Andrew Wiggins

Miami Heat
5/03/21, 6:11 PM ET

Andrew Wiggins (knee) a game-time decision Monday

Wiggins is a game-time decision ahead of the Warriors game against the New Orleans Pelicans. Already playing an eight man rotation, the Warriors would be extremely shorthanded if he ends up sitting. Juan Toscano-Anderson and Mychal Mulder would be the options to start in his place, while Jordan Poole would likely get more minutes as well. Nico Mannion would re-enter the rotation most likely, as he’s the only other healthy player that Kerr would like to play, other than Alen Smailagic. Steph and Draymond would pick up a few extra minutes, as well as Kent Bazemore.

Steven Adams

Houston Rockets
5/03/21, 6:07 PM ET

Steven Adams (toe) ruled out Monday

Adams will miss his third straight game with a toe injury, and will miss the Pelicans game against the Golden State Warriors. We’ve seen Willy Hernangomez start for him and play around 28 minutes a game, with Jaxson Hayes backing him up and playing the remainder of the center minutes. Hernangomez’s salary has come up across the industry, but he still should be a viable play as he produces well per minute and is in a fast paced matchup for the team. From a production standpoint, Lonzo shows big splits upwards with Adams off the floor, particularly in his assist rate. Overall, Hernangomez will be a viable value piece, with Lonzo and Zion showing boosts upwards as well.

Malcolm Brogdon

New York Knicks
5/03/21, 5:59 PM ET

Malcolm Brogdon (hamstring), Jeremy Lamb (knee), and Goga Bitadze (ankle) all ruled out Monday; Edmond Sumner (knee) available to play

The Pacers had three questionable players again, but all three were downgraded to out and the Pacers will be shorthanded as they prepare to play the Washington Wizards. Brogdon will miss his second straight game with a hamstring injury, while Lamb and Goga will miss their seventh straight game. Sumner was upgraded from probable to available, and should start again in place of Brogdon. The Pacers biggest winners are certainly Domntas Sabonis and Caris LeVert. Sabonis averages 1.39 FPM with Brogdon, Turner, and Oladipo off the court per CourtIQ, up from his 1.29 average. LeVert averages 1.27 FPM, up from his 1.10 average, and should be in line for big minutes in a fast paced matchup. Oshae Brissett will likely continue to play big minutes, while Doug McDermott should stay in the starting lineup and could be a viable punt as well. But Sabonis and LeVert are certainly the biggest winners with no Brogdon on the floor.

Gary Harris

Detroit Pistons
5/03/21, 5:48 PM ET

Gary Harris (neck) will start Monday

Harris was upgraded from probable to available, and will start against the Detroit Pistons despite dealing with some neck issues. Coach Corbin mentioned that he would possibly be on a minutes restriction, but was not definitive on a number or anything specific to the restrictions. If he does lose a few minutes, RJ Hampton will certainly pick them up off the bench, with Dwayne Bacon possibly getting a few more minutes. The Magic only have nine healthy bodies, so if Harris loses any minutes, it’ll mean even more to the reserves than usual.

LeBron James

Philadelphia 76ers
5/03/21, 2:40 PM ET

LeBron James (ankle) ruled out Monday

An afternoon Shams bomb confirmed that Lebron would sit today as the Lakers prepare to play against the Denver Nuggets. Lebron has a sore right ankle, the same ankle that caused him to miss 21 games. The Lakers are also without Dennis Schroder, who has been ruled out due to the health and safety protocols and will miss two weeks. Kyle Kuzma should step in for Lebron in the starting lineup, while Caruso should start for Schroder. From a production standpoint, Anthony Davis should lead the team in production and usage; he averages a 37% usage per CourtIQ with Lebron and Schroder off the court, albeit in only a 70 minute sample. Kuzma should have to play heavy minutes as well, while Talen Horton-Tucker and Caruso will have to play more and are viable values as a result. If Kuzma and Caruso are the confirmed starters, they will be the biggest benefactor of no Lebron, along with AD.

Gary Harris

Detroit Pistons
5/03/21, 1:45 PM ET

Gary Harris (neck) listed probable Monday

Harris was listed as probable ahead of the Magic’s tankfest of a game against the Detroit Pistons. The Magic are down to nine healthy bodies, and would be down to eight if Harris was surprisingly ruled out. If he sits, it would likely be RJ Hampton joining the starting lineup, while he and Dwayne Bacon play all the minutes they could handle.

Nerlens Noel

Sacramento Kings
5/03/21, 1:41 PM ET

Nerlens Noel (ankle) listed questionable Monday

Noel was listed as questionable with an ankle injury as the Knicks prepare to play the Memphis Grizzlies. Noel suffered the injury yesterday, limiting him to only 11 minutes. If he ends up sitting, the center minutes should belong to Taj Gibson. Gibson played 31 minutes yesterday, and would likely play minutes in the thirties again, as we know coach Thibodeau has an affinity for him and for playing his starters major minutes. Norvel Pelle and Obi Toppin would likely split the backup center minutes if Noel does sit. Julius Randle may play an extra couple minutes as well as a small-ball center; he averages 37 minutes anyways, so he could be in line for huge ceiling.

