Jerami Grant (knee) listed out Sunday; Dennis Smith Jr. questionable

Jerami Grant will miss his third straight game when the Pistons take on the Los Angeles Clippers Sunday night. This will likely allow Cory Joseph to remain in the starting lineup while Josh Jackson and Sadiq Bey continue to see most of the forward minutes with Isaiah Stewart, Hamidou Diallo, and Sekou Doumbouya also seeing more run. The biggest beneficiaries with Grant off the court who see usage rate and FPM increases are Mason Plumlee (2.5%. .12 FPM) and Josh Jackson (2.9%, .05 FPM). If Dennis Smith Jr. were to miss Sunday’s game Wayne Ellington and Frank Jackson would see more minutes especially with the news that Killian Hayes will be out tonight and be potential value plays

Gary Harris will draw the start Sunday for the injured Chuma Okeke

Chuma Okeke (hip) ruled out Sunday

Chuma Okeke will not be available for Sunday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks. This will put a lot of strain on the Magic’s frontcourt as we wait to hear the news regarding Mo Bamba (currently questionable). James Ennis and Wendall Carter Jr. (Mo Bamba if active) will get most of the power forward and center minutes with Okeke out. Terrence Ross or Gary Harris are potential options to replace Okeke in the starting lineup and it is likely that Chasson Randle rejoins the rotation to pick up any leftover minutes. Bamba (if active), Harris, and Ennis all see FPM increases with Okeke off the floor.

As expected Campazzo will take Jamal Murray’s spot in the starting lineup Sunday as he was ruled out.

As expected Tatum and Brown will be in the starting lineup Sunday despite being listed as questionable earlier.

Jamal Murray (knee) ruled out Sunday

Jamal Murray remains out today against the Boston Celtics which will make it four straight games that he has missed. Facundo Campazzo will likely continue to start for Murray with Monte Morris also seeing increased run off the bench. Nikola Jokic, Will Barton, Morris, and Michael Porter Jr. all see sizeable usage rate increases along with FPM increases with Murray off the floor. Jokic is always a DFS option and the other Nuggets starters are worth consideration with Murray off the court.

Jayson Tatum (illness) and Jaylen Brown (knee) available to play Sunday

As expected Jayson Tatum (illness) and Jaylen Brown (knee) are available to play Sunday

Sam Merrill (thumb) listed probable Sunday

Sam Merrill joins Khris Middleton, Donte DiVincenzo, Jrue Holiday, and Brook Lopez on the injury report as probable while Giannis Antetokounmpo remains doubtful. If Giannis were to miss tonight’s game with the Orlando Magic Bobby Portis will most likely draw the start and as we can see by looking at CourtIQ the main beneficiaries of Giannis’s absence would be Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton. Jrue Holiday sees a 6.2% usage rate increase and .21 FPM increase while Middleton enjoys a 6.8% usage rate increase and a .16 bump in FPM. It is also worth noting that Donte DiVincenzo sees a 2.2% usage bump and a .11 FPM increase while Giannis is off the floor. Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton are the top options for the Bucks if Giannis were to be ruled out.

Fred VanVleet (hip) and OG Anunoby (rest) listed out Sunday; Kyle Lowry (foot) listed questionable

As expected Fred VanVleet remains out Sunday for the Raptors contest with the New York Knicks. Also added to the injury report and ruled out is OG Anunoby (rest) who has played a lot of minutes while the Raptors have been shorthanded, the good news is that the Raptors might get their starting point guard back in Kyle Lowry (questionable) who has missed the last six games due to a foot issue. Lowry will likely reassume his position in the starting lineup and be the primary ballhandler. Malachi Flynn will likely see his role diminish but will still garner some minutes as Fred VanVleet remains out for tonight’s contest. The bump in scoring that Pascal Siakam and Gary Trent Jr. enjoyed due to Lowry’s absence will be gone but they still have some value as the Raptors are still not at full strength. DeAndre Bembry has a chance to remain in the starting lineup with OG Anunoby out.

Collin Sexton (groin) listed questionable Sunday

Collin Sexton (groin) joins Darius Garland as they are both listed questionable for tonight’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans. If both are out we might see Matthew Dellavedova run point unless the Cavaliers elect to go with a non-traditional point guard. Cedi Osman is also a candidate to run the point as we have seen him be the main playmaker on the floor before. The main benefactors from a usage rate and FPM bump with Sexton and Garland off the floor are Isaac Okoro (3.4% and .09)and Osman (1.9% and .07). It is also likely that Kevin Love sees a bump if Garland and/or Sexton are out.

Jaylen Brown (knee) and Jayson Tatum (illness) both likely to play Sunday

After being listed questionable last night Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are expected to play Sunday against the Denver Nuggets per coach Brad Stevens. They will most likely start and play their normal minutes. With all four of Boston’s top guys likely healthy in this game it is tough to pick one that will reach or exceed value over the others in this spot. Grant Williams and Semi Ojeleye who could have potentially started in Brown and/or Tatum’s absence will likely remain in their bench roles.

As expected Brandon Goodwin will draw the start for the Hawks but we should see Lou Williams get considerable run at the point with Trae Young out

Trae Young (calf) and Danilo Gallinari (foot) ruled out Sunday

Trae Young and Danilo Gallinari will not be available today against the Charlotte Hornets. Along with Young and Gallinari the Hawks will be without John Collins, DeAndre Hunter, Cam Reddish, and Tony Snell. This opens up a lot of potential production and usage. We could see Brandon Goodwin start and see Lou Williams get a lot of run at point guard with and Bogdan Bogdanovic as well as Kevin Huerter (both with 3.1% usage rate increases with Gallinari and Young off the floor) seeing more opportunities offensively. With Gallinari out Huerter, Bogdanovic, Solomon Hill, and Nathan Knight should all see increased minutes. All starters including Clint Capela should see an increased role and usage with the Hawks plagued by injuries and the bench players could offer some cheap value.

Plumlee who was listed questionable earlier in the day will be in the starting lineup Saturday.

As reported earlier Kent Bazemore will start Saturday for injured Kelly Oubre (wrist)
