While matchups are a major factor in daily fantasy hockey there are plenty of other factors to consider such as injuries, salaries, and more.

The analysis should point you in the right direction, but it is still up to you to decipher the information and make your own selections. Hockey is an extremely high variance sport. The best choice is not always the right choice but following the trends will win you money over time.

The Red Wings horrible season continued the other night as the team lost their ninth game in a row as the Anaheim Ducks beat them by a score of 4-2 on the west coast. Lucky for Detroit that this is the last game of their current five game road trip as they have played in front of the home crowd just once in the last 10 games. Henrik Zetterberg skates on the top line with Tyler Bertuzzi and Gustav Nyquist while Anthony Mantha and Dylan Larkin skate with Darren Helm on the team’s second line. Larkin and Mantha seem to be the pairing here as Larkin’s 41 assists and 50 points lead the team while Mantha’s team leading 23 goals is not being challenged by anyone on the team. When a team doesn’t score goals it is tough to be competitive let alone be of any use where fantasy sports is concerned. Scoring eight goals over the last six games just exemplifies how fa r this team has fallen over the past few years. Mike Green is the choice on the back line as he has been able to find the score sheet 33 times so far this season. Trevor Daley is probably the next defensemen to look at as he has grabbed three points over the last nine games. With Detroit playing so badly the only thing that you can consider them for is tournament play this afternoon.

Colorado has played very well over the last 10 games as their record of 6-1-3 has yielded them enough points to pull into a four-way tie for the for the last t6hree playoff spots in the Western Conference. The top line of Nathan MacKinnon, Gabriel Landeskog and Mikko Rantanen is the line to target here as the Avalanche seem content to live or die with their three best players.
