Clint Capela

A Top Center Option Tonight

I really love the price tags for Capela on DK and FDRFT. During the regular season, it was always tough pegging the minutes for Capela. If he was in the low 20’s, he rarely made value. When he got 28-32, he often crushed for us. In the playoffs, it is looking like we can expect the higher end of the range of outcomes, which makes him a tad too cheap in my eyes. Additionally, Minnesota is terrible at defending centers, ranking 28th in defensive efficiency against that position during the regular season.

Larry Nance Jr.

A Cheap Power Forward To Target On FanDuel

Whether or not you think Nance plays close to 30 minutes again is almost irrelevant. Even if he just plays low 20’s, he is still too cheap on FD in my opinion. He got about 1.2 FD points per minute this season with Cleveland, so we don’t need a ton of minutes out of him to get us what we want. And if he happens to get the same run as last game, then he probably becomes the best play on the entire slate.

Darren Collison

Los Angeles Lakers

Still Under $6,000 On FD and DK? Sign Me Up.

This price tag on Collison is still just too cheap across the industry. Even if he only plays 30 minutes like he did in Game 1, we are getting a discount on him. If he would have shot anywhere close to respectable in Game 1, we’d be looking at the chalk at this price tag. And on top of that, I think there is a little room up on the minutes. You can easily make the case that they shortened his fourth quarter rotation a bit because of the blowout. Collison is a lock for me at point guard tonight.

LeBron James

Philadelphia 76ers

My Favorite Stud On The Slate

I am building around The King in all formats tonight. There has been a lot of talk about what happens with LeBron in the offseason, but I would be shocked if he lets another blowout happen like that to his team in the first round of the playoffs at home. Even if he has already moved on from Cleveland in his mind after the season, I don’t think he is wired to just lie down in the playoffs regardless of the circumstances. As such, I am expecting peak LeBron tonight and would want heavy exposure to him in all formats.

Maurice Harkless

Houston Rockets

Maurice Harkless available to play Tuesday

Portland will get Maurice Harkless back into their lineup for Game 2 versus New Orleans tonight. Harkless hasn’t played since March 25th with an knee injury. Harkless isn’t a preferred DFS target for tonight, with this being his 1st game back from injury. It’s unclear if he will start or if Evan Turner will remain in the starting lineup for Portland.

Fred VanVleet

Fred VanVleet will play Tuesday

VanVleet will play Tuesday after missing Saturday’s Game 1 match-up. Delon Wright saw minutes in the mid-twenties with both Lowry and DeRozan taking on bigger minute allotments compared to the regular season on Saturday, and we should see Wright’s time fall back into the high-teens while VanVleet himself pushes for 20-23 minutes of court time. It’s possible they utilize him in more three-guard lineups if the Wizards go small, but Washington played Gortat for nearly 30 minutes along with a few minutes of Ian Mahinmi, while Kelly Oubre logged just 16 minutes.

Fred VanVleet

Houston Rockets
4/17/18, 12:53 PM ET

Fred VanVleet listed doubtful Tuesday

Fred VanVleet is now listed as doubtful for game 2 tonight versus Washington, after being labeled a a game-time decision earlier in the day. VanVleet missed game 1, because of a shoulder injury. He did participate in shoot-around this morning. With VanVleet likely out of the lineup tonight, Delon Wright becomes the top value play on the slate. Last game, Wright scored 18 points in 25 minutes of action. He also added four assists and three steals.

Damian Lillard

Portland Trail Blazers
4/17/18, 11:04 AM ET

How Can You Fade this Point Guard?

The combination of an elite matchup and a must-win situation is too good to pass up. The Blazers failed to pick up a win against the Pelicans in Game 1 and can’t afford to lose both of their games at home. Expect big minutes and big production from Damian Lillard, who should play close to 40 minutes tonight. New Orleans could be in for a letdown effort after their big win and Lillard will be right there to take advantage of it.

Marcin Gortat

LA Clippers
4/17/18, 10:58 AM ET

Best Value on the Board

The masses are going to gravitate to Malcolm Brogdon as their top sleeper, but I have my concerns. Brogdon had a big overtime and Jabari Parker had an awful game. Those two things aren’t likely to happen again in Game 2. I’ll side with Marcin Gortat, who played 28 minutes in Game 1 despite getting into early foul trouble. If he plays 30 minutes tonight, he should easily reach and exceed value. The fact that the Wizards didn’t use Ian Mahinmi even with Gortat in foul trouble bodes well for his playing time in this series.

Kyle Lowry

Philadelphia 76ers
4/17/18, 10:57 AM ET

Time to Shine

Kyle Lowry did not play well in Game 1, but the Raptors still managed to hold on for the win. If they want to advance deep in the playoffs, they will need vintage Lowry. He is going to average minutes in the upper 30s during the postseason and he is currently priced at a steep discount. His matchup against John Wall isn’t ideal, but Lowry did average 1.06 fantasy points per minute during the regular season. This is a great bounce back spot for Lowry, especially at this price point.

Markieff Morris

Los Angeles Lakers
4/17/18, 10:33 AM ET

Returning Extreme Value

Morris was absolutely fantastic in Game 1 and appears ready to step up for the Wizards as they attempt to challenge the top seed in the Eastern Conference. His price tag remains very cheap across the industry, and he should be counted on for 34-36 minutes if this game stays close. Lock him in as a fine mid-range play with plenty of GPP upside.

Anthony Davis

Washington Wizards
4/17/18, 10:30 AM ET

The Top Ceiling... By a Wide Margin

Simply put, nobody touches the ceiling that Anthony Davis brings to the table on this slate. He was fantastic in Game 1 with a 35 & 14 line, and there’s enough value out there to where we can easily get Davis into our lineups. Fire him up with confidence as the top overall play in all formats.

Otto Porter Jr.

Utah Jazz
4/17/18, 10:24 AM ET

A Risk/Reward Mid-Range Play

Porter wasn’t all that great in the playoff opener, but it was a bit of a surprise that he even played in that game after being questionable with a calf injury. The good news is that he still played minutes in the 30’s, he should be more healthy after another day of rest, and the price tag has come down to a very manageable level. He doesn’t have the same ceiling now that John Wall is back, but that’s priced into his current tag. I’ll take some shots on him, especially if he is going to come in at relatively low GPP ownership.

Rajon Rondo

Cleveland Cavaliers
4/17/18, 10:20 AM ET

One of the Top GPP Plays Out There

We saw flashes of vintage Rondo during the regular season, but his minutes were always all over the place. He went through stretches where he would get 30+ minutes per game, but then he would be back in the teens a week later. It was very frustrating, but the Pelicans have perhaps saved his legs for the playoffs. Rondo was solid with eight boards and 17 assists in the Game 1 victory, and he should be ready to roll once again tonight.

Malcolm Brogdon

New York Knicks
4/17/18, 11:04 AM ET

Buy Low Opportunity

I like the price tag on Brogdon across the industry. We saw the minutes finally come up in Game 1 (he played 32) after he was out so long in the regular season with an injury. Even if they settle around 32 going forward for the most part, he is still a fine option in all formats. But I think we might have some room up on the minutes as well. Thus, he makes a ton of sense in cash games on both sites, and I don’t mind a decent amount of exposure in tournaments if we catch the higher end on the range of outcomes with the minutes.
