Jeremy Lamb (wrist) and Justin Holiday (ankle) expected to play Wednesday

Lamb and Holiday were originally listed as questionable on the Pacers’ injury report, but Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle disclosed to reporters during his pregame media availability that he expects them to play in Wednesday’s season opener against the Charlotte Hornets despite battling their respective ailments. Indiana will be without Caris LeVert and T.J. Warren to open the 2021-22 campaign, so even with Lamb and Holiday active, there still should be plenty of minutes available for preseason standout Chris Duarte to see substantial playing time in his NBA debut, and he remains the most likely candidate to join Malcolm Brogdon in the starting backcourt this evening.

Josh Richardson (migraine) ruled out Wednesday

Richardson is a surprise late addition to the Celtics’ injury report and won’t play in Wednesday’s season opener against the New York Knicks due to a migraine, while Jaylen Brown technically remains listed as questionable but was already confirmed by several sources to be in the Boston starting lineup for tonight’s contest. With Al Horford still in the NBA’s health and safety protocols, Grant Williams will receive the starting nod at the power forward position, but those and Richardson’s vacated minutes figured to be distributed amongst multiple players, making Williams, Romeo Langford, and other Celtics’ reserves difficult to target in any daily fantasy formats this evening.

Terry Rozier (ankle) downgraded to questionable Wednesday

Rozier was originally listed as probable on the Hornets’ injury report, but he’s now being listed as questionable for Wednesday’s season opener against the Indiana Pacers due to a sprained left ankle. Should Rozier be ruled out closer to tipoff, Kelly Oubre would appear to be the leading candidate to join the starting lineup alongside Gordon Hayward on the wing, especially if head coach James Borrego doesn’t believe that rookie James Bouknight is ready for extensive regular season minutes early in the season. In addition to Oubre, reserves like Miles Bridges and Cody Martin could see increased playing time if Rozier is unavailable this evening.

Kendrick Nunn (ankle) ruled out Tuesday

During his pregame media availability, Lakers head coach Frank Vogel originally categorized Nunn as a game-time decision, but he’s now officially been downgraded to out and won’t play in Tuesday’s season opener against the Golden State Warriors due a sprained right ankle. With fringe rotation players like Trevor Ariza, Wayne Ellington, and Talen Horton-Tucker already unavailable, Nunn was slated to be a key cog in the Lakers’ second unit, and his absence should open playing time for Malik Monk and potentially rookie Austin Reaves if Vogel decides against condensing his rotation this early in the season. The removal of another body in the backcourt rotation could also gift Kent Bazemore a longer leash on the wing as a member of the starting lineup, adding to his appeal for large-field tournament contests this evening.

The Suns will stick with the same starting five as they look to get back on track in Game 6 after losing the last three games of the series. They will look to force a Game 7 on Thursday and should be led by Chris Paul, Devin Booker, and Deandre Ayton.

Thanasis Antetokounmpo (health protocols) listed out Saturday

Thanasis Antetokounmpo has been listed as out for Saturday’s Game 5 against the Phoenix Suns due to health and safety protocols. So far he is the only Bucks player that seems to be in the protocol but we will monitor the situation, we did not have Thanasis projected for any minutes tonight so no one stands to benefit in any major way from his absence. The Bucks should be led by Giannis, Khris Middleton, and Jrue Holiday as they look to take a 3-2 series lead tonight and send the series back to Milwaukee on Tuesday with a chance to win the NBA Finals.

The Suns will try to bounce back tonight from their first loss of the series and will do so with the same starting five that they have been using throughout the series and most of the playoffs. The Suns will look to take a 3-1 lead tonight and set up a closeout game on Saturday in Phoenix to win the NBA Finals.

The Bucks will continue to run with the same starting five as they look to even the series at two games apiece tonight before the series heads back to Phoenix for Game 5 on Saturday.

Lineup Update: Suns will start Paul, Booker, Bridges, Crowder, Ayton on Sunday

Coach Budenholzer will elect to keep the same starting five for Game 3 on Sunday despite being down in the series 2-0. The Bucks will look to capture their first win at home in Milwaukee tonight and should be led in production by Giannis, Khris Middleton, and Jrue Holiday.

Torrey Craig (knee) will play Sunday

As expected, Torrey Craig will be available for Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Sunday after being listed as probable on the injury report last night. Craig suffered a knee contusion last game when drawing a charge on Giannis Antetokounmpo and was unable to return. If he were to be limited tonight (though there has been no word on this yet), we could expect more minutes from Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder, and Cam Johnson. The Suns offense should be run primarily through Chris Paul, Devin Booker, and Deandre Ayton as Phoenix looks to take a commanding 3-0 series lead tonight.
