Jimmy Butler (ankle) listed available to play Friday

Jimmy Butler (ankle) is listed available to play Friday against the Atlanta Hawks. With Butler able to play, Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro will both see a decrease in expected usage, while Caleb Martin and Gabe Vincent could see their minutes take a significant hit. Butler could be a risky tournament play as we don’t know if he could be limited in any way due to his right ankle injury.

Jimmy Butler (ankle) "warming up with the intention to play" Friday

If Butler is able to play, this would likely limit the upside of some of the other Heat players. Gary Trent Jr. (ankle) ruled out Friday; Scottie Barnes (knee) will be a game-time decision but will be listed active; Yuta Watanabe likely to start

Gary Trent Jr. (ankle) has been ruled out for Friday’s game against the Detroit Pistons, while Scottie Barnes (knee) will be a game-time decision but will be listed active. Trent is still dealing with an ankle injury and will be unable to suit up. His minutes will likely be spread around the rest of the Raptors as they try fill minutes. The main candidates to see increased playing time are Khem Birch (who likely joins the starting five for Trent), Chris Boucher, Yuta Watanabe (likely to start for Barnes), and Precious Achiuwa. It doesn’t sound like Barnes will play much if at all tonight but will be listed as active according to HC Nick Nurse. With his limited availability, Yuta Wantanabe is expected to play a larger role and join the starting lineup.

Jalen Johnson

Atlanta Hawks
1/14/22, 4:33 PM ET

Jalen Johnson (ankle) has been upgraded to questionable for Friday; Kevin Knox (not with team) is out

Jalen Johnson (ankle) has been upgraded to questionable for Friday’s game against the Miami Heat, while Kevin Knox (not with team) has been ruled out. Johnson has been upgraded from doubtful to questionable but ultimately his presence or lack thereof should have little to no DFS ramifications. The Hawks have no shortage of wing players so Knox not being available yet shouldn’t impact much either. When Knox is with the team he could take some minutes from other backend rotation pieces.
