Davis Bertans (calf) listed questionable Saturday
After leaving last night’s game due to his right calf tightening up, Bertans was listed as questionable Saturday against the Milwaukee Bucks. Bertans only played 10 minutes in the first half off the bench, and was ultimately ruled out at halftime. With so much of the Wizards production coming from Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal, Bertans absence won’t open up much in terms of usage, but he does average around 27 minutes a game that would need to be filled. Most likely, Garrison Matthews and Deni Avdija would pick up his minutes, along with Troy Brown possibly re-entering the rotation to steal a few as well.
As reported by: the Official NBA Injury ReportNikola Jokic (ankle) and Monte Morris (quad) listed questionable Saturday; JaMychal Green (illness) and Zeke Nnaji (illness) listed probable; Gary Harris (adductor) and R.J. Hampton (protocols) remain out.
On the second night of a back-to-back, the Nuggets have a plethora of injuries, with their MVP candidate leading the way as the biggest news as they take on the Dallas Mavericks. Jokic is being listed as questionable due to an ankle injury, along with Monte Morris who is questionable with a quad injury. Harris will be missing his tenth game in a row with an adductor injury, while Hampton will be missing his fifth in a row due to health and safety protocols. Green and Nnaji both missed yesterday’s game due to a stomach illness (with Nnaji ruled out after the game started), but both are expected to play and make their return to the lineup. Jokic has been an ironman, not having missed a game due to injury since February of 2017, and he is the hub of the offense, so the Nuggets would look completely different if he were to miss. The Nuggets could start either Isaiah Hartenstein to keep a traditional center, or perhaps Green or Paul Millsap if they elect to go small against a Porzingis led frontcourt. Green is a big beneficiary per CourtIQ, as his usage goes from 17.9% to 23.6% and his FPM goes from 0.97 to 1.21 per a 242 minutes sample in CourtIQ. Millsap, Porter Jr. and Hartenstein would also benefit from his absence, as they’d pick up more minutes and usage in his absence. If Morris were to miss, PJ Dozier and Facundo Campazzo would gain the most, with one of them entering the starting lineup likely.

The two Knick point guards respond differently to their injuries pregame, as Payton will not be suiting up due to a right hamstring injury, while Quickley is available to play against the Oklahoma City Thunder despite being added to the injury report late last night with a sore groin. Derrick Rose remains out due to the health and safety protocols, while Austin Rivers is out for a personal matter, leaving the point guard minutes to Quickley and Frank Ntilikina. The last game that both Rose and Payton missed, Ntilikana received the start and played 24 minutes, while Quickley came off the bench and played 29. Ntilikina is getting the start again today. With all the injured players off the court, Quickley leads the team with a 29.3% usage, and averages 1.15 FPM in a 188 minute sample per CourtIQ.
As reported by: the New York Knicks via Twitter Other tagged players: Immanuel QuickleyDavid Nwaba (wrist) active Friday
Nwaba has officially been upgraded from questionable and will be active for Friday’s matchup against the Utah Jazz despite reportedly needing surgery on his injured wrist that was going to keep him sidelined for approximately six weeks, while John Wall was previously ruled out due to a sore left knee that has now forced him to miss two consecutive games. The upgrade of Nwaba initially appeared to be a backup plan to have an eighth active player if Mason Jones, who was recently resigned to a 10-day contract, is unable to be cleared in time for tonight’s contest, but Nwaba is apparently going to try to play through the injury, albeit, likely in a limited fashion. Additionally, Wall joins Victor Oladipo, Eric Gordon, Christian Wood, and Danuel House Jr. on the inactive list, leaving them with a maximum of nine available players, so Kevin Porter Jr. should have a continue to have a featured role in head coach Stephen Silas’ rotation regardless of if he starts or comes off the bench after his phenomenal fantasy performance in just under 30 minutes of action in Thursday’s blowout loss.
As reported by: Cayleigh Griffin via TwitterJaMychal Green (illness) ruled out Friday; Paul Millsap (knee) available to play
Green has officially been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Friday’s matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies due to an apparent stomach illness despite originally being listed on the Nuggets’ injury report with a sprained left shoulder that had forced him to miss time prior to the All-Star break. Meanwhile, Millsap will be available to play but will come off the bench for at least his first game back as he’s likely to have a relatively strict minute restriction following his lengthy injury hiatus. This means that Will Barton and Michael Porter Jr. will be able to start at the forward positions for at least one additional contest, though it’ll be interesting to see if it’s Barton, Porter, or Monte Morris that heads to the bench to resume a reserve role once Millsap is able to handle his usual minute allotment on a nightly basis.
As reported by: Harrison Wind via Twitter Other tagged players: Paul MillsapDarius Garland (groin) ruled out Friday; Kevin Love (calf) will play
Garland has officially been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Friday’s matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans due to a strained left groin, while Love is set to return from a strained left calf that had forced him to miss all but two games this season. There’s been no word on what type of minute restrictions Love might have in his first game back but Cleveland will at least have the services of Larry Nance Jr., who is set to return from a more than a month-long absence because of a fractured finger. However, given the nature of the injury, there certainly seems to be a greater chance for Nance to see a more meaningful amount of minutes in the frontcourt than Love, and he likely steps into a large portion of the playing time that had been being absorbed by Dean Wade, who should now head back to the bench to resume a much less significant reserve role moving forward.

