Trollin, Trollin, Trollin
Oh, Mr. Hardaway. After breaking all of our hearts for the first two weeks of the season, Hardaway went and posted a monster line against the Cavs on Sunday. If you played him earlier in the year and didn’t play him last night, feel free to shake your fist, Abe Simpson style. While we can’t expect 50+ fantasy points again, Hardaway should still be the #2 option on this offense outside of Porzingis, and he remains dirt cheap on every site, as yesterday’s game isn’t priced in yet. The matchup is fine, and look for him to heat up this week.
Frank Kaminsky (illness) questionable Monday
Kaminsky has been listed as questionable on the Charlotte Hornets’ injury report for tonight’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies with an illness that has already forced him to miss Sunday’s contest. In his absence, Treveon Graham absorbed most of the backup power forward minutes given the matchup with a mobile Aaron Gordon, but Cody Zeller could be in line for a bigger minute workload than originally planned given the matchup with the Grizzlies frontcourt, should Kaminsky miss a second straight game. That said, Graham and Johnny O’Bryant will also likely chip in at the backup power forward spot with Zeller still getting back up to full game speed in his second game back. With Graham available to play and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist still likely on minutes restriction of around 20 minutes, there is certainly still some opportunity on the wing for the likes of Jeremy Lamb, Marvin Williams, and even Dwayne Bacon off the bench. The Hornets are still without Michael Carter-Williams and Nicolas Batum as well, so despite his likely bench role moving forward, Bacon will continue to be a key cog in the Charlotte rotation along with Malik Monk, who is acting as the primary backup point guard with Carter-Williams sidelined.
As reported by: Rick Bonnell via TwitterEric Gordon (illness) will play Monday; Nene (Achilles) is questionable
Gordon has been cleared to play in tonight’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers after missing the Houston Rockets’ previous game with an illness. His return will send Luc Mbah a Moute back to the bench to resume his normal reserve role. Additionally, Nene has been listed as questionable with a sore left Achilles that has been nagging him this past week. Gordon’s presence in the starting lineup is a slight knock on the projected fantasy value of James Harden, who has been relatively inconsistent (for him) at his price tag with Chris Paul sidelined, but he did put up a respectable performance against this same Sixers squad last week and will draw individual matchups with Jerryd Bayless and T.J. McConnell, neither of whom are highly regarded defenders, let alone guarding a player of Harden’s caliber.
As reported by: Jonathan Feigen via Twitter Other tagged players: Nene HilarioWayne Ellington (illness) questionable Monday; Hassan Whiteside (knee) remains out
Ellington has been added to the Miami Heat’s injury report and is officially listed as questionable for tonight’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves due to an illness. He didn’t participate in shootaround and will likely be a game-time decision, though Hassan Whiteside has been confirmed out, as expected. If Ellington is unable to suit up, his minutes should be absorbed mostly by Justise Winslow off the bench, though both Josh Richardson and Dion Waiters could also see some extra run, making them interesting tournament options on Monday’s slate in an exploitable matchup with Minnesota.
As reported by: Manny Navarro via Twitter Other tagged players: Hassan WhitesideFrank Kaminsky (illness) ruled out Sunday
Kaminsky has been ruled out and won’t play in tonight’s game against the Orlando Magic after previously being considered a game-time decision with an illness. A Charlotte Hornets beat writer had reported earlier in the afternoon that Kaminsky was likely to play in a possibly limited role but that apparently won’t be the case after Kaminsky went through pregame warmups. Cody Zeller is set to make his return from a four-game absence due to a right knee bone bruise and will displace Johnny O’Bryant as the Hornets primary backup center. Additionally, Zeller will now likely be in line for a bigger minute workload than originally planned with Kaminsky unavailable. That said, O’Bryant and Treveon Graham will also likely chip in at the backup power forward spot with Zeller still getting back up to full game speed. With Graham available to play and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist still on minutes restriction of around 20 minutes, there is certainly still some opportunity on the wing for the likes of Jeremy Lamb, Marvin Williams, and even Dwayne Bacon off the bench.
As reported by: Charlotte Hornets PR via TwitterDerrick Rose (ankle sprain) will play Sunday, limited to around 28 minutes
Rose has been cleared to play in tonight’s game against the New York Knicks after he was previously listed as questionable on the Cleveland Cavaliers’ injury report with a sprained left ankle that had forced him to miss three consecutive games. He will be limited to around 28 minutes in his return to action, according to head coach Tyronn Lue, limiting Rose’s daily fantasy appeal in tournaments given his capped upside. Meanwhile, Dwyane Wade will play on the second night of a back-to-back set and will come off the bench once again. It’s important to note that the Cavaliers have already announced that they plan to deploy a new starting lineup starting Sunday, featuring Rose, J.R. Smith, LeBron James, Kevin Love, and Tristan Thompson.
