The Best Player In The Series Thus Far?
Jrue certainly stole the limelight in Game 2. Similar to his teammate, Anthony Davis, I have a hard time not hitting the lock button on him on DK where he is below $8,000. And I love the combo of him and D-Wade at my shooting guard spots on FD. $8,400 is a more appropriate price tag there, but he is still one of the best shooting guard options we have on this slate. Considering they have the highest team total on this three-game slate, I have no problem jamming in some Pelicans.
Wait, He Costs How Much On DraftKings?
Anthony Davis under $11,000 on DK? Sign me up every day for that. If you take out a matchup against the Jazz where the price is always depressed, he hasn’t been this cheap since the end of January. I don’t care that the Blazers are one of the better teams against opposing frontcourts. Anthony Davis below $11,000 when I know I am getting at least 40 minutes is an absolute lock for me in all formats.
Expect A Lot Of Minutes Again From This Power Forward
Considering James Johnson played 36.5 minutes in Game 2, and the Heat won handily, I think we can expect something similar out of him again tonight. And at these price tags across the industry, we don’t even need that many minutes out of him to be a good cash game play. However, that room up on the minutes puts him right in play for tournaments as well. He is one of my favorite power forwards on the slate due to the mid tier price tag.
Ryan Anderson ruled out Wednesday
As expected, the Rockets will once again be without Ryan Anderson for game 2 tonight versus Minnesota. Anderson hasn’t played since April 3rd with an ankle injury. It sounds like Anderson may be ready to go on Saturday.
As reported by: Mark Berman via twitterPaul George will start Wednesday
As expected Paul George will play tonight in Game 2. Yesterday, George was limited in practice with a hip injury he suffered in game 1, and Billy Donovan labeled him questionable for tonight. This is no surprise, George was expected to play despite the questionable tag, don’t be afraid to fire him into all of your lineups. He finished with 43 FDP in game 1.
As reported by: Andy Blarsen via twitterDonovan Mitchell will play Wednesday
Donovan Mitchell will suit up for game 2 tonight versus the Thunder. Mitchell injured his foot during game 1. With Mitchell playing, Royce O’Neale should no longer being considered a value play. Don’t be afraid to play Mitchell tonight, he scored over 50 FDP in game 1.
As reported by: Kyle Goon via twitterJR Smith and Kyle Korver will start Wednesday
It was hinted at all day that the Cavaliers would make a change to the starting lineup for Game 2 tonight versus the Pacers. Well, they did in fact shake things up, as JR Smith and Kyle Korver will enter the starting lineup for Jeff Green and Rodney Hood. Smith is the preferred play over Korver, who still may see limited minutes tonight, although he is starting.
As reported by: Tom Withers via Twitter Other tagged players: J.R. SmithCavs hinting at lineup change; JR Smith, Kyle Korver both candidates to enter starting lineup
Nothing official, but it sounds very much like we’ll see a new Cavs starting lineup tonight. It seems most likely that J.R. Smith enters the lineup in place of Rodney Hood, but it’s possible Kyle Korver also finds his way into the starting five in place of Jeff Green. Simply speculation at this point – we should have word before lock, but it’s possible we don’t.
As reported by: Tom WithersTrusting a Veteran in the Playoffs
People hate to roster Carmelo Anthony, it’s simply a fact. He has burned so many bridges this year and overall, has had a very subpar season. With that said, he is a tough cover for Derrick Favors, who is much better at defending the paint than he is the perimeter. Even though Anthony didn’t shoot the ball well in Game 1, he still finished with 38 fantasy points. Another outing like that and he’ll be priced in the mid-$6,000 range heading into Game 3.
Hard to Find Value at Small Forward
It doesn’t feel great recommending Bojan Bogdanovic when he’s going to be the chalk, but he’s going to play minutes in the mid-30s in a favorable matchup against the Cavaliers. Small forward is extremely thin in this slate and Bogdanovic does a little more than just shoot. If you look at his game logs, he’s actually better than most people realize when it comes to the peripheral stats.
George Hill will play Wednesday
George Hill will play in Game 2 tonight for the Cavs against the Pacers. Hill was listed as questionable, after being limited in practice with a back injury. Hill isn’t on the DFS radar for tonight. In Game 1, he played 19 minutes, and finished with just 7 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist.
As reported by: Cleveland Cavaliers via gamenotesMassive Upside at Center
Capela was absolutely fantastic in Game 1, as he put up 24 points and 12 rebounds in the win over Minnesota. Coach D’Antoni threw praise on him after the game, and his minutes should be secure going forward. His price tag on DraftKings is particularly juicy, but Capela is playable on all sites and in all formats today.
Reliable Value on a Short Slate
Corey Brewer continues to log heavy minutes for the Thunder for his defensive presence, and that’s not likely to change in the playoffs. It’s a struggle to find value on these playoff slates since we don’t have scrubs playing a lot of minutes, and Brewer does provide some stability with his affordable price tag. It’s not sexy, but he should be good for 25 or so fantasy points here.
Strong GPP Upside at Point Guard
There are a surprisingly healthy amount of viable point guards out there despite the fact that this is a short slate, and that might cause Rubio to get over-looked to some degree. He is coming off a 31 minute outing in Game 1, so all signs indicate that he is fully healthy. He also took 18 shots, which is a healthy dose for him, and he might be pressed into more of a role on offense tonight with Donovan Mitchell banged up. As usual, Rubio added seven rebounds, five assists, and four steals in the series opener, which adds to his GPP upside. Don’t sleep on him this evening.
Don't Mess with Angry LeBron
The Cavs looked lethargic and awful in Game 1, and if history tells us anything, that means were are set for an LBJ takeover in Game 2. Move over, everyone else. These are the types of games where we see performances in the line of 40/15/10 from James, and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him top 80 fantasy points here. He’s my favorite spend in all DFS formats on this Wednesday slate.