Norman Powell

Chicago Bulls
5/03/21, 1:22 PM ET

Norman Powell (knee) listed questionable Monday

Powell was added to the injury report with a knee injury, and is questionable to play against the Atlanta Hawks. Powell played 39 minutes yesterday in the game against the Celtics, so if he sits, there would be a lot of minutes to spread out. The Blazers only ran an eight man rotation yesterday, but if Powell sat, Derrick Jones or Nassir Little would likely re-enter the rotation, with one of them likely being a starter. Carmelo Anthony and Robert Covington would also play a few more minutes as well. Coach Terry Stotts always prefers to play his starters heavy minutes, so it’s a chance that Carmelo starts if Powell sits, but that news should be available closer to game-time.

Tony Snell

New Orleans Pelicans
5/03/21, 1:12 PM ET

Tony Snell (ankle) available to play Monday; Bogdan Bogdanovic (hamstring) remains probable

Snell was previously listed as questionable due to an ankle injury, but was removed from the injury report and is available to play against the Portland Trail Blazers. Bogdanovic remains probable due to a hamstring injury, and should be okay to play as he played 36 minutes in the Hawks last game. With the majority of the Hawks back, Snell is tough to prioritize as a play; although he may be play 30 minutes or so, he produces poorly from a per-minute perspective and shouldn’t be in consideration.

Dennis Schroder

Cleveland Cavaliers
5/03/21, 12:09 PM ET

Dennis Schroder (protocols) ruled out Monday

According to Shams, Schroder will miss 10-14 days due to the health and safety protocols, and therefore will miss tonight’s game against the Denver Nuggets. Schroder missed yesterday’s game, which led to a start for Alex Caruso who played 26 minutes. The Lakers had a big injury report yesterday, and Lebron James left last night due to an ankle injury, so his status bears watching more than anything. If Lebron does sit, Kyle Kuzma should hop back into the starting lineup, while Anthony Davis would be the top option for the Lakers.

Lineup Update: Lakers will start Caruso, Caldwell-Pope, James, Davis, Drummond on Sunday

Lineup Update: Raptors will start Lowry, Flynn, Johnson, Siakam, Birch on Sunday

5/02/21, 9:47 PM ET

Stanley Johnson will enter the starting lineup for OG Anunoby who was a late scratch and Malachi Flynn will remain in the starting lineup as Fred VanVleet misses Sunday night’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

As reported by: Kyle Goon

OG Anunoby

New York Knicks
5/02/21, 10:09 PM ET

OG Anunoby ruled out Sunday

OG Anunoby has been ruled out late Sunday ahead of the Raptors game against the Los Angeles Lakers. Anunoby will join Fred VanVleet and Gary Trent Jr. as unavailable for tonight’s game, Coach Nurse who generally likes to run tight rotations will likely be forced to use more bench players than he is accustomed to especially on the second leg of a back to back with all of his starters seeing 35 minutes plus last night. Stanley Johnson, Yuta Watanabe, DeAndre Bembry, and Rodney Hood will likely be asked to fill in the minutes normally played by Anunoby and Jalen Harris could enter the rotation. When we run CourtIQ with VanVleet, Anunoby, and Trent Jr. off the floor we see that the biggest benefactors from an FPM boost perspective are Lowry (.08), Siakam (.03), Johnson (.07), Watanabe (.05) and Hood (.09). The Raptors should have most of their offense run through Kyle Lowry and Pascal Siakam with VanVleet, Anunoby, and Trent Jr. all unavailable Sunday.

Anthony Davis

Washington Wizards
5/02/21, 9:02 PM ET

Anthony Davis, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Kyle Kuzma, and Marc Gasol all available to play Sunday

Anthony Davis, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Kyle Kuzma, and Marc Gasol are all available to play Sunday when the Lakers take on the Toronto Raptors after being listed as probable for most of the day. It is likely that Davis and Gasol see their normal roles and minutes while Caldwell-Pope and Kuzma could see some increased run with the news that Dennis Schroder will be unavailable for tonight’s game. Lebron and Alex Caruso are available and should handle most of the point guard duties while the other Lakers guards could also see some extended run. With Schroder off the floor CourtIQ shows us that the biggest benefactors from an FPM increase perspective are Drummond (.35 very small sample size), Marc Gasol (.11), Alex Caruso (.03), and Ben McLemore (.03). The Laker offense should primarily be run through Lebron, Anthony Davis, and Andre Drummond.

LeBron James

Philadelphia 76ers
5/02/21, 9:01 PM ET

Lebron James and Alex Caruso available Sunday

Lebron James and Alex Caruso will be available Sunday against the Toronto Raptors after being listed questionable most of the day. This comes after the news that Dennis Schroder will be out tonight which could have made the Lakers extremely thin at point guard if Caruso and Lebron were to miss. They should handle most of the point guard duties and Caruso should see extended run in his return with Schroder unavailable.
