Donald Sloan and Wayne Ellington will start again on Wednesday
Both Nets backcourt players will get another shot tonight to start against the Knicks. Sloan had 2 points and five assists against the Spurs in his last start so look for him to bounce back tonight. Sloan played 24 minutes in the blowout and could possibly see more than tonight if the Nets are able to keep it close. Wayne Ellington also struggled against the Spurs and his production is heavily tied to scoring so he and Sloan are GPP plays only.

Carmelo Anthony (ankle) out on Wednesday
With Melo out, Lance Thomas will likely draw the start at SF, but he’s not a terribly appealing DFS option even with 25-30 minutes of court time. Kristaps Porzingis is the big winner here from a usage/production standpoint, and Arron Afflalo will also see an uptick in usage/shot attempts. Both Porzingis and Afflalo are strong options.

Sefolosha will dress but is unlikely to play tonight against the Hornets. His absence should lead to big playing time for Kent Bazemore, and also affords more time to a guy like Mike Scott (who is not a DFS option). Bazemore is a nice mid range option at SG/SF in any format.

Patrick Beverley (personal) ruled out on Wednesday
Beverley has been ruled out of tonight’s contest due to personal reasons and the starter has not been named yet. Ty Lawson has returned to the team after serving his suspension. Jason Terry started in Beverley’s last absence and played 31 minutes, which should be the most he will play tonight. Lawson played 16 minutes in that same contest but his minutes will be based on if he starts or not. Both Terry and Lawson are GPP only plays tonight with Terry the cheaper player on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Pau Gasol did not travel with the team to Philadelphia so he has been ruled out for Thursday’s contest. Joakim Noah is likely to start in his place. Noah was $5,400 on both FanDuel and DraftKings on Tuesday, when he had 3 points and seven rebounds in 15 minutes of action. Look for a spike in production and salary with Noah pushing over 24 minutes if the Sixers are able to keep it close.

We wrote up Robin Lopez yesterday as a GPP option at center, and much of the same remains today. He reached value on FanDuel and had a decent outing with 15 points and 5 rebounds last night. Tonight the Knicks take on the Nets and yes, that means that Lopez will be matched up against his brother, Brook. If you are into narratives, it doesn’t get much better than this when a player is matched up against his own brother in a little family rivalry! A lot of people will likely be on Brook, but it may be more beneficial to look on the other side of this matchup to lean towards Robin in GPPs. This is actually more than just a narrative street play because quite frankly, Brook plays little to no defense and the Nets have one of the worst defenses vs. opposing centers in the league. Robin would be a solid play regardless of the brother vs. brother matchup, that is just icing on the cake. Robin is more in play on FanDuel at $4,500 but would still make a decent play on DraftKings at $5,000. Robin will likely be less-owned than his brother, but will likely still have a bit of an inflated ownership percentage because of this matchup. Regardless, Robin makes for a solid option at center again tonight if you don’t want to pay up for the likes of Brook or Dwight Howard.
Gerald Green is a value GPP option
Gerald Green has been far from predictable this season and chances are you have been burned by him a couple times this year. However, he has been performing well lately tallying at least 23 FPs in five of his last seven games. He is $4,400 on DraftKings, but is especially appealing at only $4,100 on FanDuel. Goran Dragic has been ruled out of this game against the Clippers, so that should lead to more opportunities and possibly a little more playing time for Green. The Clippers do play pretty good defense against opposing SGs, but at only $4,100 it may be worth a shot on Green in tournaments where his ownership will be fairly low. Green is very inconsistent, but he does have that upside you like to see for GPPs.
Zaza Pachulia will be only active Mavs starter Wednesday
The Mavericks have decided to rest Dirk Nowitzki, Deron Williams, Wesley Matthews, and Chandler Parsons after an overtime game last night. Look for Raymond Felton and J.J. Barea to start in the backcourt for the Mavs, making both players good DFS options tonight. The last time that both Parsons and Nowitzki both sat this season, Justin Anderson and Charlie Villanueva started for them. Anderson and Villanueva were both inactive last night along with Jeremy Evans, so look for all three players to play in tonight’s contest.

Derrick Rose received treatment this morning but did not practice or do any on-court drills. He is traveling with the team to Philly, so he does have a shot to suit up tomorrow. If he’s unable to go, Kirk Hinrich will likely draw the start while Aaron Brooks will pick up most of the responsibility off the bench. Jimmy Butler’s usage rate will also rise and he’ll be the primary ball-handler in crucial situations (if any arise against the lowly Sixers).

Brandon Bass is doubtful to take the floor tomorrow while Kobe Bryant is listed as questionable. Larry Nance played big minutes (37) with Bass out against the Jazz, with Julius Randle also seeing a minutes bump (he saw 27). Nance is a very strong value play with Bass out even in a game where the Lakers may not hang around for long. If Kobe isn’t able to take the floor tomorrow, Lou Williams becomes a very strong target in all formats.

It’s been the same story with Favors for awhile now, but he’ll test his back out in pre-game warmups to see if he’s able to play. With Rudy Gobert back, there isn’t much value to be had with the likes of Trevor Booker, Jeff Withey or Trey Lyles at this point. If Favors sits again, Gordon Hayward and Rodney Hood will continue to lead the offense.

With the Heat playing in a late-game tonight, we likely won’t have word on Whiteside until long after rosters lock. For those on late-swap sites, Chris Andersen would presumably start if Whiteside can’t play, but he’s not a strong DFS option even if that turns out to be the case. Chris Bosh’s rebounding numbers should rise if Whiteside isn’t able to take the court.

Goran Dragic will not play tonight and will miss the rest of the Heat’s road trip. With Dragic out, Dwyane Wade will take over more of the ball-handling duties, but Dragic’s absence opens up plenty of playing time for the likes of Tyler Johnson and Beno Udrih. Johnson is ahead of Udrih in the rotation and has a much higher ceiling, so he’s the play here from a DFS perspective. Udrih may end up being the starter, but Johnson is the stronger play.

We’ll hopefully have a confirmed starter before roster lock, but with this game starting at 9 ET, it’s likely that we won’t know until after 7 ET. Speights and Barnes would be the best case scenario starters for DFS purposes. Speights has a nice offensive game and can be a valuable fantasy contributor when he plays 25+ minutes, especially when he’s sitting at minimum price. Harrison Barnes’ price is also down due to him missing extended time and coming back on a minutes limit, so this could be the spot where he finally exceeds 30 minutes of court time.

Wes Johnson (foot) is listed as probable for tonight. He’s been seeing around 25 minutes per game over his last 7 games and figures to play a similar number tonight against the Heat, although his DFS floor/ceiling is still very low given his lack of usage in the offense. DeAndre Jordan is still listed as questionable tonight, but with a long games played streak on the line (360), it’s more likely he suits up. Cole Aldrich would become a very nice punt play if he were to sit.
