Andre Iguodala (leg) ruled out Sunday; Klay Thompson (ankle) "hopeful" to play
Iguodala has officially been ruled out for the sixth consecutive game and won’t play in Sunday’s Game 2 matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to head coach Steve Kerr, due to a left leg lateral contusion. Kerr remains optimistic that Iguodala will suit up at some point in this series, but the news of his unavailability was ultimately expected, while the status of Klay Thompson has always been more up in the air. However, Thompson will go through pregame warmups with the intention of playing, and Kerr expressed to reporters that he is “hopeful” Thompson will be able to give it a go, making his availability for Game 2 appear to be more likely than not. In the absence of Iguodala, one of Kevon Looney or JaVale McGee should draw the start at center alongside Draymond Green in the frontcourt, and Looney likely remains the leading candidate after playing much better in the second half of Game 1 following an abysmal first half that led to McGee replacing him at center to begin the third quarter.

With all that will be written about Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry as Captain picks on Draftkings the most likely guy to triple double is Draymond Green. Green hasn’t been the scorer he has been in past years but last year he had over 60 DK points without scoring a single basket. When that type of ceiling is going to not be a top 5 owned Captain it presents an opportunity in GPPs.
Larry Nance Fits This Series
Larry Nance didn’t play a ton in game 1 but when he did he looked like he belonged running to the rim and playing good defense on Draymond Green. When the Cavs decide to go small look for Nance to be the Center on the floor and at this price he can help you fit the stud players you want.
Lower Ownership Thanks To Game 1 Foul Trouble
George Hill was a non-factor in game 1 thanks to early and often foul trouble but as we have seen throughout the entire playoffs Jordan Clarkson isn’t ready to play in these type of games which means if Hill can stay out of trouble he’ll play 35+ minutes tonight and come in lower owned than you’d expect thanks to that poor game 1.
Cheap Value Playing A Ton Of Minutes
J.R. may have made a boneheaded play in game one but I expect him to bounce back with a solid shooting performance. He will play a pile of minutes and the question is will he knock down his shots?? I think he will come out strong and have a nice performance and even get some garbage time run down the stretch if the game gets out of hand. J.R. seems like a key piece to paying up for studs and safe with the amount of minutes he will be on the floor.
Best Cavs Value On The Board
Sure Kevin Love can be a liability on defense but if they are going to win this game they will need him on the floor producing a ton on offense. Love is only $100 more than Jeff Green and I think he is a great value on this slate. The upside is so high at this price and they will need him to knock down his threes to compete in this game. I think Love has a great floor and massive ceiling at this price, making him a good cash game value.
The Captain of My Ship Tonight
Durant is my favorite option to spend up on and be the captain pick on DraftKings and MVP on FanDuel. I don’t like my overall construction when I pay up for LeBron and I expect the Warriors to really win big tonight. If that’s the case I want Durant or Curry as my top spend up option on the slate. I lean Durant in cash games because he is more consistent and sometimes Curry can disappear from games when his shots not falling.
Need to gamble to have a shot in massive field GPP's
In order to have a chance to win a massive field GPP on a 1 game slate you are going to have to take some chances. Game 1 was a thriller but this feels like it could be a blowout opening minutes for some of these bench characters. I like Clarkson because he will shoot twice a minute and Cleveland may need to look to others who can create there own shot.. Lebron can’t get 50 every game and in this one I’m expecting Cleveland to look to Smith and Korver with Clarkson and potentially even Hood being strong values if this one starts to get out of hand. On the flipside I love Jordan Bell and Livingston regardless of game environment here. I think Mcgee offers some real upside and again, if things get out of hand. Dont be surprised to see some Mccaw. I suggest taking a stand on how you think the game plays and draft accordingly. Just make sure you try to get 1 or 2 of these guys at least in your GPP lineups.

If you are looking for the “safest” value play in Game 2, it’s probably Jeff Green. The Cavs don’t really need Tristan Thompson as much given the way that this series lines up, so Green should continue to play heavy minutes. He’s a decent enough per-minute producer that 30 minutes per game should lead to decent results at his current salary. Even though I don’t love the Cleveland side of this game, Green makes a lot of sense in all formats.
The Top Upside Plays in Game 2
I said before Game 1 that I liked the way Curry matched up in this series against Cleveland’s guards, and he responded by shooting 11-for-23 and posting a 29/6/9 line in the big overtime win. He may not be quite as safe as Durant, but Curry is close to that level in this matchup. Curry is my preferred high-end option in GPP formats, and he could be ready to put on a show from downtown in this game, which I believe the Warriors will win comfortably. As such, I will prioritize the Golden State stars over LeBron James today.

Four of Golden State’s starters played at least 45 minutes in the overtime game in the series opener, and you can bet that they will look to give the regulars some respite if this game gets out of hand. I’m fully of the belief that Cleveland expended the best performance they possibly could in Game 1, and they still fell short. This has all the makings of a blowout, and we know that Jordan Bell can produce on a per-minute basis when he gets the opportunity. Fire him up as a great contrarian GPP option.
Klay Thompson plans to play Sunday, officially listed questionable
During game one Klay Thompson hurt his ankle, after JR smith rolled up on it. Thompson returned to the game, but reports on Saturday suggested that his ankle had some swelling. The Warriors officially listed Thompson as questionable for Sunday’s game. When Thompson meant with reporters on Saturday, he said “ If game were today, he’s not sure if he’d play. On tomorrow: “I’m planning on playing”. If he can’t go on Sunday look for Patrick McCaw, Nick Young, and Shaun Livingston to pick up the load.

Kevin Love will start tonight and have no minutes restriction
As expected Kevin Love will start tonight in game one of the NBA finals. According to Ty Lue, Love won’t be on any type of minutes restriction for tonight. Look for Love to be around the 35 minute mark on Thursday. With Love starting, Jeff Green will head to the bench.
