Ben McLemore will start on Wednesday, Jarell Martin to the bench
In what appears to be a matchup move, the Grizzlies will start Ben McLemore ahead of Jareel Martin in tonight’s game vs The Suns. Even starting McLemore has very little appeal as he has played awful for most of the season. With Deyonta Davis out, Martin should still see 25 to 30 minutes of action and remains a decent source of salary relief on the slate.
As reported by: Memphis Grizzles Twitter Other tagged players: Jarell MartinOtto Porter will start Wednesday
Porter will start tonight vs the Warriors. With X-rays on his elbow negative, Porter will just have to deal with the soreness associated with his injury. The Wizards are nine-point home underdogs tonight, but against a face paced Golden State team, Porter and his teammates should have a decent opportunity to score fantasy points. Assuming the injured elbow does not affect his shot, Porter remains a great play for tonight’s game.
As reported by: Chase Hughes TwitterTJ Warren has been ruled out
As expected TJ Warren has officially been ruled out of tonight’s game vs. The Grizzlies. The team will hold out Warren as he deals with a tailbone injury. Josh Jackson will step into the starting role and becomes a great value play on the slate. Jackson should see around 30 minutes tonight and even vs a slow-paced Grizzlies team, he should have a great opportunity to pay off his salary.
As reported by: Phoenix Suns Twitter Other tagged players: Josh JacksonJames Ennis will start ahead of Stanley Johnson on Wednesday
Ennis will be inserted into the Detroit Pistons starting lineup at small forward for Wednesday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks, which will send Stanley Johnson to the bench to assume a reserve role. Ennis and Johnson essentially split the small forward minutes in Monday’s loss, so it’ll be interesting to see if head coach Stan Van Gundy takes that same approach again with the wing rotation or if Ennis begins to distance himself a bit from Johnson in terms of playing time. Either way, Ennis should be able to be safely projected for a minute total in the mid-20s, which puts him in play as a speculative tournament option at his low price tag if needing to save some salary at one of the forward positions.
As reported by: James Edwards III via TwitterT.J. Warren (tailbone contusion) downgraded to doubtful Wednesday
Warren has been downgraded to doubtful, according to interim head coach Jay Triano, for Wednesday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies after previously being listed as questionable on the Phoenix Suns’ injury report with a tailbone contusion he sustained during Monday’s loss. Meanwhile, Tyson Chandler was already ruled out and will miss his fifth consecutive game with a sore neck, but the Suns are hopeful to have him available for Friday’s matchup, though a return on their upcoming road trip seems more feasible. This means that Alex Len will likely start at center for the fifth time in as many games and is a prime bounce-back candidate after struggling from a fantasy perspective and fouling out in just 20 minutes trying to guard Anthony Davis on the defensive end of the floor. Assuming Warren is unable to suit up, Josh Jackson will draw the start at small forward, and ever since the Suns acquired Elfrid Payton prior to the trade deadline, he along with Len own at least a +4.7% usage rate differential with Warren off the court, while Len has averaged 1.21 fantasy points per minute on DraftKings and 1.33 on FanDuel in this scenario as well.
As reported by: Scott Bordow via Twitter Other tagged players: Josh JacksonMalcolm Delaney (knee strain) available to play Wednesday
Delaney participated in just a portion of Tuesday’s practice but is still available to play in Wednesday’s game against the Indiana Pacers, according to head coach Mike Budenholzer, after previously being listed as questionable on the Atlanta Hawks’ injury report with a strained right knee that has forced him to miss two consecutive games. However, even though Delaney is listed as active, Budenholzer didn’t definitively guarantee with reporters during his pregame media availability that he would play tonight and left open the possibility that he could make his actual return to the court in Friday’s contest. Additionally, DeAndre Bembry remains sidelined with a strained abdominal muscle for the second straight game, and his absence combined with Delaney’s enabled Tyler Dorsey and Isaiah Taylor to combine for 45 minutes of the bench, though a portion of that can be attributed to the fact that Dennis Schroder logged just 26 minutes as the starting point guard.
