Derrick Favors out tonight against the Nets

Favors has been ruled out again with his back injury which means Trey Lyles will start again. Lyles has averaged 27 FPs over his last four contests, which would have him barely exceeding value on his $5k DK salary. Lyles has been getting consistent minutes but is not relied upon for offense with Hood and Hayward on the floor.

Jae Crowder dealing with an illness, but will play on Friday

Jae Crowder is dealing with an illness tonight, but will play. He’s not in an ideal spot against the Bulls, and his illness does bump down his floor and ceiling. With his price having caught up to his level of production, he isn’t as strong of a play as he was before news of his illness broke. If Crowder’s court time is limited, Evan Turner figures to benefit.

Kevin Garnett

Kevin Garnett back in the starting lineup after missing one game

Kevin Garnett will likely start on Saturday after resting for one game. Garnett is not much of a DFS option at this point of his career but with him in the lineup we’ve seen Karl-Anthony Towns take a slight dip in production. KAT is coming off a monster performance but will likely have a hard time against Marc Gasol on Saturday.

Lance Thomas ruled out again with a sore left knee

Lance Thomas has been ruled out again meaning Carmelo Anthony will likely see all the minutes he can handle tonight. The Knicks host the Clippers making Anthony an elite option at SF tonight. Derrick Williams will back him up and should also see about 24-28 minutes unless he struggles.

Kelly Olynyk

San Antonio Spurs

Kelly Olynyk to start for Amir Johnson who is out for personal reasons

Kelly Olynyk will start tonight against the Bulls with Amir Johnson out. Olynyk has averaged 31.18 FPs over his last 4 games and deserves consideration tonight. Olynyk’s salary is only $5k on DraftKings which makes it easy for him to exceed value. Olynyk should see about 30 minutes if he can stay out of foul trouble.

Jeremy Lin and Spencer Hawes confirmed as starters on Friday

Both Nicolas Batum and Cody Zeller have already been ruled out so Jeremy Lin and Spencer Hawes will start in their place. Lin is a viable option tonight against the Magic and should secure about 30 minutes. Lin’s salary makes it easy for him to hit value when he gets over 30 minutes, with a ceiling that is higher tonight due to the fact that most of the Hornets are injured. Spencer Hawes is a tournament play only with rookie Frank Kaminsky being the more consistent option in the frontcourt.

Victor Oladipo starting over Evan Fournier at SG on Friday

Victor Oladipo will be returning to the starting lineup after missing a couple games due to a knee injury. Oladipo will start because Coach Scott Skiles hoped to boost the speed and athleticism of the starting unit. Evan Fournier will come off the bench and is still a solid option but a risky play tonight on such a large slate.

Aaron Gordon

Denver Nuggets
1/22/16, 7:05 PM ET

Aaron Gordon starting for Channing Frye tonight

Aaron Gordon will be starting tonight for the Magic moving Channing Frye to the bench. Gordon has been averaging 8.4 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists in January. Gordon saw 32 minutes on Wednesday against the Sixers and should see about that much tonight against the Hornets. Gordon is a tournament play tonight due to his inconsistencies even when he has received minutes.

Gordon Hayward

Oklahoma City Thunder

Gordon Hayward is an interesting GPP target tonight

The Jazz and the Nets square off tonight in Brooklyn and Gordon Hayward comes into the game in great form. Over the last seven games Hayward has been averaging 42 DK points per game and he gets another great matchup with the Nets tonight. Hayward’s usage has increased quite a bit over the past month with Derrick Favors being sidelined by injury and Hayward has led the team offensively night in and night out. One of the best parts about it is that his price really hasn’t increased all that much for the level at which he has been producing. He sits at only $7,500 on DraftKings and his price has only fluctuated a couple hundred dollars since Favors has been out. Hayward has been consistently seeing minutes in the upper 30s and I would not expect that to change tonight. With a lot of value options on the board tonight, Hayward will likely be pretty low-owned and would be a nice contrarian pick to plug into your GPPs tonight.

Patrick Beverley

Milwaukee Bucks
1/22/16, 6:04 PM ET

Patrick Beverley ruled out for Friday

Patrick Beverley has been ruled out for Friday’s game with the Bucks. He’ll miss a second consecutive game and will likely afford Ty Lawson another chance to start. Lawson is a viable cash game punt play, but his ceiling is somewhat capped by playing next to a ball-dominant guard in James Harden. Jason Terry is listed as questionable for tonight – Lawson’s ceiling would rise a bit if he’s also unable to go.

Larry Nance Jr.

1/22/16, 4:00 PM ET

Larry Nance to be a game-time decision tonight

Larry Nance has been upgraded to a game-time decision tonight against the Spurs. He was able to make it through shootaround tonight which bodes well for his status, but we’ll likely have to wait until after the 7PM roster lock for an official word. If Nance can’t go, Brandon Bass should see around 28-30 minutes of court time and would be the best DFS target among the Laker front-court members. While Julius Randle would start, his playing time doesn’t change much as a result of Nance’s absence and he now has to deal more with opposing starters.

Utah-Washington game for tomorrow postponed due to snow storm

The league isn’t waiting around to deal with certain weather issues tomorrow as they have postponed the Jazz-Wizards game scheduled for tomorrow due to the snow storm that is hitting the area. Most DFS sites should have plenty of time to make sure players are not available to roster but make sure you double check your lineups before hitting submit tomorrow just to be on the safe side.

Dirk Nowitzki a game time decision tonight

Mavericks Head Coach Rick Carlisle stated that their veteran star forward would be a game time decision for the Mavericks game against the Thunder tonight. If he is unable to go, Chandler Parsons would likely see an increase in usage with Charlie Villaneuva probably getting the start in Nowitzki’s place. We’ll update you on his status when we learn more.
