Ersan Ilyasova (hamstring) available to play Wednesday
Ilyasova was upgraded from questionable with a hamstring injury to available as the Jazz prepare to play against the Houston Rockets. With Derrick Favors back, it’s unlikely Ilyasova plays as the backup center minutes should go to Favors.
As reported by: Ben Anderson via TwitterLineup update: Sixers will start Milton, Korkmaz, Green, Thybulle, and Embiid on Wednesday
Milton, Korkmaz, and Thybulle will get the start for the 76ers as they replace Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris, and Seth Curry. Milton produces at the best rates usually, and is certainly the best play of the guards. Embiid will dominate usage for the lineup overall, and is one of the best plays on the entire slate.
As reported by: Tom Moore via Twitter Other tagged players: Furkan KorkmazLineup update: Pacers will start Brogdon, LeVert, Sumner, Justin Holiday, and Brissett Wednesday
As expected, Brissett gets the start at center as the Pacers try to manage a frontcourt that’s severely depleted. Justin Holiday continues at his small-ball power forward role, but Brissett is arguably the biggest value on the slate.
As reported by: the Indiana Pacers via TwitterLineup update: Nets will start Irving, Shamet, Harris, Green and Griffin Wednesday
Blake Griffin gets the start at center in place of DeAndre Jordan, despite the back-to-back status. Blake’s floor is certainly raised due to the start, but it’s tough to envision him playing big minutes, as the Nets are looking to be cautious with his minutes as he works his way into shape for the playoffs. Jordan is out of consideration now that he won’t be starting.
As reported by: Alex Schiffer via Twitter Other tagged players: DeAndre JordanLineup update: Raptors will start Lowry, VanVleet, Anunoby, SIakam, and Birch on Wednesday
In a mild surprise, Birch gets the start over Chris Boucher Wednesday. Boucher has played off the bench and played bigger minutes before, but with all the Raptors regular starters back, it’s tough to keep him in consideration. Birch could be a viable center play, but his salary has come up while his competition for minutes has increased dramatically.
As reported by: the Toronto Raptors via Twitter Other tagged players: Chris BoucherJoel Embiid (knee) will start Wednesday; Seth Curry (hip), Ben Simmons (illness), and Tobias Harris (knee) ruled out Wednesday
Simmons, Curry, and Harris will all miss the game and were downgraded from questionable to out as the 76ers prepare to play the Phoenix Suns. Harris will miss his third straight game with a knee injury, Simmons will miss his second straight with an illness, and Curry will sit with a hip injury. With Embiid available and starting, he should put up a mammoth usage rate. Embiid has only played 121 minutes without Simmons and Harris (Curry is included in this split), but has averaged an astronomical 2.12 FPM with a 45% usage rate, up from his 1.61 FPM rate and 35% usage per CourtIQ. With the other players in the lineup around him, Embiid will dominate the usage. The 76ers have some other value options; Shake Milton averages 1.14 FPM in the same split, and will get the start at point guard, making him a great value. Furkhan Korkmaz and Matisse Thybulle may end up playing hefty minutes at the wings as well. Overall though, this should be the Embiid show for sure.
As reported by: Keith Pompey via Twitter Other tagged players: Tobias Harris, Joel Embiid, Seth CurryDario Saric (ankle) available to play Wednesday
As expected, Saric was upgraded from probable with an ankle injury to available, and will play against the Philadelphia 76ers. Saric started last game in the first half, but ended up playing off the bench in the second half. He should play his 17-19 minute role as usual.
As reported by: the Phoenix Suns via TwitterTroy Brown Jr. (ankle) ruled out Wednesday
As expected, Brown Jr. was downgraded from doubtful with an ankle injury to out, and will miss the Bulls game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Brown had been playing minutes in the teens off the bench the last few games, so that will likely be replaced by Denzel Valentine, with a few more minutes going to Coby White and Garrett Temple.
As reported by: KC Johnson via TwitterKevin Porter Jr (protocols) ruled out Wednesday; John Wall (migraine) available
Although Wall was cleared to play through his migraine, Kevin Porter Jr. was ruled out due to the health and safety protocols as they Rockets prepare to play the Utah Jazz. KPJ had consistently been playing minutes in the thirties, and sometimes in the forties as the Rockets have been shorthanded for quite some time. Avery Bradley will likely slide in the starting lineup; he had started in place of Wall when he sat. Wall shows a big usage bump with no KPJ on the floor; per CourtIQ, he averages 1.32 FPM with KPJ, Eric Gordon, and Danuel House off the floor, up from his average of 1.15. Armoni Brooks will likely get a bump up as well; he’s played 26 minutes in each of the last two games, and should continue to get some run as the Rockets try to get a look at the younger players on the roster. Kelly Olynyk and Christian Wood will also have an opportunity to put up more shots, but in a tough matchup against the Jazz, they will be tough to prioritize.
