Tobias Harris (knee) will play Wednesday
As expected, Harris has been upgraded from probable and will play in Wednesday’s matchup against the Utah Jazz after missing two games due to a right knee contusion, while Joel Embiid wasn’t even included on the Sixers’ injury report despite claiming his ankle was pretty sore following Monday’s blowout win. There haven’t been any reports indicating Harris will have a minute restriction in tonight’s contest, so he should be able to handle his usual allotment of minutes and reclaim his power forward spot in the starting lineup from Mike Scott, who will head back to the bench after his stellar fantasy outing in just under 25 minutes of action as a spot starter last time out. Unfortunately, the return of Harris makes the entirety of the Sixers roster pretty unappealing daily fantasy options on a sizable 10-game slate across the industry this evening.
As reported by: Derek Bodnar via TwitterLuka Doncic (back) downgraded to doubtful Wednesday
Doncic has officially been downgraded from questionable and is currently listed as doubtful on the Mavericks’ injury report for Wednesday’s matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to low back tightness, while Willie Cauley-Stein remains listed as questionable with a sprained right thumb. In Doncic’s likely absence, Jalen Brunson will more than likely receive the starting nod at the point guard position whereas Trey Burke should see an expanded role off the bench after being limited to fewer than 10 minutes in all but one of the previous 10 contests. Unsurprisingly, several players see increases in usage and other underlying rates with Doncic off the court this season, but Brunson paces the team with a 31.2% assist rate, and likewise, Kristaps Porzingis leads the with a 31.8% usage rate in this sample set.
As reported by: NBA Official Injury ReportClint Capela (foot) listed questionable Wednesday; Cam Reddish (Achilles) remains out
Capela has been included on the Hawks’ initial injury report and is listed as questionable for Wednesday’s matchup against the Orlando Magic due to right foot pain, while Reddish remains sidelined with right Achilles soreness. The nature of Capela’s injury designation seems ominous with Atlanta set to play their final game before the All-Star break, so if he’s unable to suit up, interim head coach Nate McMillan would likely go small with John Collins at the center position with Solomon Hill potentially drawing the start at power forward, respectively. This could also allow Oneyeka Okongwu to see his first significant playing time of the season as the backup center, but the rookie still hasn’t logged more than 16 minutes in any game this season, making it highly unlikely he becomes relevant in daily fantasy formats on a sizable 10-game slate this evening.
As reported by: Kevin Chouinard via Twitter Other tagged players: Cam ReddishGordon Hayward (hand) upgraded to probable Wednesday
Hayward has officially been upgraded from questionable and is now listed as probable for Wednesday’s matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves after missing two games due to a right-hand contusion, while Cody Zeller remains questionable because of a left hip contusion. There hasn’t been any indication Hayward will be subject to a minute restriction, so he should be fine to handle his usual minute allotment as the starting small forward, which will send Cody Martin back to the bench to assume a reserve role following a string of solid fantasy performances while logging at least 25 minutes in each game over this span. In the event of Zeller’s potential absence, Bismack Biyombo would likely draw the start at the center spot once again, but his minute floor has been extremely volatile with how often head coach James Borrego likes to go small with PJ Washington manning the five.
As reported by: Charlotte Hornets PR via TwitterKyle Kuzma (heel) and Marc Gasol (protocols) ruled out Tuesday
Despite originally being listed as probable on the Lakers’ injury report, Kuzma is a late scratch from the Lakers’ lineup and won’t play in Tuesday’s matchup against the Phoenix Suns due to a right heel contusion, while Marc Gasol was previously deemed ineligible to play as he’s entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols and may be required to self-isolate for a currently undetermined amount of time. With Anthony Davis still sidelined, this opens up a tremendous amount of minutes in the frontcourt for Montrezl Harrell and Markieff Morris as the starting center and power forward, respectively, and it will likely allow one or both of Damian Jones and Jared Dudley to step into noteworthy roles in the second unit at the aforementioned positions.