As reported by: clevelanddotcom Cavs via TwitterTreveon Graham (quad) available to play Sunday
Graham is officially available to play in tonight’s game against the Orlando Magic after previously being listed as questionable on the Charlotte Hornets’ injury report with a right quad contusion. Graham was technically active for Friday’s contest as well but was only dressed as an emergency reserve, so it remains to be seen if he’ll actually see the court. Cody Zeller is set to make his return from a four-game absence due to a right knee bone bruise and will displace Johnny O’Bryant as the Hornets primary backup center. Additionally, Zeller could now be in line for a bigger minute workload than originally planned should Frank Kaminsky, who remains a game-time decision but is reportedly likely to suit up, is unable to manage a full minute workload. With Graham available and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist still on minutes restriction of around 20 minutes, there is certainly still additional opportunity, though not quite as much, on the wing for the likes of Jeremy Lamb, Marvin Williams, and even Dwayne Bacon off the bench.
As reported by: the Charlotte Hornets via Twitter Other tagged players: Frank KaminskyJonathan Isaac (illness) ruled out Sunday
Isaac is reportedly dealing with an illness and will not play in tonight’s game against the Charlotte Hornets despite never appearing on the Orlando Magic’s injury report. The team has activated Khem Birch to replace Isaac on the active roster but he shouldn’t be expected to see significant playing time after recording just five minutes of action this season, instead look for Aaron Gordon, Mario Hezonja, and possibly even Marreese Speights to pick up the slack at power forward in the second unit with Isaac unavailable.
As reported by: John Denton via TwitterDeMarre Carroll (sore ankle) ruled out Sunday
Carroll has been ruled out and won’t play in tonight’s game against the Denver Nuggets after previously being listed as questionable on the Brooklyn Nets’ injury report with a sore right ankle. With Carroll officially unable to suit up, Allen Crabbe is the likeliest candidate to draw the start at small forward alongside Caris LeVert, though LeVert looks to have the upper hand in terms of a usage and potential upside, making him the clearly better tournament option. Additionally, with Quincy Acy also unavailable due to a strained left groin, Trevor Booker and Jarrett Allen will likely split his minute workload off the bench in an effort to pick up the slack in the frontcourt with the second unit.
As reported by: Tom Lorenzo via TwitterErsan Ilyasova (knee bone bruise) will miss 1-2 weeks
The Atlanta Hawks have announced that Ilyasova underwent an MRI and is expected to miss 1-2 weeks with left knee bone bruise. The extended absence of Ilyasova will reopen up more minutes and opportunity for John Collins off the bench, who has averaged well over a fantasy point per minute this season, and even Mike Muscala, who has started at power forward in the two games Ilyasova has missed in recent days and will likely continue to start for the foreseeable future while Ilyasova is sidelined with injury.
As reported by: Michael Cunningham via TwitterGreg Monroe (sore calf) ruled out Sunday
Monroe has been ruled out in advance of today’s game against the Atlanta Hawks due to left calf soreness despite never appearing on the Milwaukee Bucks’ injury report at any point in time. Monroe typically sees between 16-20 minutes on any given night, as head coach Jason Kidd tends to ride the “hot hand” at center, and a majority of those minutes will likely be absorbed by John Henson off the bench, though Thon Maker may also see slightly more run than normal. This makes Henson, in particular, an interesting tournament option on Sunday’s slate given his expected minute increase for nearly minimum salary across the industry.
As reported by: Matt Velazquez via TwitterFrank Kaminsky (illness) questionable Sunday
Kaminsky has been added to the Charlotte Hornets’ injury report for tonight’s game against the Orlando Magic due to an illness. He’ll join Treveon Graham, who is also listed as questionable, as a member of the Charlotte walking wounded. However, Cody Zeller is set to make his return from a four-game absence due to a right knee bone bruise and will displace Johnny O’Bryant as the Hornets primary backup center. Additionally, Zeller could now be in line for a bigger minute workload than originally planned should Kaminsky eventually be ruled out. With Graham possibly unavailable and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist still on minutes restriction of around 20 minutes, there is certainly still plenty of opportunity on the wing for the likes of Jeremy Lamb, Marvin Williams, and even Dwayne Bacon off the bench.
As reported by: Charlotte Hornets PR via TwitterA Small Forward To Target
There’s enough value on today’s slate to comfortably pay up for Kevin Durant. The small forward options aren’t the greatest on this slate, with LeBron James and Kevin Durant being the two safest options. There’s really not much else to say about Durant – he’s scored at least 40 DK points in every game this season and is coming off a dominant performance that saw him drop a 31-11-6 line on the Wizards. Plug him in.
No Veterans? No Problem.
With Zach Randolph resting, Skal Labissiere becomes a must play in cash games. Here are the stats Skal posted when Randolph missed the 10/18 season opener vs the Rockets – 12 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 33 mins. On the season, Skal is averaging 22.6 minutes per game and has been a fantasy point per minute type player. He’ll probably be fairly chalky but you should just plug him in for cash games.
DeMarre Carroll (ankle) questionable for Sunday; Quincy Acy (groin) ruled out
Carroll has officially been listed as questionable on the Brooklyn Nets’ injury report for tomorrow’s game against the Denver Nuggets with a sore right ankle, while Quincy Acy has been ruled out with a strained left groin. If Carroll is unable to suit up, Allen Crabbe is the likeliest candidate to draw the start at small forward alongside Caris LeVert, though LeVert looks to have the upper hand in terms of a usage and possible upside, making him the better tournament option. Additionally, with Acy unavailable, Trevor Booker and Jarrett Allen will likely split his minute workload off the bench in an effort to pick up the slack in the second unit.