As reported by: the Official NBA Injury Report Other tagged players: John WallLu Dort (hip) ruled out Wednesday; Isaiah Roby (toe) now questionable
The Thunder will be without one key contributor as they prepare to play the Indiana Pacers, but may be getting one back. Dort was downgraded from questionable to out with his hip injury that caused him to miss the last game, while Roby was upgraded from out to questionable with a toe injury that kept him out last game as well. Coach Daigneault confirmed his starters pre-game, mentioning that Mykahiliuk would start in place of Dort, while Pokuseveski and Bazley would continue to start alongside Moses Brown in the frontcourt; if Roby can play, he’ll come off the bench. With Dort out, there are some usage bumps for both Maledon and Bazley. Bazley in particular has big boosts; he averages 1.11 FPM with all the Thunder injured players out, up from his average of 0.83 per CourtIQ. If Roby ends up sitting, Bazley and Brown will get slight ticks up further.
As reported by: the Official NBA Injury Report Other tagged players: Isaiah RobyDamion Lee (toe) ruled out Wednesday
Lee was downgraded from questionable with a toe injury to out, and will miss the Warriors game against the Washington Wizards. Juan Toscano-Anderson remains out, so the Warriors will be without some key contributors off the bench. Lee had started to pick up some more minutes last game, even with Oubre’s return; Lee played 32 minutes last game off the bench. His absence will likely lead to a few more minutes for Kent Bazemore, and Oubre as he starts to work his way towards his mid thirties minutes. Mychal Mulder may play a few more as well, but this will ultimately continue to be the Steph Curry and Draymond Green show.
As reported by: the Official NBA Injury ReportReggie Perry (protocols) now available Wednesday
Perry was upgraded from questionable to available after clearing the health and safety protocols, and will be the Nets’ tenth body against the Toronto Raptors. Perry may not play big minutes, but he will provide frontcourt depth and will allow the Nets to take it a bit easier on Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan on the second half of a back-to-back.
As reported by: the Official NBA Injury ReportGoga Bitadze (ankle), Jeremy Lamb (knee), and Doug McDermott (ankle) ruled out Wednesday
The Pacers are going to be severely shorthanded as they prepare to play the Oklahoma City Thunder. Already without Myles Turner, JaKarr Sampson, and Domantas Sabonis, the Pacers will be without Goga and McDermott due to ankle injuries in the frontcourt, while Lamb will miss the game with a knee injury. The frontcourt in particular is decimated, which should lead to plenty of Oshae Brissett; he started for them last game and is the only real “big” left for the team. The Pacers will likely start Justin Holiday as a small-ball four again, and will like to play as small as they can for as long as they can. Kelan Martin and Brian Bowen may get some minutes as a small ball center, but the Pacers will likely run with Brissett as much as they can; he is their tallest player, but is only listed as 6’7. There’s not enough data in CourtIQ with all the frontcourt players out, but the offense should flow through Malcolm Brogdon and Caris LeVert, with TJ McConnell playing big minutes off the bench, but the frontcourt absences mean Brissett will be the most popular value play of the team and arguably the entire slate.
As reported by: Scott Agness via Twitter Other tagged players: Jeremy Lamb, Doug McDermottJaylen Nowell (tibia) doubtful Wednesday
Nowell was listed as doubtful yet again as the Wolves prepare for a rematch against the Sacramento Kings. Nowell has missed the last three games with his tibia injury, and will likely do the same again today; Ricky Rubio and D’Angelo Russell will continue to handle the bulk of the guard minutes for the team.
As reported by: the Minnesota Timberwolves via TwitterPaul George (rest), Reggie Jackson (rest), and Rajon Rondo (wrist) all ruled out Wednesday
The Clippers have a tendency to rest half their team at once, and today looks to be one of those days as they prepare to play the Memphis Grizzlies. George and Jackson were all ruled out due to rest, while Rondo will miss the game due to his wrist injury. This is on top of Kawhi, Pat Beverely, and Serge Ibaka all out, as they have been for quite some time. With half the team out, it’s tough to use CourtIQ since they haven’t been without this many key contributors all year; even if Kawhi and PG were out, Reggie Jackson would usually be playing. It’s a better process to see who will get the minutes, as the Clippers only have 10 healthy bodies. At point guard, Yogi Ferrell was recently signed to a 10-day, so he will likely have to play big minutes as the only “true” point guard. Terrence Mann and Luke Kennard will likely start as they have when filling in for Kawhi and PG, and they both have shown upside to play big minutes and can produce. Marcus Morris shows heavy usage in small samples without the injured players, and should continue to start and chuck up plenty of shots. Ivica Zubac should handle the center position as he has without Ibaka. The bench will likely involve Nic Batum, Patrick Patterson, and Amir Coffey, with Demarcus Cousins playing some backup center as well. The big winners will likely be Ferrell, Kennard, Mann, and Morris, and will all be popular values despite the giant slate.