As reported by: Dave McMenamin via Twitter Other tagged players: Marc GasolDerrick Rose (protocols) ruled out Tuesday
Rose is a surprise late addition to the Knicks’ injury report and won’t play in Tuesday’s matchup against the San Antonio Spurs as he’s entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols and may be required to self-isolate for a currently undetermined amount of time. The Knicks are already without Elfrid Payton, so the additional absence of Rose should open up the flood gates for Immanuel Quickley to see as many minutes as he can handle unless, for some reason, head coach Tom Thibodeau opts to start someone like Austin Rivers or Frank Ntilikina to keep Quickley as the main scorer and facilitator in the second unit in tonight’s contest. However, even if Quickley doesn’t start, he would still be the odds-on favorite to see the majority of minutes at the point guard position and becomes a stellar daily fantasy option in all formats this evening.
As reported by: NY_KnicksPR via TwitterKeldon Johnson (conditioning) available to play Tuesday
Johnson has officially been upgraded from questionable and will be available to play off the bench in Tuesday’s matchup against the New York Knicks as he continues to ramp up his conditioning following a COVID-19 diagnosis a few weeks back, while LaMarcus Aldridge was previously ruled out with a stomach illness. With Johnson on a minute restriction, Trey Lyles will receive the starting nod at the power forward position once again, and he’s managed to record at least 26 minutes in each of his previous three starts with Johnson, Rudy Gay, Derrick White, and Devin Vassell in the NBA’s health and safety protocols. Additionally, even with Aldridge available over the previous few contests, Jakob Poeltl has maintained a heavy minute workload as the starting center, and that appears unlikely to change this evening with Drew Eubanks slated to receive the backup center minutes off the bench.
As reported by: Paul Garcia via TwitterJimmy Butler (knee) ruled out Tuesday
Butler has officially been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Tuesday’s matchup against the Atlanta Hawks due to right knee inflammation that has now forced him to miss two consecutive games, while Gabe Vincent continues to play through a probable designation on the Heat’s injury report because of a sore right knee. In his absence, Goran Dragic received the starting nod alongside Kendrick Nunn in the backcourt, but he’ll be looking to bounce back from a horrendous fantasy performance in just 30 minutes of action in Sunday’s win. Nunn led the team in scoring in that contest, so recency bias could make Dragic an intriguing tournament target on daily fantasy sites across the industry this evening.
As reported by: Tim Reynolds via TwitterKyle Anderson (illness) ruled out Tuesday
Anderson has officially been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Tuesday’s matchup against the Washington Wizards due to a non-COVID-19 respiratory illness, while Grayson Allen remains in the NBA’s concussion protocol and is still without a timetable for a return. In Anderson’s absence, Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins has opted to go with his bigger starting lineup and will start Brandon Clarke alongside Jonas Valanciunas in the frontcourt whereas Desmond Bane will remain in the first unit on the wing for at least one more game. This should also allow some combination of Justise Winslow, De’Anthony Melton, and Xavier Tillman Sr. to take on larger roles off the bench, but Winslow has still been limited to fewer than 22 minutes in three of his four games since returning from a lengthy injury hiatus, potentially limiting his upside for daily fantasy tournaments across the industry this evening.
As reported by: Grizzlies PR via TwitterLaMarcus Aldridge (illness) ruled out Tuesday; Keldon Johnson (conditioning) questionable
Aldridge has been included on the Spurs’ initial injury report and won’t play in Tuesday’s matchup against the New York Knicks due to an illness, while Johnson has been upgraded to questionable on the second leg of a back-to-back as he continues to ramp up his conditioning following a COVID-19 diagnosis a few weeks back. If Johnson is held out one more game, Trey Lyles will likely receive the starting nod at the power forward positions once again, and he’s managed to record at least 26 minutes in each of his previous three starts with Johnson, Rudy Gay, Derrick White, and Devin Vassell in the NBA’s health and safety protocols. Even with Aldridge available over the previous few contests, Jakob Poeltl has maintained a heavy minute workload as the starting center, and that appears unlikely to change this evening with Drew Eubanks slated to receive the backup center minutes off the bench.
