Dennis Smith Jr. and Allonzo Trier have been ruled out
With Mudiay and Kadeem Allen already out, we now know that Dennis Smith Jr and Alonzo Trier will join them, meaning the Knicks don’t exactly have a healthy point guard. There are some creative options for this predicament, but perhaps the most creative one is the one that coach Fizdale has apparently chosen, which is to start Wednesday night’s revenge game star Super Mario Hezonja (usually plays the 3/4) at the 1. Not sure how this will turn out against a fast paced Rockets team that has a lock down defender in Chris Paul, but it should provide for entertaining basketball. Still, Hezonja might be in consideration considering his production on Wednesday and the overall lack of healthy bodies on the Knicks.

There will be plenty of run and usage to be had by remaining Mavericks, although the rotations and effectiveness of the few healthy bodies will be somewhat unpredictable. Trey Burke and Maxi Kleber stand to benefit the most, while Dorian Finney-Smith (now probable) should also see some increased involvement. No reason to go overboard on a Mavericks/Grizzlies game that will feature some of the least talent in an NBA game all season.

With Emmanuel Mudiay already announced out for Friday’s game against the Rockets, Mario Hezonja has been announced as the Knicks starting point guard. The Knicks are thin at the guard position which should mean solidified minutes for Hezonja who is coming off his best game of the season where he posted a 29/9/5 line in 34 minutes against the Magic.

In today’s edition of Hawks injury whack-a-mole, it’s Huerter and Bazemore that are out, with Taurean Prince, De’Andre Bembry and Justin Anderson standing to benefit. From what it sounds like right now, John Collins, Deyonta Davis and Alex Len are all expected to play, so the value is going to be on the wing instead of in the Hawks front court today. For now. Trae Young has been in good form lately and should continue that tonight, so he is always in consideration with whomever else you’d like to roster from the Hawks value.

This was to be expected, but getting the confirmation nice and early is helpful. Conley’s minutes will primarily go to Delon Wright with Tyler Dorsey getting some increased usage, and Jevon Carter getting 23-25 minutes at the backup point guard. The primary beneficiary to Noah being out is Ivan Rabb, who is very active and will look to get big minutes again, after getting 32 minutes vs Portland on Wednesday. You can potentially also consider Julian Washburn, who got decent run against Portland but was less productive than Rabb.

Everything you read about Brown in the previous blurb you can now forget. Feel free to jump back on Gordon Hayward, and bump up Kyrie Irving, Jayson Tatum and Al Horford slightly. Horford is probable, but he has been expected to play and it would be a shock if he didn’t end up playing in such an important game.

Belinelli is a bench player and was only getting limited minutes to begin with, so not a ton of DFS impact here, but if you are considering Davis Bertans or Lonnie Walker as value plays, Belinelli being out brightens their outlook a bit as there will be more usage to go around on the second unit. These would be pretty thin DFS plays, but worth consideration.

Jaylen Brown was working through some back issues but indicated to media that he is hopeful to play tonight. While getting Brown back would be a boon for the real life Celtics, he would take away from the workload of the other Celtics main rotational pieces, tempering expectations a bit for Jayson Tatum and Gordon Hayward in particular. Al Horford and Kyrie Irving can still be considered strong plays in an important game for the Celtics, who will be looking to maintain home court advantage in their first round playoff matchup.

Bullock has officially been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Thursday’s matchup against the Golden State Warriors due to neck stiffness, while Kyle Kuzma will sit for a third straight contest with left foot tendinitis and the Lakers continue to reiterate they’re not ready to shut him down for the last few games of the season. In Kuzma’s absence, Mike Muscala will likely draw another start at power forward, but he’s been rather inconsistent from a fantasy perspective in at least 19 minutes of action in the previous two games. Ever since the conclusion of the All-Star break, Rajon Rondo and Alex Caruso have been the primary beneficiaries with Kuzma, Lebron James, and Josh Hart off the court, as they each own at least a +4.8% usage rate differential and experience a minimum of a +0.23 increase to their per minute fantasy production.

Kuzma has officially been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Thursday’s matchup against the Golden State Warriors due to left foot tendinitis that has now forced him to miss three consecutive games, Bullock is a late addition to the Lakers’ injury report because of a stiff neck, which is not a positive sign for his potential availability this evening.