Prince is once again a late addition to the Cavaliers’ injury report and is now listed out for Friday’s matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans due to a left shoulder injury, while Darius Garland and Kevin Love remain listed as questionable with their respective ailments. There’s been no word on what type of minute restrictions Garland and Love might have if they’re cleared to play, but Cleveland will at least have the services of Larry Nance Jr., who is set to return from a more than a month-long absence because of a fractured finger. As reported by: NBA Official Injury ReportAaron Gordon (injury management) and Terrence Ross (knee) listed out Friday
Gordon has been included on the Magic’s initial injury report and is listed out for Friday’s matchup against the San Antonio Spurs for injury management on the second leg of a back-to-back set, while Ross will miss a second consecutive game due to a sore left knee. The Magic are still without Evan Fournier and several other key rotational pieces, and with Ross unavailable, Dwayne Bacon will more than likely slide up to the shooting guard position in the first unit once again, and should also force Michael Carter-Williams to play more off-ball, which would enable Chasson Randle to see an uptick in playing time for the second straight night, making him an intriguing punt option for all daily fantasy formats following a serviceable performance in 30 minutes of action in Thursday’s loss.
As reported by: NBA Official Injury Report Other tagged players: Terrence RossJohn Wall (knee) listed out Thursday; Eric Gordon (knee) listed available
Wall has been downgraded from questionable on the latest Rockets’ injury report and is now listed out for Thursday’s matchup against the Sacramento Kings due to a left knee contusion he apparently sustained during Wednesday’s practice, while Gordon has been cleared to play following his earlier questionable designation because of left knee soreness. Wall will join Christian Wood, Danuel House Jr., and David Nwaba on the inactive list for tonight’s contest, leaving them with just 10 available players, so freshly-recalled Kevin Porter Jr. should have a sizable role in head coach Stephen Silas’ rotation regardless if he starts or comes off the bench in his Rockets debut. Additionally, it’s also plausible Silas resorts to just an eight-man rotation with KJ Martin and Anthony Lamb picking up DNP-CDs, which would elevate the range of outcomes for all the Houston regulars for all daily fantasy formats this evening.
As reported by: NBA Official Injury Report Other tagged players: Eric GordonAaron Gordon (ankle) will play limited minutes Thursday
Gordon has officially been upgraded from questionable and will play in Thursday’s matchup against the Miami Heat after missing an extended period due to a sprained left ankle, while Terrence Ross was previously ruled out with a sore left knee. There haven’t been any reports on just how strict Gordon’s minute restriction will be, but his mere presence in the starting lineup is enough to eliminate all of the ancillary Magic forwards from consideration for all daily fantasy formats across the industry. As for Ross’ absence, Dwayne Bacon will more than likely slide up to the shooting guard position in the first unit, but it may also force Michael Carter-Williams to play more off-ball, which would likely enable Chasson Randle to potentially see an uptick in playing time, making him an intriguing punt option in large-field tournaments this evening.
As reported by: Roy Parry via TwitterTaj Gibson (ankle) available to play Thursday
Gibson has officially been upgraded from questionable and will be available to play in Thursday’s matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks after missing three games prior to the All-Star break due to a sprained left ankle. In his absence, Nerlens Noel had been averaging nearly 40 minutes per game as the starting center in Knicks’ head coach Tom Thibodeau’s rotation, but with Gibson available once again off the bench, Noel should see that minute floor significantly decrease, especially if Thibodeau continues to regularly use smaller lineup combinations with Julius Randle manning the five spot. There haven’t been any reports of a minute restriction for Gibson, so he should be fine to handle his usual reserve minute allotment with the second unit in tonight’s contest.
As reported by: NY_KnicksPR via TwitterTerrence Ross (knee) ruled out Thursday
Ross has officially been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Thursday’s matchup against the Miami Heat due to a sore left knee. The Magic are still without Evan Fournier and several other key rotational pieces, but they will receive some reinforcements for tonight’s contest with Aaron Gordon slated to make his return to the starting lineup, albeit, on a limited basis. There haven’t been any reports on just how strict Gordon’s minute restriction will be, but his mere presence is enough to eliminate all of the ancillary forwards from consideration for all daily fantasy formats across the industry. As for Ross’ absence, Dwayne Bacon will more than likely slide up to the shooting guard position in the first unit, but it may also force Michael Carter-Williams to play more off-ball, which would enable Chasson Randle to potentially see an uptick in playing time, making him an intriguing punt option in large-field tournaments this evening.
As reported by: Orlando Magic PR via TwitterLuka Doncic (ankle) and Kristaps Porzingis (knee) listed out Thursday
Doncic has been included on the Mavericks’ initial injury report and is listed out for Thursday’s matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to right ankle injury recovery, while Porzingis is also listed out for right knee injury recovery on the second leg of a back-to-back set. The last time Porzingis was unavailable Boban Marjanovic ended up receiving the starting nod at the center position over Willie Cauley-Stein and Dwight Powell, but he was only able to amass 17 total minutes in a contest that featured several minutes of garbage time in the fourth quarter. As for Doncic’s absence, Jalen Brunson should move into the starting lineup at point guard and easily becomes one of the top value options on tonight’s slates across the industry as he leads the team with a massive 30.3% assist rate with Doncic and Porzingis off the court this season.
As reported by: NBA Official Injury Report Other tagged players: Kristaps PorzingisLaMarcus Aldridge (not with team) ruled out Wednesday
Despite never being listed on the Spurs’ injury report, head coach Gregg Popovich disclosed to reporters that Aldridge won’t play in Wednesday’s matchup against the Dallas Mavericks or moving forward as both parties have agreed to work on finding an opportunity for him to play elsewhere at some point this season. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that the Spurs have several scenarios in the works on the trade front, but if they’re unable to find a satisfactory deal, then they will most likely move on to buyout negotiations with Aldridge and his representation. In Aldridge’s absence, Jakob Poeltl should continue to see a large portion of the available center minutes on a nightly basis, while Trey Lyles or Luka Samanic should stick in the rotation as a member of the second unit when Keldon Johnson and DeMar DeRozan are off the court.
