Dewayne Dedmon (protocols), Jimmy Butler (ankle), and Bam Adebayo (knee) all available to play Wednesday; Andre Iguodala (hip) ruled out
The Heat will get their two stars back as they prepare to play the San Antonio Spurs. Butler and Bam will both be back after missing games; Bam missed just one with his knee injury, while Butler missed two with his ankle injury. Dedmon was also upgraded to questionable due to the protocols, while Iguodala was ruled out due to a hip injury. Tyler Herro remains questionable with a foot injury. With Butler and Bam both back, the Heat will run through both of them, while many of the other Heat will lose some usage. Kendrick Nunn played 38 minutes last game, but likely won’t come near that. Precious Achiuwa got the start last game, but should move back to the bench as well. Butler and Bam will both be viable plays, but the game environment is not the best, and on a massive slate, they may not be worth their salaries.
As reported by: the Miami Heat via Twitter Other tagged players: Bam Adebayo, Dewayne Dedmon, Andre IguodalaDamian Lillard (hamstring) available Wednesday; Derrick Jones Jr. (hip) probable
After missing the last three games due to a hamstring injury, Lillard will make his return tonight as the Blazers play the Denver Nuggets. Jones Jr. is listed as probable as he played 20 minutes yesterday, and should be able to play again. With Lillard returning, the Blazers will go back to their usual rotation; Jones Jr. should go to the bench, and Lillard should start at the point. This makes a lot of the Blazers fringe players almost out of contention, as Lillard will soak up so much usage, while Norman Powell, CJ McCollum, and Jusuf Nurkic soak up the rest. Anfernee Simons, Carmelo Anthony, and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson will lose almost all of the value that they had with Lillard out.
As reported by: Jamie Hudson via Twitter Other tagged players: Derrick Jones Jr.Tim Hardaway Jr. (illness) upgraded to probable Wednesday
THJ was originally listed as questionable with an illness, but has been upgraded to probable as the Mavs prepare to play the Detroit Pistons. THJ will likely play his usual role of playing 20-24 minutes off the bench; if he does sit, it would be a few more minutes for JJ Redick, Josh Richardson, and Jalen Brunson.
As reported by: the Official NBA Injury ReportJohn Wall (migraine) listed probable Wednesday
Wall was listed as probable due to a migraine, as the Rockets prepare to play the Utah Jazz. If Wall ends up sitting, Kevin Porter Jr. and Armoni Brooks would likely play a few more minutes, but it’s not expected for him to sit at this time. The Jazz are a tough matchup, and blowout risk will certainly be there for the Rockets, so Wall will be a risky play at best on tonight’s slate.
As reported by: the Official NBA Injury ReportAlec Burks (protocols) remains out Wednesday
Burks will miss his fourth straight game due to the health and safety protocols as the Knicks prepare to play the Atlanta Hawks. The absence of Burks will continue to lead for heavy minutes for Reggie Bullock and RJ Barrett.
As reported by: the Official NBA Injury ReportJoel Embiid (knee) and Seth Curry (hip) listed questionable Wednesday
The 76ers will have their four best players all listed as questionable as they prepare to play the Phoenix Suns. Embiid was listed as questionable with a knee injury, while Curry was listed questionable with a hip injury. This is on top of having Ben Simmons questionable with an illness (after missing last game) and Tobias Harris questionable with a knee injury (after missing the last two games). With so many questionable tags, it’s tough to forecast how the team would look, but we can try to look at each position group. If Embiid sits, it’ll be Dwight Howard and Mike Scott filling in at center. If Simmons and Harris sit, it’ll likely be Danny Green, Matisse Thybulle, and Furkhan Korkmaz that get a few more minutes. If Curry sits, it’s likely Shake Milton that gets more minutes, along with Thybulle and Korkmaz as well. It’s nearly impossible to predict who will sit for this game, but fortunately the 76ers play at the first game of the slate, so we should get the news before lock.
As reported by: the Official NBA Injury Report Other tagged players: Seth Curry, Tobias Harris, Ben SimmonsRodney Hood (knee) now questionable Wednesday
Hood was previously listed as out with a knee injury, but was upgraded to questionable as the Raptors prepare to play the Brooklyn Nets. The Raptors have played so many games while being shorthanded, but almost all of their regulars are back, so Hood will likely only play minutes in the teens if he’s available, and possibly not even that many.