As reported by: Evan Closky via Twitter Other tagged players: Keldon JohnsonGordon Hayward (hand) and Cody Zeller (hip) officially out Monday
As expected, Hayward and Zeller have officially been downgraded from doubtful and won’t play in Monday’s matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers due to their respective ailments, while Caleb Martin was cleared from the NBA’s health and safety protocols yesterday and will be available to play off the bench for the second straight contest. The Hornets will also be without Devonte’ Graham once again, so they’ll be without three regular starters, which should allow Jalen McDaniels and Bismack Biyombo to receive the starting nods at their respective positions whereas Miles Bridges, Malik Monk, and Cody Martin figure to have key roles off the bench with the second unit. As for Caleb Martin, there hasn’t been a specific report of a potential minute restriction, but given the length and nature of his absence, it’s doesn’t seem plausible for him to see significant playing time this evening.
As reported by: Charlotte Hornets PR via Twitter Other tagged players: Cody ZellerEric Gordon (knee) ruled out Monday
Gordon has officially been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Monday’s matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers due to a sore left knee, while John Wall is set to play in both games of a back-to-back set for the first time this season after logging just 27 minutes in Sunday’s blowout loss. The Rockets will have the services of Victor Oladipo following his one-game absence for injury management purposes, so he’ll step into Gordon’s vacated spot in the starting lineup, marking the only change to head coach Stephen Silas’ starters for tonight’s contest. This means that Justin Patton will receive his second straight start ahead of Jae’Sean Tate at the center position, but his minute floor will remain volatile despite logging 26 minutes last time out, most of which was a result of extensive garbage time run.
As reported by: Craig Ackerman via TwitterJoel Embiid (ankle) will start Monday
Despite Sixers head coach Doc Rivers’ calling Embiid “very questionable” to play in Monday’s matchup against the Indiana Pacers because of a sore left ankle, Embiid has officially been upgraded from questionable and will start, while Tobias Harris was previously ruled out with a left knee contusion that has now forced him to miss two games. There hasn’t been any indication Embiid will b subject to a minute restriction in tonight’s contest, so he should be expected to handle his usual minute allotment as long as the game remains competitive throughout. As for Harris, his absence will allow Mike Scott to join the starting lineup at the power forward position, which sends Furkan Korkmaz back to the bench to resume a reserve role following his dismal fantasy performance in Saturday’s loss.
As reported by: Tom Moore via TwitterMalcolm Brogdon (knee) available to play Monday; Jeremy Lamb (knee) ruled out
Brogdon has officially been upgraded from questionable and will be available to play in Monday’s matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers after missing one game due to a sore right knee, while Lamb has been ruled out because of a sore left knee he aggravated early in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s loss. There hasn’t been any indication Brogdon will be subject to a minute restriction in tonight’s contest, so he should be fine to handle his usual minute allotment as the starting point guard, and his presence will send T.J. McConnell back to the bench following his solid fantasy performance in a whopping 46 minutes of action last time out. As for Lamb, his absence could allow one of JaKarr Sampson or Edmond Sumner to join the rotation, but it’s just as likely head coach Nate Bjorkgren chooses to tighten his rotation to just eight players this evening.
As reported by: the Indiana Pacers via Twitter Other tagged players: Jeremy LambJeff Green (shoulder) and Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot (knee) ruled out Monday
Green and Luwawu-Cabarrot have officially been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Monday’s matchup against the San Antonio Spurs due to their respective ailments, while Tyler Johnson will be available to play following his probable designation on the Nets’ injury report with migraines that forced him to miss the previous game. In Green’s absence, DeAndre Jordan will likely rejoin the starting lineup and should have a more secure minute floor than normal with both of Brooklyn’s small-ball fives unavailable in Green and Kevin Durant, but there’s still a chance he doesn’t see a normal starting workload with Nicolas Claxton available off the bench, especially if the young big man plays well in his first rotation or two in tonight’s contest. As for the wing depth, it’s possible Andre Roberson sees an increased role with the second unit, but he still has yet to exceed the 20-minute mark since returning from a lengthy injury hiatus.
