Kelly Oubre (wrist) listed out Thursday
Oubre has officially been downgraded from questionable and is now listed out on the Warriors’ injury report for Thursday’s matchup against the Phoenix Suns due to a sprained left wrist that has now forced him to miss two games, while Steph Curry and Draymond Green will be held out as well as the Warriors attempt to manage their recovery from their respective ailments on the second leg of a back-to-back set. This will leave Golden State without three regular starters, which should allow Brad Wanamaker, Kent Bazemore, Mychal Mulder, Juan Toscano-Anderson, and Eric Paschall to see additional playing time as either replacement starters or off the bench. However, head coach Steve Kerr disclosed to reporters that he expects Nico Mannion and Jordan Poole to have significant roles in tonight’s contest, which just further muddies an already deep Warriors rotation and may make veterans like Wanamaker and Bazemore viable fades in tournament formats this evening.
As reported by: NBA Official Injury ReportZion Williamson (toe) and J.J. Redick (heel) ruled out Thursday
As expected, Williamson has officially been downgraded from doubtful and won’t play in Thursday’s matchup against the Miami Heat due to right fifth toe irritation, while Redick will also be unavailable because of right heel soreness on the second leg of a back-to-back set after logging just over 28 minutes in Wednesday’s loss. The only game Williamson has missed this season was when the Pelicans were extremely shorthanded, so there isn’t exactly precedent to what head coach Stan Van Gundy will do with his starting lineup and rotation in general with Williamson sidelined. However, it seems likely Josh Hart would join the starting unit, which would slide Brandon Ingram down to power forward and potentially allow Nico Melli to step into the reserve minutes at the four in tonight’s contest. If that’s the case, the likelihood of Steven Adams and Willy Hernangomez commanding all of the center minutes increases exponentially, making them intriguing tournament targets on tonight’s slates across the daily fantasy industry.
As reported by: Pelicans PR via Twitter Other tagged players: J.J. RedickPaul George (dizziness) ruled out Thursday
Despite originally being confirmed in the Clippers’ starting lineup, Geroge is now a late scratch and won’t play in Thursday’s matchup against the Washington Wizards due to what’s being reported as dizziness, while Marcus Morris was already previously ruled out as he remains in the NBA’s concussion protocol. The Clippers will at least have the services of Kawhi Leonard, who was a late scratch because of back spasms in Tuesday’s loss, so Reggie Jackson will get the chance to remain in the starting lineup for at least another game following his stellar fantasy performance in just under 37 minutes of action last time out. The combined absences of George and Morris should force Leonard to play a majority of his minutes at the power forward positions, which should benefit the playing time and usage of one, if not, both of Terance Mann and Luke Kennard off the bench this evening.
As reported by: Ohm Youngmisuk via Twitter Other tagged players: Kawhi Leonard, Marcus MorrisBam Adebayo (knee) ruled out Thursday; Jimmy Butler (knee) available to play
Adebayo has officially been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Thursday’s matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans due to left knee tendinitis, while Butler has been cleared to play and will return from a multiple game absence because of right knee inflammation. With Adebayo sidelined, Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra will go with a smaller starting lineup with Kelly Olynyk manning the center spot whereas KZ Okpala will start alongside Jimmy Butler at one of the forward positions. However, whenever Goran Dragic and Tyler Herro have been healthy and available off the bench, Miami’s fifth starter, in this case, Okpala, has rarely seen a normal starting minute workload, so it seems highly unlikely Okpala will see the necessary playing time to become relevant in daily fantasy formats. However, this does make Precious Achiuwa a less appealing option now that being limited to solely the backup center minutes are firmly within his range of outcomes this evening.
