Tajae Sharpe

San Francisco 49ers
9/27/20, 12:40 PM ET

Tajae Sharpe inactive Week 3

Tajae Sharpe is inactive Week 3, meaning Chad Beebe will make his season debut on the active roster. Beebe’s projected role is still very limited at best, and he is not a viable fantasy option today.

Josh Jacobs

Green Bay Packers
9/27/20, 12:22 PM ET

Josh Jacobs, Darren Waller both active Week 3

Jacobs and Waller are both active after being listed as questionable for Week 3. While both might still be working through their injuries, they also remain the main focal points of the Raiders’ offense, and therefore should see significant work against the Patriots.

Rashard Higgins

Carolina Panthers
9/27/20, 12:41 PM ET

Rashard Higgins Inactive Week 3

Higgins is inactive Week 3. He did not project to have a real role in the offense even if active, and his absence does not create any significant changes.

John Ross

Philadelphia Eagles
9/27/20, 12:46 PM ET

John Ross inactive Week 3

Ross was a surprise inactive Sunday, a sign of how much his role in the offense has fallen off this season. This is a good sign for Tee Higgins, Mike Thomas, and Auden Tate as the 3/4/5 WRs, although A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd remain the clear top options at the position.

Duke Johnson

Buffalo Bills
9/27/20, 12:43 PM ET

Duke Johnson Inactive, Kenny Stills Active Week 3

Duke Johnson is inactive Week 3, meaning David Johnson should handle nearly every RB touch once again. Kenny Stills is active after dealing with a non-COVID illness on Friday. He remains low on the WR depth chart and is unlikely to have a significant role in the offense this week.

Julio Jones

Philadelphia Eagles
9/27/20, 12:26 PM ET

Julio Jones inactive Week 3

Jones being inactive is the big injury news of the early games for Week 3. He typically gets a huge target share, and his absence will open up more looks for Calvin Ridley, Russell Gage, and Hayden Hurst in particular, although the entire offense may seem some increased opportunities. Those top three passing game options should be heavily targeted today by Matt Ryan, giving them high upsides. It did sound as if Jones was close to playing, so he may be able to return in Week 4.

Atlanta Falcons

No additional positive COVID-19 tests for Atlanta

The Falcons will not be missing any additional players Sunday due to COVID-19, one day after they had to place CB AJ Terrell on the Injured Reserve/COVID-19 list. Terrell was the first player to go on the list, and was actually at practice Friday. However, all players and team personnel were tested Saturday and came back negative, meaning the Falcons-Bears game will go on without issue.

Duke Johnson

Buffalo Bills
9/27/20, 8:03 AM ET

Rapoport: Duke Johnson not expected to play; Jerry Jeudy, Kenny Golladay, Josh Jacobs, Darren Waller, Kenny Stills all expected to play

Ian Rapoport did his usual early AM news dump, although all of these players’ statuses are ‘expected’, and not confirmed. Inactives will still need to be monitored closely today given the number of high impact players listed as questionable. Duke Johnson is the only player in this group not expected to play, and the Texans promotion of C.J. Prosise to the active roster would seem to confirm this fact. Texans RB usage should be similar to last week, when Duke Johnson was also out. David Johnson was the only RB to get a carry or a target Week 2, and should be the only viable option for Week 3.

Ty Montgomery

New England Patriots
9/26/20, 5:57 PM ET

Ty Montgomery placed on IR

Ty Montgomery has been placed on IR, meaning he is out at least 3 weeks. His role had been limited this season anyways, with 3 targets and 1 rush over the first two games. His absence moves Dwayne Washington into the third RB role for the Saints, but that is a role with very little volume or upside.

Tevin Coleman

San Francisco 49ers
9/26/20, 4:39 PM ET

Tevin Coleman (knee) placed on IR

Coleman was already expected to miss a few weeks, and this news confirms it. He will not be able to return until at least Week 6, and may need slightly longer than that before being healthy. The 49ers’ top RBs Week 3 will be Jerick McKinnon and Jeff Wilson.

Chris Moore

Washington Commanders
9/26/20, 3:52 PM ET

Chris Moore (finger) questionable for Monday

Chris Moore has been officially listed as questionable for Monday night. He is yet to play this season, and his role is likely limited at best, if active.

Sammy Watkins

Baltimore Ravens
9/26/20, 3:32 PM ET

Sammy Watkins (concussion) officially questionable for MNF

Sammy Watkins is listed as questionable by the Chiefs for Monday night, an improvement considering he missed the first day of practice this week. He was a full participant in practice Saturday, but his status likely will not be clear until Monday. Mecole Hardman and Demarcus Robinson would likely see the biggest boost if Watkins is out.

As reported by: Kansas City Chiefs Other tagged players: Mecole Hardman, Demarcus Robinson

Reggie Bonnafon

Washington Commanders
9/26/20, 10:52 AM ET

Reggie Bonnafon promoted to active roster for Week 3

In an expected move, the Panthers have promoted RB Reggie Bonnafon to the active roster. He should serve as the backup RB behind Mike Davis while Christian McCaffrey is out, and is not likely to receive significant work, although he will likely get some touches.

Cam Akers

Seattle Seahawks
9/25/20, 5:20 PM ET

Cam Akers (ribs) officially ruled out for Sunday

Akers was unable to participate in practice the entire week and has officially been downgraded to out for Sunday’s Week 3 matchup against the Detroit Lions due to a ribs injury. Meanwhile, Malcolm Brown avoided the Rams’ final injury report but is still nursing a broken finger that could be a factor in limiting his total snap count in this weekend’s contest. Following Akers and Brown’s exits from last Sunday’s win, Darrell Henderson Jr. went on to total 121 yards on 14 touches, and he now figures to lead the Los Angeles backfield for a second straight week, making him the Rams running back to target for in daily fantasy tournament formats on Sunday’s main slate

Michael Thomas

New Orleans Saints
9/25/20, 6:36 PM ET

Michael Thomas (ankle) officially ruled out for Sunday night

As expected, Thomas has officially been ruled out and won’t play in Sunday night’s Week 3 matchup against the Green Bay Packers due to a high ankle sprain that’s now forced him to miss two games. This is obviously a devasting blow to the Saints offense, and with Thomas unavailable, it elevates Emmanuel Sanders to the de facto number one wide receiver for Drew Brees despite seeing just three targets in last Sunday’s loss, while Alvin Kamara and Jared Cook also figure to absorb a larger market share of the Saints’ targets. The absence of Thomas should allow for Tre’Quan Smith to continue seeing a significant increase in snaps and routes run, and he’ll be an intriguing tournament option once again on this weekend’s primetime and single-game slates across the daily fantasy industry.