As reported by: the Official NBA Injury ReportDanilo Gallinari (foot) remains out Wednesday
On the second half of a back-to-back, Gallinari will miss his sixth straight game with a foot injury tonight, as the Hawks prepare to play the New York Knicks. The Hawks will have the same bodies as yesterday, and should run a similar nine man rotation. With John Collins back and starting, he’ll continue to play minutes in the mid to high twenties, while Solomon Hill will play a few more minutes in the frontcourt as well.
As reported by: Brad Rowland via TwitterKevin Durant (thigh) and Nic Claxton (protocols) ruled out Wednesday; Reggie Perry (protocols) questionable; Blake Griffin and Kyrie Irving not listed on injury report
The Nets will have a similar rotation tonight against the Toronto Raptors as they did yesterday. Durant and Claxton remain out, while Kyrie and Griffin will be available to play on the back to back; this will be Blake’s first back to back that he plays both ends of with the Nets. The only change is that Reggie Perry has been upgraded to questionable; his presence will make a difference as the Nets only have nine bodies without him. With no Durant and Harden, this should be the Kyrie show yet again; he played 37 minutes last night and scored 52 DK points. Landry Shamet, Joe Harris, and Jeff Green will all have to play big minutes again, while Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, and Alize Johnson will compete for the frontcourt minutes. There’s been no minutes limits mentioned, but there’s a chance that Griffin doesn’t reach too high a ceiling for minutes, as the Nets try to preserve him for the playoffs.
As reported by: Billy Reinhardt via Twitter Other tagged players: Nic Claxton, Reggie Perry, Blake Griffin, Kyrie IrvingJaKarr Sampson (suspension) ruled out Wednesday
Already without Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis, the Pacers will be without Sampson as they prepare to play the Oklahoma City Thunder. Sampson was suspended one game due to headbutting Patty Mills, and he will serve that suspension tonight. Goga Bitadze is questionable with an ankle injury; if he plays he’d likely start at center. Oshae Brissett will also help out in the frontcourt after getting the start last game, and if Goga sits, he’ll have to play extended minutes. Goga’s injury will end up being huge for the Pacers frontcourt.
As reported by: Scott Agness via TwitterJaylen Nowell officially ruled out Tuesday
Jaylen Nowell officially ruled out Tuesday. He’ll miss his third straight game and came in as doubtful, so he was not in our initial projections and only figures to play a minor bench role when healthy.
Terance Mann will start alongside Jackson, George, Morris and Zubac on Tuesday
Terance Mann will start alongside Jackson, George, Morris and Zubac on Tuesday. We had initially projected Luke Kennard as the starter, but it’ll be Mann that gets the nod. Mann is now projected for 28 minutes with Kennard down to 24, as he should still be relatively involved on the wing with Kawhi out of action. Mann is on the radar as a DFS punt play.
Other tagged players: Luke KennardDerrick Jones Jr. and Enes Kanter will start alongside McCollum, Powell and Covington on Tuesday
Derrick Jones Jr. and Enes Kanter will start alongside McCollum, Powell and Covington on Tuesday. Kanter is one of the top $/point plays at C on Tuesday, joining CJ McCollum as an elite play in all formats. Derrick Jones Jr. will start, but isn’t a recommended DFS option with playing time most likely to land in the mid 20s.
Other tagged players: Derrick Jones Jr.Hornets will start Graham, Rozier, Bridges, McDaniels and Carey on Tuesday
Hornets will start Graham, Rozier, Bridges, McDaniels and Carey on Tuesday. Vernon Carey Jr. will draw another start, but it’s not clear what type of workload to expect from him. He played 7 minutes as a starter in the Hornets last game, but some of that was related to foul trouble and strong play from PJ Washington, who should still be expected to be very involved off the bench. Carey is not a safe DFS option, but there is a ceiling there.
Other tagged players: PJ WashingtonNets will start Irving, Shamet, Harris, Green and Jordan on Tuesday
Nets will start Irving, Shamet, Harris, Green and Jordan on Tuesday. DeAndre Jordan getting a starting nod maybe a little surprising to some, but the Nets will have to play big against a Pelicans frontcourt that starts Zion Williamson and Steven Adams. Landry Shamet will also draw a start after playing massive minutes off the bench on Sunday, while Bruce Brown will come off the bench. Shamet was already projected for a healthy allotment of playing time, but he’s received another small bump as a result of this news.
