Johnson has officially been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Friday’s matchup against the Houston Rockets due to a sore right knee, while T.J. Warren remains sidelined with a sore right ankle. The Suns did recently recall Ellie Okobo from the G-League, so he’ll presumably be available for tonight’s contest to provide depth at the point guard position, but De’Anthony Melton figures to be the leading candidate to draw the start at point guard despite being a DNP-CD in each of the previous two games. However, that’s under the presumption that head coach Igor Kokoskov doesn’t opt to move Devin Booker over to the point and insert Mikal Bridges alongside Kelly Oubre on the wing.

Smith Jr. has officially been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Friday’s matchup against the New York Knicks due to a sore lower back, while Hezonja has been cleared to return from an 11-game absence because of a bruised left leg, though his status in the rotation moving forward remains a bit unclear given head coach David Fizdale’s propensity to tinker with lineup combinations on a regular basis.
