Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.335 (Rank: 5) — Strikeout Rate: 22.3% (Rank: 25)
Pitchers per PA: 3.76 (Rank: 18)
Analysis: Harang is coming off of one of his worst performances of the season, giving up four home runs and seven earned runs against the Reds in six innings of work. He has a 4.22 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 18.2% over the last two seasons. He’s an easy pitcher to avoid tonight against an Orioles’ offense that is finally starting to get healthy. The Orioles are ranked 5th in wOBA (.335) over the last 14 days of play.
Pitcher Rating:49.9
Wei-Yin Chen : FD: $7,400 — DK: $7,700

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.291 (Rank: 23) — Strikeout Rate: 19.4% (Rank: 11)
Pitchers per PA: 3.72 (Rank: 25)
Analysis: Chen is one of the biggest favorites on the board tonight. He has pitched well over the last month, posting a 3.37 SIERA with an impressive strikeout rate of 22.7%. Chen should get plenty of run support tonight with Aaron Harang pitching opposite him and he draws a favorable matchup against the Phillies, who are average against left-handed pitching this season. Chen could be a cheap source for a win tonight.

Last 14 Days: PA: 51 — wOBA: 0.521 — ISO: 0.383 — wRC+: 236
Analysis: Franco has been swinging a hot bat over the last two weeks with a .521 wOBA and a .383 ISO. His numbers against left-handed pitching may not look great in the stats above, but he actually has a .401 wOBA against southpaws this season. Franco draws a favorable matchup against Wei-Yin Chen, who has given up a .328 wOBA to right-handed hitters.
Baltimore
Adam Jones : FD: $3,600 — DK: $5,200

Last 14 Days: PA: 51 — wOBA: 0.439 — ISO: 0.375 — wRC+: 188
Analysis: We typically like to target Jones against left-handed pitchers, but he has been red-hot over the last few weeks and he has decent power against right-handed pitching, posting a .169 ISO since the start of last season. The power bats from the Orioles are all in play tonight, as Aaron Harang has a high fly ball rate and this game will take place in the home run-friendly Camden Yards.

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.301 (Rank: 20) — Strikeout Rate: 19.7% (Rank: 12)
Pitchers per PA: 3.79 (Rank: 16)
Analysis: Rodon is coming off of his best start in the majors. He struck out five batters over six shutout innings against the Astros. He has a high strikeout rate of 22.0%, which we’ve seen from Rodon at every level that he has pitched at. He draws a decent matchup against the Pirates, who are surprisingly ranked 25th in wOBA (.294) and 29th in strikeout rate (23.9%) against left-handed pitching this season. Even though this should be a decent spot for Rodon, he is such a large underdog that he’s not really on my radar tonight.
Pitcher Rating:54.0
Francisco Liriano : FD: $9,400 — DK: $10,000
Pitching Stats:

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.288 (Rank: 26) — Strikeout Rate: 19.9% (Rank: 13)
Pitchers per PA: 3.73 (Rank: 24)
Analysis: Liriano has been very sharp over the last month, posting a 2.12 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 31.1%. He has given up an unusual amount of home runs recently, but that HR/FB rate of 18.8% over the last month is unsustainable. Liriano draws a favorable matchup tonight against the White Sox, who are ranked 30th in wOBA (.241) and 21st in strikeout rate (22.5%) against left-handed pitching this season. Even with Masahiro Tanaka taking the mound for the Yankees, Liriano is my top pitcher in tonight’s slate of games.

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.315 (Rank: 12) — Strikeout Rate: 20.7% (Rank: 18)
Pitchers per PA: 3.84 (Rank: 10)
Analysis: Moscot pitched pretty well in his last start, holding the Phillies to two runs in six innings of work. His peripheral stats don’t look great though, as he has a 5.71 SIERA with a low strikeout rate of 10.6% on the season. Moscot can safely be avoided tonight against the Tigers, who are ranked 6th in wOBA (.322) against right-handed pitching this season. Moscot is a sizable underdog in a game that features a total of 8.5 runs.

Last 14 Days: wOBA: 0.339 (Rank: 2) — Strikeout Rate: 19.3% (Rank: 10)
Pitchers per PA: 3.72 (Rank: 26)
Analysis: Sanchez has given up an unusual amount of home runs in his recent starts. That should regress back toward his career average though. The home runs have actually brought his price down to a very playable level on both FanDuel and DraftKings. It’s a good spot to buy low on Sanchez, as he is an above-average pitcher that is one of the largest favorites in tonight’s slate of games. If he can keep the ball in the park against the Reds, he should put himself in a good spot to pick up the win.

Cabrera hits both left and right-handed pitching well and he draws a favorable matchup against the rookie Jon Moscot, who is making his third career major league start. Pitchers per PA: 3.84 (Rank: 9)
Analysis: Gonzalez is one of those pitchers that you never feel 100% confident in rostering. He can look dominant at times and then it can all fall apart in the matter of one inning. He has an impressive 3.51 SIERA with a 23.9% strikeout rate over the last two seasons, but he does struggle with his command at times. He will likely be on a lot of people’s radar tonight, but the Rays actually hit left-handed pitching pretty well. They are a patient team at the plate that should be able to draw some walks. It could cost me, but I may pull a complete fade of Gonzalez tonight.

Analysis: Ramirez has pitched pretty well over the last month of play, posting a 3.85 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 20.9%. He has cut down on his walks and he is producing a higher ground-ball rate than he has throughout his career. Even though he has pitched well recently, he is still a very risky fantasy option. The Nationals are a competent offense and Bryce Harper (DTD) can ruin a pitcher’s outing all by himself.

Analysis: Tanaka has looked great in his first two starts back from injury, striking out a combined 15 batters while only giving up two earned runs in 14 innings of work. He threw 87 pitches in his last start and that total will likely eclipse 90 tonight against the Marlins. We’d rather target him when he’s not on a pitch count, but he has proven that he can pitch deep into a game even when his pitches are limited. He draws a terrific matchup against the Marlins, who are ranked 28th in wOBA (.291) and 20th in strikeout rate (20.3%) against right-handed pitching this season. I have Tanaka ranked right behind Francisco Liriano as the top pitching option on the board tonight.

Analysis: Koehler is a serviceable starter for the Marlins. Over the last two seasons, he has a 4.26 SIERA with an average strikeout rate of 18.6%. He struggles with his command at times, which could be an issue against a Yankees team that averages the fifth-most pitches per plate appearance. The Yankees are also one of the best offenses against right-handed pitching, ranking 4th in wOBA (.325) and 11th in strikeout rate (19.7%) this season.

Last 14 Days: PA: 34 — wOBA: 0.350 — ISO: 0.182 — wRC+: 124
Analysis: The catcher position is usually one of the thinnest in daily fantasy baseball and that’s the case again tonight. McCann has been swinging a hot bat with a .350 wOBA and a .182 ISO over the last 14 days. His price is affordable and with the high on-base players in front of him, he should have a few opportunities to drive in some runs.

Miami
NONE – Masahiro Tanaka has pitched well since coming back from injury. He has also held left and right-handed hitters under a .285 wOBA over the last two seasons. The Marlins’ offense can safely be avoided in all league formats.
