As reported by: NBA Official Injury ReportTyrese Maxey (quad) ruled out Thursday
Maxey was never listed on the Sixers’ injury report, but he’s now a late scratch from the lineup and won’t play in Thursday’s matchup against the Brooklyn Nets due to a left quad contusion. The Sixers were already slated to be without Furkan Korkmaz and Georges Niang for a second straight contest, so with their second unit depth quickly dwindling, it would not be surprising for head coach Doc Rivers to resort to deploying an eight-man rotation in tonight’s contest, which would mean a sizable role for Isaiah Joe off the bench. As for Maxey’s absence, Shake Milton will join the starting lineup, and as is the case anytime Maxey is sidelined, he should be given the opportunity to see as many minutes as he can handle at the point guard position considering Philadelphia’s inept lack of ballhandlers and creators on the perimeter.
As reported by: Tim Bontemps via TwitterChristian Wood (knee) officially out Thursday
As expected, Wood has officially been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Thursday’s matchup against the New York Knicks due to left knee tendinitis that has now forced him to miss two games. Meanwhile, Eric Gordon will be available after sitting out the front end of this back-to-back set for injury maintenance purposes. In Wood’s absence, Daniel Theis should remain in the starting lineup following his mediocre daily fantasy performance in 18 minutes of action in Wednesday’s loss, but with Theis in-and-out of the rotation of late, Alperen Sengun should have a safer minute floor off the bench as the backup center than he typically does when the Rockets frontcourt is at full strength.
As reported by: Adam Spolane via TwitterMalcolm Brogdon (Achilles) ruled out Thursday
Brogdon is a late addition to the Pacers’ injury report and has officially been ruled out of Thursday’s matchup against the Detroit Pistons due to a right Achilles soreness. T.J. McConnell recently underwent ligament surgery on his right wrist, so with him still sidelined, Brad Wanamaker is expected to receive the starting nod at the point guard position in tonight’s contest. However, his minute floor will be anything but secure since Caris LeVert and Chris Duarte are both more than capable of running the offense, especially when they are on the floor together. If that scenario comes to fruition, Justin Holiday would appear to be the big winner in terms of playing time and could potentially even start if head coach Rick Carlisle opts to keep Wanamaker in his usual reserve point guard role.
As reported by: the Indiana Pacers via TwitterSpencer Dinwiddie (knee) listed out Thursday
As expected, Dinwiddie has been included in the Wizards’ initial injury report and is listed as out for Thursday’s matchup against the Phoenix Suns for right knee injury maintenance on the second leg of a back-to-back set. Whenever Dinwiddie has been rested this season, Aaron Holiday has typically received the start alongside Bradley Beal in the backcourt, but he’s been far from consistent from a daily fantasy perspective when given the added opportunity, relegating him solely as an in large-field tournament formats. Additionally, Kyle Kuzma made his return from a three-game absence in Wednesday’s contest and logged 33 minutes of action, but as of now, there haven’t been any reports of a potential minute restriction for him this evening.
As reported by: NBA Official Injury ReportFurkan Korkmaz (illness) listed out Thursday
Korkmaz has been included in the Sixers’ initial injury report and is listed as out for Thursday’s matchup against the Brooklyn Nets due to a non-COVID related illness that’s now forced him to miss two games, while Georges Niang previously remains in the NBA’s health and safety protocols and is presently without a timetable for a return. Assuming Joel Embiid and Seth Curry aren’t held out on the second leg of a back-to-back set, the unavailability of Korkmaz and Niang will have more of an impact on the second unit than the starting five since Isaiah Joe should now having a secure role off the bench and Danny Green and Shake Milton could potentially absorb more extensive minute workloads than they have in recent games.