As reported by: KL Chouinard via TwitterDwight Howard (rib) will play Wednesday; Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (hamstring) and Cody Zeller (knee) ruled out
Howard has officially been cleared to play and will suit up for Wednesday’s game against the Boston Celtics after previously being considered probable with a right rhomboid spasm that forced him to miss a majority of Tuesday’s first half. Meanwhile, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Cody Zeller have been ruled out and following their original questionable designations on the injury report due to their respective ailments. This means that Treveon Graham will draw the start at small forward in order to keep Jeremy Lamb in his normal sixth-man role off the bench and would be the preferred option in daily fantasy formats given his higher floor and ceiling on a per minute basis. In Zeller’s absence, Guillermo Hernangomez and Frank Kaminsky will likely handle all the backup center minutes behind Howard in the frontcourt. Hernangomez is unlikely to become relevant for fantasy purposes, but Kaminsky could be worth a look in tournaments given the minute floor he already possesses as the Hornets backup power forward, so any additional minutes he sees at center would increase his overall ceiling.
As reported by: Charlotte Hornets PR via TwitterDanilo Gallinari (bruised hand) remains out Wednesday
Gallinari has officially been ruled out and won’t play in Wednesday’s game against the Houston Rockets due to a bruised right hand that has now forced him to miss three consecutive games. The Los Angeles Clippers will also be without Avery Bradley and Tyrone Wallace, who has been sent down to the G-League to preserve the final NBA day available on his two-way contract, and in a corresponding move, the Clippers recalled C.J. Williams from the G-League to play out the final NBA day in his own two-way contract. Wallace had started the last two games at shooting guard in place of Bradley and averaged nearly 34 minutes per game in those starts, so Williams is likely to see at least some run in the Clippers wing rotation, even if he comes off the bench, which appears likelier than not with Milos Teodosic being the leading candidate to start at point guard, a move that would slide Austin Rivers over to the shooting guard spot. That said, either way, Rivers, Teodosic, and Lou Williams should be expected to handle a large majority of the available guard and wing minutes in Gallinari and Wallace’s absences.
As reported by: Tomer Azarly via TwitterTony Snell (thigh contusion) listed out Wednesday
Snell has been listed out in the latest updated version of the Milwaukee Bucks’ injury report and won’t play in Wednesday’s game against the Detroit Pistons due to a right thigh contusion, while Matthew Dellavedova is also listed out with a sprained right ankle, despite recently returning to practice, and remains without an updated timetable for his return. In their absences and with Malcolm Brogdon still sidelined, Sterling Brown is likely to draw the start at the shooting guard spot and is actually listed as the probable starter in the Bucks’ game notes, and this would allow Jason Terry and Sean Kilpatrick to assume larger roles off the bench. Jabari Parker played 26 minutes on Tuesday night and surprisingly looks to be on track to play in his first back-to-back set of the season, though his status has not been definitively confirmed, as Milwaukee failed to list him with an injury designation on either version of their game notes leading up to tonight’s matchup.
As reported by: NBA.com Game NotesTyrone Wallace (two-way contract) ruled out Wednesday; C.J. Williams will play
Wallace has one NBA day remaining on his two-way contract with the Los Angeles Clippers and has officially been sent to the G-League, effectively ruling him out for Wednesday’s game against the Houston Rockets, while C.J. Williams has been recalled from the G-League and will play in tonight’s contest on the final NBA day of his two-way contract. The Clippers will also be without Avery Bradley and Danilo Gallinari, the latter missing his third consecutive game with a bruised left hand, which should enable Wesley Johnson to start at small forward once again. That said, either way, Rivers, Teodosic, and Lou Williams should be expected to handle a large majority of the available guard and wing minutes in Wallace and Danilo Gallinari’s absences.
As reported by: Lucas Hann via Twitter Other tagged players: C.J. WilliamsClint Capela (illness) upgraded to probable Wednesday
Capela has officially been upgraded to probable from questionable on the Houston Rockets’ injury report for Wednesday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers due to an illness that has already forced him to miss one game, while Eric Gordon was removed from the injury report and will be available to play following a four-absence stemming from an illness and a knee injury, respectively. Additionally, Ryan Anderson and Brandan Wright have already been ruled out with their respective ailments. Tarik Black drew the start at center in place of Capela in Monday’s win but only saw 18 minutes in a starting role, while Nene outproduced him from a fantasy perspective in 19 minutes off the bench. However, with Capela appearing to be on track to play, Black will more than likely be relegated from the rotation with head coach Mike D’Antoni preferring to utilize small-ball lineups following the return of Trevor Ariza from an extended injury absence and the recent addition of Joe Johnson on the wing in the second unit.