As reported by: Tim Reynolds via Twitter Other tagged players: Jimmy ButlerElfrid Payton (hamstring) and Frank Ntilikina (quad) available to play Thursday
Payton and Ntilikina have both officially been upgraded from questionable and will be available to play in Thursday’s matchup against the Detroit Pistons despite battling their respective ailments, while Derrick Rose was already previously ruled out as he remains in the NBA’s health and safety protocols and may be required to continue to self-isolate for a currently undetermined amount of time. There haven’t been any reports for a minute restriction for Payton, who is set to return from an extended injury absence, and he’ll reclaim his usual spot in the Knicks starting lineup at point guard, sending Ntilikina back to the bench following a relatively underwhelming fantasy performance in Wednesday’s blowout loss. It remains unclear how head coach Tom Thibodeau will deploy his guard rotation with Payton back in the fold, but no matter how it shakes out, Ntilikina and Immanuel Quickley should be avoided in all daily fantasy formats this evening.
As reported by: NY_KnicksPR via Twitter Other tagged players: Frank NtilikinaZion Williamson (toe) downgraded to doubtful Thursday
Williamson is a new addition to the Pelicans’ injury report and is now listed as doubtful for Thursday’s matchup against the Miami Heat due to right fifth toe irritation, while J.J. Redick remains questionable with right heel soreness on the second leg of a back-to-back set after logging just over 28 minutes in Wednesday’s loss.
As reported by: the New Orleans Pelicans via Twitter Other tagged players: J.J. RedickDerrick Rose (protocols) ruled out Thursday
Rose has officially been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Thursday’s matchup against the Detroit Pistons as he remains in the NBA’s health and safety protocols and may be required to self-isolate for a currently undetermined amount of time. The Knicks could also be without Elfrid Payton and Frank Ntilikina, who remain listed as questionable on the Knicks’ injury report, so their potential absences in addition to Rose could open up the flood gates for Immanuel Quickley to see as many minutes as he can handle unless, for some reason, head coach Tom Thibodeau opts to start someone like Austin Rivers to keep Quickley as the main scorer and facilitator in the second unit for tonight’s contest. However, even if Quickley doesn’t start, he would still be the odds-on favorite to see the majority of minutes at the point guard position and becomes a stellar daily fantasy option in all formats this evening.
As reported by: NY_KnicksPR via TwitterCam Johnson (protocols) ruled out Thursday
Johnson has been added to the Suns’ injury report and has been ruled out of Thursday’s matchup against the Golden State Warriors as he entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols and may be required to self-isolate for a currently undetermined period of time. As of late, Johnson has been seeing high-teens or low-20s minutes off the bench at the forward spots, so his absence will open up additional playing time for the likes of Abdel Nader and E’Twaun Moore in the second unit, while Jae Crowder could have a significantly higher minute floor than normal and has logged at least 27 minutes in each of the previous four games.
As reported by: Duane Rankin via TwitterSteph Curry (rest) and Draymond Green (ankle) ruled out Thursday
Curry and Green have officially been ruled out and won’t play in Thursday’s matchup against the Phoenix Suns as the Warriors attempt to manage their recovery from their respective ailments on the second leg of a back-to-back set. Meanwhile, there has yet to be an update on Kelly Oubre, who was held out of Wednesday’s loss with a sprained left wrist he injured during practice earlier in the week. Golden State is obviously already shorthanded, but if Oubre is unable to go, they will be even more so, which would allow Brad Wanamaker, Mychal Mulder, Juan Toscano-Anderson, and Eric Paschall to see additional playing time either as starters or off the bench. However, head coach Steve Kerr disclosed to reporters that he expects Nico Mannion and Jordan Poole to have significant roles in tonight’s contest, which just further muddies an already deep Warriors rotation.
As reported by: Anthony Slater via Twitter Other tagged players: Draymond GreenLaMarcus Aldridge (illness) ruled out Thursday
Aldridge has officially been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Thursday’s matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to an illness that has now forced him to miss two games. Meanwhile, Keldon Johnson was excluded from the Spurs’ injury report as he continues to ramp up his conditioning following a COVID-19 diagnosis, but he was limited to just 11 minutes in Tuesday’s blowout win. If Johnson severely limited once again, Trey Lyles will likely receive the starting nod at the power forward position, and he’s managed to record at least 26 minutes in each of his previous four starts with Rudy Gay, Derrick White, and Devin Vassell in the NBA’s health and safety protocols. Even with Aldridge available over the previous few contests, Jakob Poeltl has maintained a heavy minute workload as the starting center, and that appears unlikely to change this evening with Drew Eubanks slated to receive the backup center minutes off the bench this evening.
