Elfrid Payton

New Orleans Pelicans
5/26/21, 5:55 PM ET

Lineup update: Elfrid Payton will remain in starting lineup Wednesday

Despite clamors for him to be out of the rotation, Payton will remain in the starting lineup at point guard for the Knicks. Rose will come off the bench and should play more minutes, but his floor is slightly reduced coming off the bench. Payton started last game and only played eight minutes, so he’s incredibly risky still.

Nerlens Noel (ankle) a game-time decision Wednesday; expected to play

Noel will be a game-time decision for the Knicks against the Atlanta Hawks, although he’s expected to play per Coach Thibodeau. Noel went through shootaround, and should play barring any setbacks. Coach Thibodeau also mentioned he’d have the same starters, which implies Noel should play. If he ends up sitting, Taj Gibson would be a great play at near minimum price.

Kleber is available to play against the Los Angeles Clippers. He should be in line to start again. Coach Carlisle mentioned that he hasn’t spoken to the Mavs trainer about any specific minutes restrictions, but that Kleber’s minutes will be monitored closely.

Lineup Update: Jazz will start Conley, Ingles, Bogdanovic, O’Neale, Gobert on Sunday

5/23/21, 9:08 PM ET

Joe Ingles will remain in the starting lineup with Donovan Mitchell (who was originally expected to play) still out Sunday. Every key player for the Jazz will become a much better play with Mitchell out with the main targets being the Jazz starters and Jordan Clarkson. Ingles, Mike Conley, Bojan Bogdanovich, and Rudy Gobert should be responsible for most of the Jazz production with Jordan Clarkson contributing off the bench.

Ersan Ilyasova

Ersan Ilyasova (illness) available to play Sunday

Ersan Ilyasova will be available Sunday when the Jazz take on the Memphis Grizzlies in the series opener. Despite being available we do not expect Ilyasova to play many minutes if any at all even with the news that Donovan Mitchell will not be available. Joe Ingles, Mike Conley, Bojan Bogdanovich, and Rudy Gobert should be responsible for most of the Jazz production with Jordan Clarkson contributing off the bench.

Lineup Update: Hawks will start Young, Bogdanovic, Hunter, Collins, Capela on Sunday

5/23/21, 6:46 PM ET

De’Andre Hunter will get the start for the Hawks Sunday when they face the Knicks in their series opener. We weren’t expecting him to draw the start but this will likely lead to a few more minutes for Hunter and will cause Kevin Huerter to come off the bench likely hurting his value.

Donovan Mitchell

Cleveland Cavaliers
5/23/21, 5:45 PM ET

Donovan Mitchell (ankle) ruled out Sunday

Donovan Mitchell has been ruled out Sunday after all indications were that he was going to play and likely start in the Jazz series opener against the Memphis Grizzlies. With Mitchell out Joe Ingles will likely remain in the starting lineup with Jordan Clarkson seeing more run off the bench. When looking at CourtIQ with Mitchell off the court the biggest benefactors from a FPM boost increase are Bojan Bogdanovic (.15), Mike Conley (.06), Jordan Clarkson (.06), Royce O’Neale (.04), and Rudy Gobert (.04).

Lineup Update: Lakers will start Schroder, Caldwell-Pope, James, Davis, Drummond on Sunday

5/23/21, 3:04 PM ET

As expected after being listed probable on last nights injury report both LeBron James and Anthony Davis will be available and start Sunday in the series opener against the Phoenix Suns. Both AD and LeBron should play big minutes and be the main producers for the Lakers. Both are over $10K on DK, so they carry a steep price but have the ability to take over the game and exceed value. The Lakers offense should be run through LeBron, AD, and Dennis Schroder with Andre Drummond also getting some opportunities while grabbing rebounds.

Donovan Mitchell

Cleveland Cavaliers

Donovan Mitchell (ankle) will play Sunday

As expected, Donovan Mitchell will play Sunday and make his return when the Jazz take on the Memphis Grizzlies. We do not know yet and will likely not find out prior to the game whether he will have a minutes limit as Mitchell stated he was withholding that information for “gameplan purposes”. Mitchell, Mike Conley, Bojan Bogdanovich, and Rudy Gobert should be responsible for most of the Jazz production with Joe Ingles and Jordan Clarkson contributing off the bench.

Austin Rivers

Austin Rivers (illness) available to play Saturday

Rivers was upgraded to available with an illness, and will play against the Portland Trail Blazers. He should be in line to start and play heavy minutes, alongside Facundo Campazzo to make up the starting backcourt.

Minnesota Timberwolves
5/22/21, 9:07 PM ET

Austin Rivers (illness) expected to play Saturday

Rivers is expected to be able to play through his illness, as the Nuggets prepare to play the Portland Trail Blazers. Coach Malone believes he’ll be able to push through it, but the information won’t be confirmed until pre-game warmups. Rivers has been thrust into heavy minutes with no Murray, Barton, and PJ Dozier, so if he can’t play, it’ll be basically all Facundo Campazzo at the guard minutes, with Shaq Harrison and Monte Morris chipping in.

Tristan Thompson

Cleveland Cavaliers
5/22/21, 7:43 PM ET

Lineup update: Celtics will start Walker, Smart, Fournier, Tatum, and Thompson Saturday

Despite Williams being cleared to play through his injury, Thompson will get the start for the Celtics. He becomes a great value as a result, as he should play a few more minutes and will be able to capitalize against a smaller Brooklyn frontcourt if he gets the minutes. Williams is a risky play as a result of coming off the bench.
