Sony Michel

Los Angeles Rams
10/24/21, 2:40 PM ET

LAR RB Sony Michel officially active Sunday

As expected, Sony Michel is officially active Sunday for the Rams matchup with the Detroit Lions. Michel is expected to continue to serve as the backup to Darrell Henderson in the Rams backfield but both backs could be busy in a game that the Rams will likely be leading the entire time. If Michel were to be limited at all, Henderson would become an even stronger play and Gregory Howell could also see a few carries as well. Henderson is one of the top plays on the slate due to expected volume and game script and should be considered in most formats,

DET WR Trinity Benson, RB Jermar Jefferson, and RB Jason Cabinda inactive Sunday; RB D'Andre Swift and TE T.J. Hockenson officially active

Trinity Benson, Jermar Jefferson, and Jason Cabinda have been listed inactive Sunday and as expected D’Andre Swift and T.J. Hockenson are officially active. Swift and Hockenson figure to be extremely busy in the passing game today in a game they should be playing from behind. Swift is one of the best plays on the slate and Hockenson should have ample opportunities to reach value as well. The players that are inactive were only expected to provide depth if Swift or Hockenson were unable to suit up and have no real DFS relevance.

LVR TE Darren Waller and RB Peyton Barber inactive Sunday

LVR TE Darren Waller and RB Peyton Barber inactive Sunday when the Raiders take on the Philadelphia Eagles. Waller plays a crucial role in the Raiders offense and will be severely missed, Foster Moreau will likely start and see most of the tight end snaps with Matt Bushman (elevated from practice squad yesterday) available to serve as his backup. Moreau instantly becomes one of the top punt value options on the slate with good upside in an offense that normally relies on its tight end as its top pass-catcher. If you were able to keep some late game roster flexibility you have been rewarded with news.

Antonio Gibson

New England Patriots
10/24/21, 11:44 AM ET

WAS RB Antonio Gibson officially active Sunday

As expected, Antonio Gibson will play Sunday against the Green Bay Packers despite two separate shin injuries. Gibson has been able to suit up every week so far this season and this trend will continue in Week 7. If he were to be limited J.D. McKissic and Jaret Patterson could see more work, McKissic seeing most of the passing down work and Patterson the early down work. The split between Gibson and McKissic is even enough where it makes both difficult to play in DFS, and in a tough matchup with the Green Bay Packers it might be best to stay away from this timeshare.

KCC WR Tyreek Hill officially active Sunday

KCC WR Tyreek Hill officially active Sunday when the Chiefs are set to take on the Tennessee Titans. If Hill were to be limited in any way Travis Kelce, Mecole Hardman, and Demarcus Robinson would be the most likely candidates to see extra targets. Hill should still be considered for DFS as he is playing in a game that is expected to be high scoring and even if he is limited, can rack up the points due to how explosive he is with the ball in his hands.

Sterling Shepard

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
10/24/21, 11:49 AM ET

NYG WR Sterling Shepard inactive; WR Darius Slayton, WR John Ross, TE Evan Engram all active Sunday

Darius Slayton, John Ross, and Evan Engram are all available to play Sunday against the Carolina Panthers while Sterling Shepard will not be able to suit up due to a hamstring injury. The Giants will at least have two of their injured receivers available today along with their starting tight end, which is good news in what could be a huge bounce back game for the Giants. However, with Shepard unable to go, Darius Slayton becomes the top receiving option and a good value option with Engram also seeing a bump. It is tough to distinguish between what pieces are usable in the Giants offense at this point and with a tough matchup against a good Panthers defense it might just be best to stay away now that Shepard has been ruled out.

DeVante Parker

10/24/21, 11:51 AM ET

MIA WR DeVante Parker and TE Hunter Long inactive; WR Preston Williams officially active Sunday

DeVante Parker will not be available for the Dolphins’ matchup with the Atlanta Falcons. Jaylen Waddle and Mike Gesicki will get the biggest bump as Tua Tagovailoa’s top pass-catchers with Preston Williams and Albert Wilson also seeing their roles increase. Both Waddle and Gesicki would be worth considering in most formats due to their expected volume boost in a decent matchup.

Julio Jones

Philadelphia Eagles
10/24/21, 11:55 AM ET

TEN WR Julio Jones officially active Sunday

As expected, Julio Jones officially active Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. This is expected to be one of, if not the best, game environments on the slate with two high powered offenses and Jones availability will add another usable piece to the Tennessee side of the ball. Jones should be considered as one of the top options in Titans stacks or as a bring back option in Chiefs stacks. However, if Jones were to be limited in any way A.J. Brown could see a target increase making him an even stronger play.

NYJ RB Tevin Coleman and WR Jeff Smith inactive Sunday

Tevin Coleman and Jeff Smith will be inactive Sunday against the New England Patriots. Neither Coleman or Smith was expected to play much of a role as the carries should be handled by Michael Carter, Ty Johnson, and La’Mical Perine and Smith was only going to provide receiver depth. It is best to avoid the Jets offense as they are expected to be playing in a slow paced game with a tough matchup.

10/24/21, 12:00 PM ET

NEP RB J.J. Taylor active; Rhamondre Stevenson inactive Sunday

J.J. Taylor active will be active Sunday against the New York Jets while Rhamondre Stevenson will be a healthy inactive. The guessing game in the New England backfield continues as Stevenson who was expected to have an increased role was a healthy scratch. Taylor will take his place and likely serve as Damien Harris’s primary backup while Brandon Bolden should also see work. It is best to stay away from the Patriots backfield at this point as Coach Belichick is known for having a running back by committee approach.

Darius Slayton, John Ross, and Evan Engram are expected to play Sunday against the Carolina Panthers while Sterling Shepard will be a game-time decision with a hamstring injury. The Giants will at least have two of their injured receivers available today along with their starting tight end, which is good news in what could be a huge bounce back game for the Giants. Sterling Shepard still remains questionable and will have to go through warmups before a decision is made on his availability. CHI WR Allen Robinson will play Sunday

CHI WR Allen Robinson will play Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers despite dealing with an ankle injury. Robinson is expected to see a healthy workload due to the matchup as the Buccaneers are averaging allowing less than 60 yards rushing a game. Justin Fields will likely be forced to throw the ball giving his top pass-catchers, Darnell Mooney and Robinson a slight bump. Though Robinson has not been impressive so far this season, if there was ever a time to break out of his slump this would be it.