As reported by: Tom Osborn via TwitterKyle Kuzma (heel) will start Wednesday; Alex Caruso (neck) ruled out
Kuzma has officially been upgraded from questionable and will play in Wednesday’s matchup against the Sacramento Kings after missing one game due to a right heel contusion, while Caruso has been ruled out on the second night of a back-to-back set because of neck spasms. The Lakers are also sitting LeBron James for tonight’s contest, so Kuzma will join the starting lineup at the small forward position in his place whereas Damian Jones will receive the starting nod ahead of Montrezl Harrel at the center spot. However, Jones is likely just a starter in name only as Harrell should still see the majority of minutes at the five off the bench. As for Kuzma, there haven’t been any reports of a potential minute restriction in his return, so he should be fine to handle a typical starting minute workload this evening.
As reported by: Harrison Faigen via Twitter Other tagged players: Alex CarusoKelly Oubre (wrist) ruled out Wednesday
Oubre has officially been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Wednesday’s matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers due to a sprained left wrist. In his absence, Kent Bazemore will receive the starting nod alongside Andrew Wiggins on the wing. However, even as a starter, Bazemore will still have a volatile minute floor in tonight’s contest as Warriors head coach Steve Kerr typically doesn’t shy away from going deep into his bench when key players are sidelined If Bazemore does get significant playing time, h obviously has the upside to become a factor in daily fantasy formats across the industry this evening.
As reported by: Connor Letourneau via TwitterLuka Doncic (back) officially out Wednesday; Willie Cauley-Stein (thumb) available to play
As expected, Doncic has officially been downgraded from doubtful and won’t play in Wednesday’s matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to low back tightness, while Willie Cauley-Stein will be available to play following his originally questionable designation on the Mavericks’ injury report with a sprained right thumb. In Doncic’s absence, Jalen Brunson will more than likely receive the starting nod at the point guard position whereas Trey Burke should see an expanded role off the bench after being limited to fewer than 10 minutes in all but one of the previous 10 contests. Unsurprisingly, several players see increases in usage and other underlying rates with Doncic off the court this season, but Brunson paces the team with a 31.2% assist rate, and likewise, Kristaps Porzingis leads the with a 31.8% usage rate in this sample set.
As reported by: Eddie Sefko via Twitter Other tagged players: Willie Cauley-SteinClint Capela (foot) officially out Wednesday
As expected, Capela has officially been downgraded from doubtful and won’t play in Wednesday’s matchup against the Orlando Magic due to right foot pain, while Cam Reddish remains sidelined with right Achilles soreness. The nature of Capela’s injury designation always seemed ominous, and now that he’s been deemed unable to suit up, interim head coach Nate McMillan will likely go small with John Collins at the center position with Solomon Hill potentially drawing the start at power forward, respectively. This could also allow Oneyeka Okongwu to see his first significant playing time of the season as the backup center, but the rookie still hasn’t logged more than 16 minutes in any game this season, making it highly unlikely he becomes relevant in daily fantasy formats on a sizable 10-game slate this evening.
As reported by: Brad Rowland via TwitterGordon Hayward (hand) available to play Wednesday; Cody Zeller (hip) ruled out
As expected, Hayward has been upgraded from probable and will play in Wednesday’s matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves after missing two games due to a right-hand contusion, while Zeller remains sidelined for a third straight contest because of a left hip contusion. There hasn’t been any indication Hayward will be subject to a minute restriction, so he should be fine to handle his usual minute allotment as the starting small forward, which will send Cody Martin back to the bench to assume a reserve role following a string of solid fantasy performances while logging at least 25 minutes in each game over this span. In Zeller’s absence, Bismack Biyombo will likely draw the start at the center spot once again, but his minute floor has been extremely volatile with how often head coach James Borrego likes to go small with PJ Washington manning the five.
