Chimezie Metu will replace Alex Len in the starting lineup Wednesday; Len available off the bench

Chimezie Metu will replace Alex Len in the starting lineup Wednesday against the Los Angeles Lakers, Len will still be available off the bench. With the Lakers starting Lebron James at center, HC Alvin Gentry will elect to match this smaller lineup with Chimezie Metu. Metu should see increased playing minutes along with increased expected production. Len is still available and will likely be used off the bench to match Dwight Howard, but no longer being a part of the starting lineup is expected to limit his upside.

Carmelo Anthony (back) ruled out Wednesday

Carmelo Anthony (back) has been ruled out for Wednesday’s game against the Sacramento Kings. Anthony will miss his first game of the season due to lower back tightness leading to extra bench minutes available for the other Lakers rotational pieces. The top candidates to receive these minutes are Talen Horton-Tucker, Austin Reaves, and Trevor Ariza who should all become slightly better plays. THT projects to do the most with his increased minutes but at his current price on DK (4.7K) he remains a little too expensive for serious consideration.

Richaun Holmes (conditioning) officially ruled out Wednesday

As expected after being listed as doubtful, Richaun Holmes (conditioning) has officially been ruled out for Wednesday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers. The good news is that it seems like Holmes is nearing a return but the bad news is that he won’t be making that return tonight. In his absence Alex Len, Marvin Bagley, Chimezie Metu, and Neemias Queta should soak up the majority of the big man minutes (Tristan Thompson was ruled out earlier in the day) and will see increased value. Len is one of the better value options on the slate and should be considered in most formats.

Rajon Rondo (hamstring) ruled out Wednesday

Rajon Rondo (hamstring) has been ruled out for Wednesday’s game against the Utah Jazz. The bulk of Rondo’s minutes should be spread to the other backup guards like Dylan Windler and Brandon Goodwin though this should not have any DFS impact. They remain back end of the rotation pieces with little to no upside.

Derrick White (protocols) ruled out Wednesday; Keldon Johnson (protocols), Devin Vassell (protocols), and Jock Landale (back) all available

Derrick White (protocols) has officially been ruled out Wednesday, while Keldon Johnson (protocols), Devin Vassell (protocols), and Jock Landale (back) will all be available against the Houston Rockets. With Vassell returning, Joshua Primo, Keita Bates-Diop, and Bryn Forbes will all see their roles and minutes decrease but should still see some run with White out. Keldon Johnson could take some minutes from Jock Landale, Bates-Diop, Joe Wieskamp, and Devontae Cacok but will likely still be limited as he works his way back into game shape.

Richaun Holmes (conditioning) has been upgraded to doubtful from out for Wednesday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers. The good news is that it seems like Holmes is nearing a return but the bad news is that it still doesn’t seem likely that it will happen tonight. Joe Ingles (conditioning) available to play Wednesday; Norvel Pelle (illness) and Danuel House (illness) ruled out

Joe Ingles (conditioning) is available to play Wednesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers, while Norvel Pelle (illness) and Danuel House (illness) have been ruled out. Joe Ingles should remain in his role as one of the top options for the Jazz off the bench and will limit the upside of other members of the second unit like Jordan Clarkson. With Pelle out, the only big men for the Jazz will be Eric Paschall and Royce O’Neale who both should see a large amount of minutes. Outside of those two, Utah will have to get creative with how they defend Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley and will likely be forced to run smaller lineups. Both O’Neale and Paschall can be considered as value options.

James Harden (knee) and Kyrie Irving (ankle) available to play Wednesday; Nic Claxton (hamstring) ruled out

James Harden (knee) and Kyrie Irving (ankle) are both available to play Wednesday against the Chicago Bulls but Nic Claxton (hamstring) has been ruled out. Brooklyn will have its big three back together and all members should play a hefty amount of minutes. All three of Harden, Durant, and Irving can be considered in DFS contests though the availability of all three limits the upside of each. With both Harden and Irving available, Patty Mills, DeAndre Bembry, and Cam Thomas should all see their roles diminished as well as their value. With Claxton ruled out, the bigs for the Nets will be Blake Griffin, James Johnson, and Day’Ron Sharpe who should all see more playing time and offer increased value.
