Where To Find the Best Value On Big Game Bets

In today’s rapidly growing world of sports betting, there are tons of legal sportsbooks available and they often offer differing odds and prices on the same bets. Now, more than ever, it’s important to shop around to find the best price. It’s also easier than ever.

In this article, we’ll take a look at where you can find the best odds and prices for some of the most popular Super Bowl bets.

The highest volume of wagers for the Super Bowl will be those made on the point spread, moneyline, and over/under total. Although by this point in time, and we’re writing this article on the Tuesday of Super Bowl week, the betting lines for these have settled a bit, but there is still opportunity to get a few cents of value if you shop around.

Best Value in NJ: Spread, Moneyline, Total

In New Jersey, most sportsbooks have the San Francisco 49ers as 1.5-point underdogs to the Kansas City Chiefs. At DraftKings Sportsbook NJ, both sides are priced at -110, which is also the same prices you’ll find at SugarHouse NJ. At FanDuel Sportsbook NJ, however, you can find the 49ers (+1.5) at -105 and this is the price you’ll want to take.

For those that would rather avoid the point spread and instead just pick a side to win, betting on the moneyline is for you. Just remember that without the point spread to handicap the two sides, the odds will be adjusted accordingly.

With San Francisco being the underdog, you can find plus money on the 49ers, and the best option in New Jersey is from FanDuel, where the 49ers are +112 on the moneyline. The worst moneyline odds on the 49ers in NJ comes from SugarHouse, where the 49ers are closer to even money at +104.

On the other side, DraftKings is offering the best moneyline price in New Jersey if you want to bet on the Chiefs to win the game outright. At DraftKings NJ, Kansas City is -122.

A third popular wager is on the point total, and you’ll find it sitting at either 54 or 54.5 in New Jersey. If you’re interested in the betting the over, you’ll want to find a total of 54. If you’re eyeing the under, then find a sportsbook that offers 54.5. On Tuesday, DraftKings, Sugarhouse, and FOX Bet were offering over/under 54, whereas FanDuel and PointsBet were offering over/under 54.5. It’s also worth noting that at time of writing, FanDuel and PointsBet had -115 juice on the over and -105 juice on the under, which should tell us that this line could tick up to 55.

Best Value in PA: Spread, Moneyline, Total

In Pennsylvania, we can also find Chiefs (-1.5) as the point spread across the board, but there is some value to be had if you look at the juice that’s being applied. DraftKings, Rivers Casino PA, and SugarHouse PA each have -110 on both sides of the spread, but FanDuel in Pennsylvania has -105 as the price on the 49ers (+1.5). If you’re in Pennsylvania and looking to bet San Francisco with the points, FanDuel Sportsbook will be your best option. For those wanting to lay the points with Kansas City, DraftKings, Rivers Casino PA, and SugarHouse PA are all the same, but just avoid FanDuel’s odds of -115.

When it comes to the moneyline, FanDuel Sportsbook PA is offering the best price on the 49ers at +112. DraftKings Sportsbook PA is offering the best price on the Chiefs at -122.

For the over/under total, just like in New Jersey you’ll find 54 or 54.5. Over bettors can look at DraftKings, Rivers Casino PA, and SugarHouse PA to get over 54 at a price of -110. They’ll also want to avoid FanDuel’s over 54.5 (-115) listing, but under bettors should look to FanDuel to grab the under 54.5 (-105) for the best price on the under.

Best Value in IN: Spread, Moneyline, Total

In Indiana, the best value on the underdog for the Super Bowl point spread will come from FanDuel, where the 49ers are 1.5-point underdogs at a price of -105. For the favored Chiefs, look to DraftKings Sportsbook IN to get the Chiefs (-1.5) at -110.

On the moneyline, DraftKings and FanDuel both have a good price to offer that is better than the other on one side. For the favorite, look to DraftKings to get -122 on the Chiefs moneyline. For the underdog, go with FanDuel for +112 on the 49ers.

As for the total, DraftKings has over/under 54 and FanDuel has over/under 54.5, so you know what that means. If you’re looking to bet the over, check out DraftKings and grab the over 54 at -110. If you want to bet the under, FanDuel’s under 54.5 at -105 is the place you want to be.

Best Value for Big Game Props: First TD

Player props and game props are rising in popularity as legalized sports betting grows, and they’re especially popular when it comes to the Super Bowl. Super Bowl LIV between the 49ers and Chiefs will be no different, with plenty of sportsbooks offering hundreds, if not thousands, of prop bets.

Betting on the player to score the first touchdown of the Super Bowl is always a fun one, and there’s some decent value to be had if you shop around. We’d suggest avoiding the favorites in Damien Williams or Raheem Mostert, but if eating chalk is your thing, the least you can do is shop the market. For Williams, look to take the +650 odds at DraftKings NJ or PointsBet for him to score the first TD. It’s better than the +600 listed elsewhere. For Mostert, FanDuel has the best price on Tuesday at +700 to score the first TD.

A little bit further down the oddsboard we can find some other players we like for the ‘player to score the first touchdown’ prop. The names we’re talking about are George Kittle, Deebo Samuel, Kyle Juszczyk, Mecole Hardman, and Demarcus Robinson. Yes, we know that’s a lot of players, and you don’t have to bet on each one. These are the players we like and we want to point out where to get the best prices on them to be the player to score the first touchdown.