As reported by: Jonathan Feigen via TwitterT.J. Warren (tailbone contusion) questionable Wednesday
Warren has officially been listed as questionable on the latest version of the Phoenix Suns’ injury report for Wednesday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies due to a tailbone contusion he sustained during Monday’s loss. Meanwhile, Tyson Chandler has been ruled out and will miss his fifth consecutive game with a sore neck, but the Suns are hopeful to have him available for Friday’s matchup, though a return on their upcoming road trip seems more feasible. This means that Alex Len will likely start at center for the fifth time in as many games and is a prime bounce-back candidate after struggling from a fantasy perspective and fouling out in just 20 minutes trying to guard Anthony Davis on the defensive end of the floor. If Warren is unable to suit up, Josh Jackson will more than likely draw the start at small forward, and ever since the Suns acquired Elfrid Payton prior to the trade deadline, he along with Len own at least a +4.7% usage rate differential with Warren off the court, while Len has averaged 1.21 fantasy points per minute on DraftKings and 1.33 on FanDuel in this scenario as well.
As reported by: Scott Bordow via TwitterPau Gasol (knee bone bruise) officially ruled out Wednesday
Gasol has officially been ruled out and won’t play in Wednesday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans after previously being listed as doubtful on the San Antonio Spurs’ injury report with a left knee bone bruise he sustained during Sunday’s win. Meanwhile, Manu Ginobili has already confirmed with reporters that he will return from a one-game absence due to a bruised sternum. Even with Danny Green active and available, Patty Mills drew the start alongside DeJounte Murray in the backcourt and eclipsed the 33-minute mark for the second straight game, which limited Green to just 22 minutes off the bench but didn’t hinder his production for daily fantasy formats in any way, as he was able to still exceed salary-based expectations. Murray appears to be strengthening his stranglehold on the starting point guard role following a massive fantasy performance in 33 minutes on Sunday, and he also owns a +2.0% usage rate differential with Gasol and Kawhi Leonard off the court this season, enabling him to average 1.14 fantasy points per minute on DraftKings and 1.17 on FanDuel in this scenario as well.
As reported by: the San Antonio Spurs via TwitterDaniel Theis (sore hamstring) ruled out Wednesday
Theis has officially been ruled out and won’t play in Wednesday’s game against the Houston Rockets despite previously being listed as probable in the Boston Celtics’ game notes with a sore right hamstring. Theis was displaced from the starting lineup in the Celtics most recent contest in favor Aron Baynes, who returned from a one-game absence due to a sprained left elbow, but Theis still logged 24 minutes off the bench, easily outplaying Baynes in his 15 minutes of action as the starter. Even though Greg Monroe was a DNP-CD in Monday’s win, head coach Brad Stevens insisted to reporters after the game that he would continue to see playing time in the frontcourt rotation, and with Theis unavailable, he should be in line for an increased role off the bench as the primary backup center.
As reported by: Adam Himmelsbach via TwitterAaron Gordon (hip) will play Wednesday; Jonathan Isaac (ankle) remains out
Gordon has officially been cleared to play and will suit up for Wednesday’s game against the Toronto Raptors after previously being listed as questionable on the Orlando Magic’s injury report with a sore left hip. Meanwhile, Jonathan Isaac will be held out for at least one more game due to a sore right ankle that has kept him sidelined since the end of December, despite his original questionable designation on the injury report. Gordon and Nikola Vucevic each returned from extended injury absences out of the All-Star break and have gradually seen their playing time increased in every game, as each logged a minimum of 32 minutes in Monday’s loss. A direct repercussion of the aforementioned duo’s return to normal starting minutes was that Mario Hezonja saw just 15 minutes off the bench after logging at least 24 minutes in each of the Magic’s previous 12 games.
