A Barren Frontcourt
This squad is likely going to be very thin up front as well, as the Hawks could be without Collins (doubtful), Prince (doubtful), and Dedmon (out) tonight. That leaves just four healthy bodies for the Hawks to roll out in the frontcourt, so we can expect big minutes for Alex Len, DeAndre Bembry, and Deyonta Davis. Among those three options, Len is the player with the most upside and fantasy potential. He has disappointed as a chalky play quite often this year, but it’s hard to envision him flopping with all these injuries. He put up 23 points and six rebounds in the last game, and that was with Collins active. Fire him up with confidence.
All Systems Go
We haven’t seen Cousins be unloaded for big minutes in a while, and this could be the spot where we see him play 32 minutes. He should be fresh after being ejected in the previous game, and tonight’s Nuggets/Warriors showdown is a key game in the race for the #1 spot in the Western Conference playoffs. If Denver wins, the two teams are tied in the standings and the season series. If Golden State wins, they have a two game edge in the standings and hold the tiebreaker, effectively giving them a three game lead with five to play. This is a HUGE game, and Cousins will be needed on the interior to hang with Jokic and company. I expect a big game, and Cousins is an elite GPP option.
Raul Neto (head) available to play Monday
Neto has officially been upgraded from questionable and will be available to play in Monday’s matchup against the Charlotte Hornets despite previously dealing with concussion-like symptoms, while Kyle Korver and Derrick Favors were already previously ruled out, the latter due to back spasms he began experiencing during Friday’s win. Following his exit, Jae Crowder joined the starting lineup at power forward to begin the second half and logged 28 minutes of action, making him the leading candidate to receive the starting nod in Favors place this evening. This will also allow Ekpe Udoh to enter the rotation as the nominal backup behind Rudy Gobert at center, while Thabo Sefolosha, Royce O’Neale, and possibly even Georges Niang will absorb whatever playing time Korver would have been allotted in tonight’s contest.
As reported by: Andy Larsen via TwitterLuka Doncic has been ruled out
Plenty of usage to go around with Luka out, and Jalen Brunson, Trey Burke and company will be facing a Sixers defense without Jimmy Butler. Plenty to consider here.
As reported by: Keith PompeyTaj Gibson has been ruled out
Taj Gibson is out- minimal DFS impact here as there were better options than Taj, but if you were going to play him, you shouldn’t.
As reported by: TWolves PRDennis Smith Jr. has been ruled out
Dennis Smith Jr. (sore lower back) is out against Chicago. This could amount to additional playing time for Mudiay but he’s already getting a pretty heavy workload. Mainly don’t play DSJ.
As reported by: NY KnicksGiannis Antetokounmpo is expected to play
Giannis Antetokounmpo not expected to be under a minutes restriction tonight. So if you’re going to fire up Giannis, feel free to do so with the confidence of him playing a full complement of minutes. He is always in play in your lineups, and is potentially a very good GPP play given his status was in question most of the day.
As reported by: Matt VelasquezLuke Kennard has been ruled out
Luke Kennard (foot) ruled out. He might have been a borderline value play on this slate but now you don’t have to worry about it.
As reported by: Rod BeardGiannis Antetokounmpo is expected to play
Giannis Antetokounmpo will play tonight against the Nets, with Khris Middleton sitting. Eric Bledsoe will also play, so if you are going to use Giannis or Bledsoe, do so knowing that the other one is going to play. Only Middleton will be out for the starting five (as well as Ersan Ilyasova from the bench group).
As reported by: Matt VelasquezOG Anunoby is out, Kawhi Leonard will play
Kawhi will suit up after missing the Raptors last game in order to rest – Pascal Siakam is also due back. The Raptors won’t have OG Anunoby tonight, but that doesn’t have any real DFS impact on the starters. Kawhi and Siakam are both potential GPP targets, but there isn’t any real bankable value on the Toronto side.
As reported by: Josh Lewenberg Other tagged players: OG AnunobyJaylen Brown has been ruled out
Jaylen Brown won’t play tonight, which could lead to additional minutes and usage for Gordon Hayward off the bench. Marcus Smart and Terry Rozier could benefit slightly as well, but overall with the Celtics at near full-strength this has less impact than if multiple starters/rotational players were sitting.
As reported by: Ira WindermanRodions Kurucs is expected to play
Rodions Kurucs will play tonight, after being considered doubtful earlier in the day. He may make for a good low-owned play, but you might question how effective he will be able to be or how many minutes he will play due to the previous designations. Still, something to consider here.
As reported by: Brian LewisGiannis Antetokounmpo is listed as questionable
Giannis on the court for warmups alongside Khris Middleton. Obviously plenty of impact here if they end up playing, so you’ll want to monitor this closely. If neither play, or if only one plays, it will have an impact on the Bucks usage and create value and opportunity for the other Bucks on the court. If both play, they can still be considered, but factoring in that there won’t be as much usage to go around.
As reported by: Matt VelasquezOG Anunoby is listed as doubtful
OG Anunoby now considered doubtful- not much DFS impact here, but obviously don’t roster him tonight.
Ersan Ilyasova has been ruled out
Ilyasova might not have been on your radar to begin with, but you can safely leave him off now. With Giannis and Middelton taking the court for warm-ups, we may see more Bucks starters than previously expected.
