Throw it Down Big Man
The driving force behind putting Kyle O’Quinn in cash games is that his stone-cold minimum salary around all sites, paired with another cheapie like Cory Joseph, opens the door for three stars on your team in cash games. Even flaming out for this price doesn’t kill your cash lineup. With Al Horford out, that opens nearly 32 minutes per game in the frontcourt for these Philadelphia big guys. Embiid isn’t getting that extra run, so it stands to reason that KOQ will (guessing) double his 9+ minutes per game tonight, which could lead to fantasy goodness considering his propensity to rack up fantasy points when on the court.
What Did the Fox Say?
With De’Aaron Fox out, the Kings will have to replace 32 minutes per game at the point guard position. Cory Joseph is the natural replacement, as he has played the second-most minutes (behind Fox) on the team at that position. At this low salary, he makes for a fine cash game play that will help you load your roster with stars.
Emmanuel Mudiay (hamstring) will play Monday
Mudiay has officially been upgraded from questionable and will play in Monday’s matchup against the Golden State Warriors after missing three games due to left hamstring tightness. Mudiay has logged greater than 17 minutes in just two of his six games, so his return to the rotation won’t have too much of an impact on the remaining members of the backcourt. However, his presence could relegate Georges Niang from the rotation and possibly even siphon away a few minutes from Royce O’Neale and Joe Ingles as secondary ball-handlers in the second unit.

Brandon Ingram (knee) out Monday; Josh Hart will start
Ingram is a late scratch from the Pelicans lineup and won’t play in Monday’s matchup against the Houston Rockets due to a sore right knee. Ingram was never listed on the injury report, but he was out on the floor warming up with a wrap on his knee and was apparently unable to give it a go after testing out his injured knee. In his absence, Josh Hart will receive the starting nod alongside J.J. Redick on the wing, while Jrue Holiday will man the point with Lonzo Ball also unavailable this evening. Hart only owns a 17.3% usage rate with Ingram and Ball off the court this season, but he is averaging 1.19 FanDuel and 1.19 DraftKings points per minute, making him an elite value option on tonight’s 6-game slate.

Rose confirmed with reporters that he will play in Monday’s matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves after missing four games due to a strained right hamstring. There has yet to be any report that Rose would be subject to a minute restriction, but he’ll still likely come off the bench behind Bruce Brown, while Tim Frazier could find himself out of the rotation entirely if head coach Dwane Casey opts to stick with Brown as the Pistons starting point guard until Reggie Jackson returns from an extended injury absence. Rose has logged fewer than 27 minutes in each game he’s been active, but he does lead Detroit with a 34.5% usage rate and is averaging 1.31 FanDuel and 1.35 DraftKings points per minute this season.

Teague has officially been ruled out and won’t play in Monday’s matchup against the Detroit Pistons due to an illness that’s now forced him to miss four games. With Napier being held out once again as well, Jarrett Culver should draw another start as the de facto point guard, but he seems to have taken a backseat to Andrew Wiggins in the ball-handling and playmaking departments after recording seven assists in his first spot start on Wednesday evening. With Teague unavailable in the previous three contests, Wiggins has a 30.1% usage rate and a 29.0% assist rate that has accumulated to an average of 1.29 FanDuel and 1.29 DraftKings points per minute in a 117.8 minutes sample size over that span.

Paschall has been listed as available to play on the Warriors’ updated injury report for Monday’s matchup against the Golden State Warriors after missing one game due to a right hip contusion, while Spellman is listed out with a sprained left ankle. Draymond Green did confirm to reporters at shootaround that he does expect to play a normal allotment of minutes in his return, so he’ll presumably start at power forward, which will send one of Alec Burks or Jordan Poole back to the bench to resume a reserve role. The player whose fantasy value is affected the most by Green returning to the lineup is Paschall, as he’s now extremely overpriced for his likely role in the rotation and makes him easy to avoid in all formats once Spellman is back healthy.

Kanter confirmed with reporters at shootaround that he has officially been cleared to play in Monday’s matchup against the Dallas Mavericks after missing seven games due to a left knee contusion. There’s yet to be any inclination from the Celtics or head coach Brad Stevens whether Kanter will be subject to a minute restriction in his return, but given how well Daniel Theis and Robert Williams have filled in at center in his absence, it’d be surprising if Kanter saw anywhere close to the 25 minutes he logged in the Celtics’ season-opening loss.

Labissiere and Hassan Whiteside will be available to play in Sunday’s matchup against the Atlanta Hawks despite dealing with a sprained right ankle. Whiteside was relied upon to absorb 34 minutes at the center position in Friday’s loss with Anthony Tolliver and Mario Hezonja forced to fill more minutes at the forward spots following Hood’s exit. Anfernee Simons entered the game at that point and ended up logging a whopping 36 minutes with head coach Terry Stotts utilizing three-guard lineups for a large portion of that contest. Simons may not see that much playing time this evening, but he still owns a respectable 21.0% usage rate and is averaging 0.81 FanDuel and 0.84 DraftKings points per minute on the season.

Crabbe has been upgraded from questionable and will be active for Sunday’s matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers after recovering from right knee surgery but will only play in the event of an emergency. As expected, Crabbe will be brought along slowly and won’t help fill the minutes void left behind by Vince Carter, who has already been ruled out due to a personal matter this evening. Additionally, Kevin Huerter and De’Andre Hunter will be available and start following their original probable designations on the injury report

Smith Jr. is a late addition to the Knicks’ injury report and won’t play in Sunday’s matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers due to a personal matter that’s forced him to miss all but three games this season. His and Elfrid Payton’s continued absences will allow Frank Ntilikina to serve as the undisputed starting point guard, and he’s been spectacular from a fantasy perspective of late, logging at least 37 minutes in three of the Knicks previous four games. Ntilikina has seen his price tag increase across the industry, but if he manages to see heavy minutes once again, there should still be meat on the bone for him to at least pay off his salary-based expectations this evening.

As expected, Jordan will be available to play in Sunday’s matchup against the Phoenix Suns after missing one game due to a sprained right ankle. There has yet to be any report of a potential minute restriction for Jordan, so he’ll presumably be in line to start at center versus a more prototypical big man in Aron Baynes, though Jarrett Allen could most definitely receive the starting nod once again following his phenomenal fantasy performance in 36 minutes of action in Friday’s win. Jordan and Allen have typically split the playing time at center down the middle in the early going, so when both are healthy and active, it’s a difficult situation to target for fantasy purposes.
