Pitcher Grind Down
- Vidal Nuno – Nuno has been a bit better in his last two starts, but his lack of ability to go passed 6 innings depresses his fantasy value. He still holds a very high 4.97 ERA and 1.44 WHIP and gets a tough matchup against the A’s today. The A’s are in the top third of the league in runs scored against lefties and should be able to put up a number of runs today. Rating = 3
Salaries: $4600 FD, $10543 DS, $9150 DD, $6000 DK, $62900 FF, $13400 SS, $9150 FTD
- Jesse Chavez – Chavez has had a decent year for the A’s and has a 3.04 ERA to show for it. His 8.33 K/9 makes him a good fantasy play regardless of the team he is facing and today, is one of the biggest favorites on the board. The Yankees have not been the powerhouse offense that they usually are, but Chavez still makes a multi-pitcher/GPP only play for me today. Rating = 7
Salaries: $7600 FD, $15110 DS, $15300 DD, $8400 DK, $72500 FF, $23700 SS, $15300 FTD
Batter Grind Down
NY Yankees
Jacoby Ellsbury – Chavez gives up a .321 wOBA to left handed bats this year and Ellsbury always makes a great cash game play due to his ability to do so many different things to score points.
Additional Plays: Brett Gardner
Oakland
Yoenis Cespedes – Donaldson is usually the clear play against LH pitching, but has really struggled the last week and makes for a GPP only play due to his 0-25 slump he is on.
Additional Plays: Josh Donaldson Derek Norris

Pitcher Grind Down
- Juan Nicasio – Nicasio has been terrible for the Rockies this season at Coors as well as away. He has a 5.70 ERA and has allowed batters to hit .299 against him on the season. He is easily avoidable as the biggest underdog on the day. Rating = 2
Salaries: $4600 FD, $9156 DS, $9200 DD, $5200 DK, $40000 FF, $13000 SS, $9200 FTD
- Madison Bumgarner – Bumgarner has been great on the season, but has actually struggled a bit at home with a 4.46 ERA. His overall numbers are great though as he has a 2.67 ERA and a 9.75 K/9. I feel that he should be able to start chipping away at his high home ERA today as the Rockies are battling injury. As the highest favorite on the board, Bumgarner is one of the safest plays today. Rating = 9
Salaries: $9500 FD, $21062 DS, $19800 DD, $10400 DK, $145600 FF, $28700 SS, $19800 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Colorado
Troy Tulowitzki – Check to make sure he is in the lineup, but regardless of the pitcher, when Tulo faces a LH pitcher he is in play. His ridiculous .842 SLG and 1.363 OPS against lefties and is slightly down price makes Tulo a great GPP play.
San Francisco
Hunter Pence – Nicasio is giving up a .363 wOBA to RH bats this year and Pence has been hot recently with a .360 AVG in the last week.
Additional Plays: Buster Posey Pablo Sandoval Angel Pagan

Pitcher Grind Down
- Bronson Arroyo – Arroyo has been up and down this season as he has given up 1 or less runs in 5 starts and 4 or more in 4 starts. This has resulted in a 4.22 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP. His low K/9 of 5.53 does not help his fantasy value and he has a tough matchup against the Dodgers who are hitting .270 against righties as a team. He is tough to play in any game type with all the other options at his price. Rating = 4
Salaries: $6300 FD, $10543 DS, $12000 DD, $7000 DK, $72300 FF, $18300 SS, $12000 FTD
- Josh Beckett – Beckett has been great for the Dodgers and has been pitching well recently as he has given up only 4 earned runs in his last 4 starts. He has a 2.35 ERA on the season and a good 8.67 K/9. Beckett is allowing only a .205 AVG to all batters and makes a good start against the Diamondbacks who K in the top third of the league. Rating = 6
Salaries: $8000 FD, $19330 DS, $18000 DD, $9300 DK, $98900 FF, $24800 SS, $18000 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Arizona
Miguel Montero – Beckett has given up a wOBA of .351 against LH hitters and Montero has a .916 OPS against righties. He is 4/12 with a home run against Beckett.
Additional Plays: Didi Gregorious
LA Dodgers
Hanley Ramirez – Righties have really hit Arroyo well this year for a .331 AVG and Ramirez has a home run off of Arroyo in the past (8/24 with 1 home run).
Additional Plays: Matt Kemp Yasiel Puig

Pitcher Grind Down
- Nick Martinez – Martinez has been a very good starter to stack against recently as he has given up 16 runs in his last 3 starts. He has a real high 1.71 WHIP on the season and the home run has really hurt him recently as he has given up 5 in his last 3 games. He is avoidable in all leagues today. Rating = 2
Salaries: $4000 FD, $8465 DS, $8950 DD, $5000 DK, $49000 FF, $13000 SS, $7500 FTD
- Hisashi Iwakuma – Iwakuma has been a bit up and down for him this season. He has been spectacular in 3 shutout starts this season, but has also given up 3 or more runs in 4 starts. He does still hold a 0.97 WHIP on the season and pitched well against this Rangers squad already. He should be able to go about 7 innings which makes him a decent start today. Rating = 7
Salaries: $8200 FD, $16999 DS, $17450 DD, $9400 DK, $119700 FF, $26000 SS, $17450 FTD

Texas
Adrian Beltre – Beltre makes a good GPP play today as he has 3 home runs in his 25 at bats against Iwakuma.
Seattle
Robinson Cano – Martinez is giving up a tremendously high .442 wOBA to LH bats this year. Cano is one of the top second base options today as he continues to mash RH pitching.
Additional Plays: Kyle Seager James Jones Logan Morrison

Pitcher Grind Down
- Hector Santiago – Santiago rejoined the starting rotation to put up a real nice 8 strikeout 6 inning performance against a good Oakland squad. I wouldn’t expect a repeat performance today as he does have a 4.15 ERA on the season. He does have a decent matchup due to the high strikeout ability of the Braves tonight. Rating = 5
Salaries: $5600 FD, $11919 DS, $10400 DD, $6700 DK, $65300 FF, $14400 SS, $NA FTD
- Mike Minor – Take away the terrible Coors start and Minor has a 3.07 ERA on the season. His K/9 of 8.06 has been very good since coming off the DL, but does have a tough matchup against an Angels squad that is in the top third of the league in runs and average against LH pitching. Rating = 6
Salaries: $7300 FD, $14889 DS, $13800 DD, $8200 DK, $87800 FF, $22000 SS, $ FTD
Batter Grind Down
LA Angels
Mike Trout – Trout is always in play against LH pitching with his 1.043 OPS against them.
Additional Plays: Albert Pujols
Atlanta
Justin Upton – Santiago is giving up a .334 wOBA to RH bats and Upton’s price is a bit depressed due recent struggles. He has some of the highest upside in the league against lefties and could be in line for a big night.
Additional Plays: Chris Johnson Evan Gattis
