our last alert on Mahinmi – Jordan Hill remains a very solid value target with Mahinmi out, while Myles Turner should continue to log big minutes as the starting PF. Rostering them both together is a viable option in any format tomorrow.

Kevin Garnett, Nikola Pekovic ruled out Tuesday

Both Kevin Garnett and Nikola Pekovic will miss Wednesday’s game against the Lakers. While he’s going to be extremely popular, Karl-Anthony Towns is in a great spot tonight against a Lakers team that ranks near the bottom of the league against the center position. Towns has been filling it up of late and likely won’t slow down tonight – he’s a core play in any format. Playing the GPP fade makes some sense considering you can pivot to his cheaper counterpart (Gorgui Dieng) who may end up offering better point per dollar output. Playing them both where it’s possible is a recommended strategy, as each should see upwards of 30 minutes of court time. Kevin Martin is still listed as questionable but sounds unlikely to play tonight.

Ian Mahinmi day-to-day, sounds unlikely to play Wednesday

Ian Mahinmi is being considered day-to-day and it’s sounding like his best shot to return will come on Friday against the Hawks. That means he’s unlikely to play tomorrow against the Nets, which would afford Jordan Hill another chance to start. Hill’s price hasn’t spiked (yet) on either major DFS site, so assuming Mahinmi sits tomorrow, Hill remains a very strong mid-range option. Myles Turner should also continue to see heavy minutes, and he’s also very much in play in any format tomorrow.

Kobe with a '50-50' shot at suiting up on Tuesday

Kobe Bryant has a ’50-50’ shot to suit up tonight according to Byron Scott. Given that the Lakers play in the last game of the night, users on non-late-swap sites may not have this news available before lock. If Kobe is unable to play, the trio of Lou Williams, Jordan Clarkson and D’Angelo Russell should all see a little extra court time, with Williams likely to see the biggest bump in usage. We’ll update Kobe’s status as more information becomes available.

Jameer Nelson ruled out for Wednesday, likely to miss time beyond that

Jameer Nelson is listed as out for Wednesday, and it’s very possible he misses time beyond tomorrow night. Emmanuel Mudiay will continue to see heavy minutes at PG, although he’s not in an attractive spot tomorrow on the road against a slow-paced Jazz team. He’s still a GPP option since his price has remained stagnant for the most part, but he’s not a core option and isn’t a safe cash game option. Gary Harris also benefits from Nelson’s absence indirectly.

Charlotte Hornets injury report for Wednesday's game

The Hornets released their injury report for their game tomorrow against the Cavaliers and Nicolas Batum is doubtful to play. Cody Zeller, Jeremy Lamb, and Kemba Walker are also listed as questionable. We’ll update the status of these four tomorrow when more information becomes available.

Hassan Whiteside OUT tonight

Heat Head Coach Erik Spoelstra stated that Whiteside would miss his sixth consecutive game and that he will stay with Amar’e Stoudemire as the starter even with Dwight Howard also not playing. Stoudemire’s price has risen to $4,200 on FanDuel and $4,400 on DraftKings but he is averaging 25+ FD fpts/game over his last four games as the starter and is worthy of consideration against a Howard-less Rockets team that is one of the worst defenses in the league (28th overall in fantasy points allowed per game).

Dwight Howard suspended for tonights game; Clint Capela to start

The league has suspended the Rockets center after he was ejected in consecutive games. He will sit out tonight’s game against the Heat and Clint Capela will get the start. It’s a tough spot, however, for the Rockets as they face the slow-paced defensive-minded Heat who are 3rd in the league in total fantasy points allowed including 8th against centers and 1st against PF’s, the two spots most impacted by Howard not playing. According to nbawowy, Capela’s usage actually goes down when he plays and Howard is not on the court while James Harden and Terrence Jones see a bump in their usage. When Howard missed three games a few weeks ago, Capela averaged 19.3 FD fpts/game, Jones 14 FD fpts/game (but most of those came in a 31 point outing), while recently acquired Josh Smith was the highest fantasy scorer of the trio at over 22 FD fpts/game. It’s tough to choose between the three – one is likely to exceed value but guessing which one makes it a situation best avoided. Harden, on the other hand, despite the tough match up makes for a very compelling GPP play as he will likely be under owned and his usage (it’s 35 when Howard is not on the court) should be sky high.

Kosta Koufos and Marco Belinelli starting for the Kings

With the Kings so banged up tonight they had to go with a different starting lineup. Kosta Koufos will replace DeMarcus Cousins and Marco Belinelli will replace Ben McLemore. Both Koufos and Belinelli should be able to hit value and are elite punt options tonight.

Boris Diaw starting for Tim Duncan tonight

Boris Diaw will be starting tonight for the injured Tim Duncan. Diaw is a low-end punt option tonight against the Magic. LaMarcus Aldridge should see most of the shot attempts in the post and is a better play tonight. The Spurs will likely blow the Magic out after losing to the Cavs on Saturday.

E’Twuan Moore will be making another start tonight, moving Jimmy Butler over to SF. With the Bulls dealing with multiple injuries they have gone to a lineup change to address the issues. Moore had 10 points and 5 assists against the Clippers last night and is a GPP dart throw tonight.