As reported by: NBA Official Injury ReportTony Snell (personal) and Dennis Smith Jr. (knee) ruled out Wednesday
Snell is a late addition to the Trail Blazers’ injury report and has been ruled out of Wednesday’s matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies due to personal reasons, while Smith Jr. won’t be available off the bench because of a knee injury. The absences of Snell and Smith won’t do much to impact the overall projections of the main Portland players on tonight’s daily fantasy slates, but it does increase the probability that head coach Chauncey Billups utilizes just an eight-man rotation with CJ McCollum and Cody Zeller still sidelined with their respective ailments. However, there remains the possibility that someone like Trendon Watford or CJ Elleby enters the rotation to absorb marginal playing time as the ninth guy, which could weaken the stability of the minute floors of the regulars this evening.
As reported by: Casey Holdahl via Twitter Other tagged players: Dennis Smith Jr.Terence Davis (health protocols) listed out Wednesday
Davis is a late addition to the Kings’ injury report and has officially been ruled out of Wednesday’s matchup against the Washington Wizards as he and Marvin Bagley have entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols and will be sidelined for a presently undetermined amount of time. Interim head coach Alvin Gentry has been utilizing a three-man committee at the center position of late, so there may not be as much playing time available at the frontcourt positions as there appears at a surface level even with Richaun Holmes likely to miss another game. Chimezie Metu should start a second straight contest at power forward, but since he’s typically limited to minutes in low-to-mid-twenties, there’s room for players like Harrison Barnes or Davion Mitchell to see increased minute workloads with Davis and Bagley sidelined this evening.
As reported by: NBA Official Injury ReportMason Plumlee (rib) listed available Wednesday
As expected, Plumlee has been upgraded from probable and will be available to play in Wednesday’s matchup against the San Antonio Spurs after missing extended time due to a rib contusion. The Hornets are slowly trending towards a full-strength roster after being ravaged by injuries and players entering the NBA health and safety protocols, so barring some sort of minute restriction, Plumlee should reclaim the starting center role from Nick Richards, who was limited to just three minutes despite starting the Hornets previous game. Jalen McDaniels is also slated to return for tonight’s contest following his clearance from the health and safety protocols, so JT Thor should also find himself out of the rotation along with Richards this evening.
As reported by: NBA Official Injury ReportAustin Rivers (health protocols) ruled out Wednesday; Bones Hyland (undisclosed) inactive
Rivers was strangely upgraded to questionable on the Nuggets’ injury report despite not yet clearing the NBA’s health and safety protocols, and he’s now officially been ruled out of Wednesday’s matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves, while Hyland will be inactive for a presently unspecified reason. Even with the return of Will Barton from a non-COVID related illness, the Nuggets find themselves a bit thin at the guard and wing positions with Davon Reed’s 10-day contract expiring after the conclusion of their previous game, so expect Facundo Campazzo to continue logging substantial playing time off the bench behind Barton and Monte Morris in the backcourt whereas Markus Howard and Vlatko Cancar could each join the rotation to absorb marginal playing time this evening.
As reported by: Harrison Wind via Twitter Other tagged players: Bones HylandJustin Holiday (reconditioning) available to play Wednesday
Holiday has officially been upgraded from questionable and will be available to play in Wednesday’s matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks after missing an extended period due to the NBA’s health and safety protocols and reconditioning. His return shouldn’t have too much of an impact on the other members of the Pacers of the rotation, but players like Torrey Craig, Jeremy Lamb, or Kelan Martin could see their playing time reduced or even disappear completely with another body available to head coach Rick Carlisle on the wing.
As reported by: the Indiana Pacers via TwitterKhris Middleton (knee) ruled out Wednesday
Despite being listed as questionable on the Bucks’ injury report, Middleton always was a longshot to play, and he’s now officially been ruled out of Wednesday’s matchup against the Indiana Pacers due to a left knee hyperextension. Milwaukee is also without Giannis Antetokounmpo, Donte DiVincenzo, and Wesley Matthews as they remain in the NBA’s health and safety protocols and are currently without a timetable to return. In their absences, Pat Connaughton is a lock to join the starting lineup alongside Grayson Allen on the wing, but the replacement at power forward is much less clear with Sandro Mamukelashvili or Thanasis Antetokounmpo the logical candidates to join the first unit this evening.