Kittle (+1100) – For Kittle, tight end for the 49ers, you can find him priced at +1100 at PointsBet to score the first touchdown. That’s a bit better than the +850 we see elsewhere.

Samuel (+1300) – For Samuel, check out BetMGM to get him at +1300. It’s not a ton more than the +1100 and +1200 elsewhere, but it’s a better price and it always pays to shop around.

Juszczyk (+5000) – For Juszczyk, you’re going to need to scroll down the oddsboard a bit, but a little money risked as San Francisco’s popular fullback who has the ability to catch the ball and break big plays can go a long way. DraftKings, PointsBet, and FOX Bet have Juszczyk at +5000 to score the first touchdown of the Super Bowl and that’s the best price to grab.

Hardman and Robinson are speedy, talented receivers for the Chiefs and we know how powerful Kansas City’s offense is. Sure, we could look at Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, or even Sammy Watkins, but those players are more favored and ones we’d rather avoid. We will say that if you do want to take Watkins for this prop, DraftKings is the place to do it because he’s +1800 there versus the +1400 and +1500 you can find elsewhere. But, back to Hardman and Robinson.

Hardman (+2200) – Hardman’s odds are more event across the board, but make sure you get the +2200 at DraftKings, FanDuel, FOX Bet, or BetMGM and not the +2000 at PointsBet. Again, ever little bit counts.

Robinson (+3300) – For Robinson, FOX Bet and PointsBet have by far the best price for him to score the first TD at +3300.

Best Value for Big Game Props: QBs

If you read the ‘Best Jimmy Garoppolo Super Bowl Player Props’ article at SharpSide, then you know this bettor is leaning to take the over on some of Garoppolo’s passing props. In a game that is expected to be a high-scoring one with a close point spread, and one that Garoppolo gets to go up against a defense that can be susceptible to the pass, it’s likely that Garoppolo is going to need to throw. If you agree, great. If you don’t, that’s fine, too, but still shop around.

Garoppolo o238.5 Passing Yards – For passing yards, if you want the over like us, then grab the over on 238.5 passing yards posted at BetMGM or PointsBet. You’re getting a couple yards of value against the other sportsbooks.

Garoppolo o18.5 Completions – At FanDuel, you can find Garoppolo’s player prop for completions at 18.5. We like anything under 20, but being able to get the over on 18.5 and not 19.5 really makes us happy.

Garoppolo o1.5 Passing TDs – This should be the line you’ll see at any sportsbook posting this player prop for Garoppolo, so be sure to look at the price. Again, an expected high-scoring game with a close point spread should tell us that San Francisco is going to need to score. Garoppolo has plenty of weapons to get it done through the air.

As was talked about over on SharpSide, it’s probably best to avoid the passing yards player prop for Patrick Mahomes. It’s on the higher side, pushing 300 yards, and looks to be pretty dialed in. But, we can find some value elsewhere that we like.

Mahomes o1.5 Passing TDs – The juice is on the heavier side at DraftKings, but it feels like free money to be able to take the over on 1.5 passing touchdowns for Mahomes. With such heavy juice, there is the fear that this line might go up.

Mahomes o30.5 Rushing Yards – Although this line has moved up to 30.5, there’s still some value with the way Mahomes can run with the ball. If we think San Francisco’s pass rush is going to have Mahomes on the move a bit in this game, which we do, then there should be opportunities for him to break off some decent runs. The best price we find for over 30.5 rushing yards is -106 at DraftKings.

Best Value for Big Game Props: RBs

Raheem Mostert has been running wild for the San Francisco 49ers and the sportsbooks have recognized the success he’s had by setting his rushing yards player prop in the high 70s. Well, all but one sportsbook seem to have recognized it.

Mostert o60.5 Rushing Yards – As of Tuesday, BetMGM in NJ still had Mostert’s over/under rushing yards line at 60.5, which is 17.5 yards less than other sportsbooks in the state. If this is available to you, it’s almost impossible to pass up when the other sportsbooks have 77.5 posted.

Best Value for Big Game Props: WRs

The Super Bowl should have a good amount of passing in it, especially on Kansas City’s side. Plenty of bettors will be looking to target the various pass catchers that the Chiefs have, and here are a couple of the best lines available.

There’s been a lot of talk around the betting world of finding player props that are a little less popular, and Sammy Watkins can present some of those. He won’t be as popular as a Tyreek Hill or Travis Kelce, but he’s more popular than Mecole Hardman or Demarcus Robinson. Either way you want to go on the receiving yards that Watkins gets, it pays to shop around.

Watkins o47.5 Receiving Yards – At FanDuel, Watkins has an over/under receiving yards total of 47.5, and it’s the best available. The juice isn’t too bad at -118. Take advantage of the lowest number across the market if you’re an over bettor. For comparison, PointsBet also has 47.5 as the number but the over was priced at -167 as of Tuesday.

Watkins u50.5 Receiving Yards – If you want to take the under on receiving yards for Watkins, do it at DraftKings, where the total is 50.5 and priced at -112. The price isn’t bad on taking the under and you’re getting 3 more yards to work with.

Robinson o18.5 Receiving Yards – He may not be the sexiest player on the board, but Demarcus Robinson can hit big plays and might be worth looking at as an over target. If you do, look to BetMGM, where his player prop on receiving yards is down at 18.5.
