Lou Williams expected to play limited minutes tonight
Williams will likely make his Rockets debut in tonight’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans but is expected to play very limited minutes, according to Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni. Eventually, Williams’ presence in Houston’s rotation will cut into the usage of Eric Gordon with the second unit, but Gordon seems to safe for at least one more game and is a viable option on Thursday’s slate.

Terrence Jones officially waived by New Orleans
In an expected move, the New Orleans Pelicans have officially announced that they have released forward Terrence Jones so that he can pursue other options. Jones shouldn’t have been on your fantasy radar for tonight’s slate anyway with DeMarcus Cousins now in NOLA, but Jones should now definitively be avoided in all formats.

Ross will be inserted into the Magic’s starting lineup for tonight’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers, replacing Jeff Green and sliding Aaron Gordon down to the power forward spot. Elfrid Payton has also been confirmed in the starting five in place of the injured C.J. Watson, who had recently taken over the starting point guard role. It will be interesting to see how the Magic’s rotation shakes out with Ross now in the fold and sans Serge Ibaka, but realistically any member of Orlando’s starting unit are in play against an exploitable Portland squad this evening.

Williams has been waived by Dallas and is expected to head to Cleveland. The Cavs were in search of a player like Williams and he should fit in seamlessly behind Kyrie Irving. Deron Williams will obviously not be available for tonight’s game.

The Rockets officially have Lou Williams on the roster but he is not expected to play tonight. He will practice with the team on Friday and is expected to play on Saturday against the Timberwolves. Williams will be used behind Eric Gordon and will be a risky option unless Gordon is out of the lineup. Expect James Harden to play a little bit less with Williams in town but it won’t drastically affect Harden’s overall numbers.

Pau Gasol has been out over a month after he fractured his finger in pregame warmups against Denver. The Spurs are listing him a probable to play and he is expected to start. Gasol’s salary did not dip during his time away and he’ll be a GPP options against a strong front line. Gasol did play well against the Clippers earlier this season but still barely exceeded value in that game. With so many options on the slate, it’ll be tough to recommend Gasol in cash games. LaMarcus Aldridge will also be a risky option since both players rarely played well together.

Enes Kanter has missed the last 10 games after he punched a chair and fractured his forearm. Kanter is expected to be available against the Lakers but the Thunder also acquired Taj Gibson at the deadline. Gibson will likely slot into the starting PF slot and Domantas Sabonis will share time with Kanter as the backup big men. Considering the game is against the Lakers, there is some upside to be had here. Still, considering the jam at the position, they’ll all be risky GPP options until we get a clearer picture on the rotation moving forward.

Sefolosha has missed the last nine games due to a groin injury but is no longer on the Hawks’ injury report. Sefolosha will likely come off the bench in his return and it could affect the upside of Tim Hardaway Jr. THJ was playing heavy minutes in the absence of Sefolosha but likely settle back in the 28-32 range. With Hardaway’s salary having spiked, he’s going to be a risky GPP option. Sefolosha does not carry enough upside to use him on a ten-game slate.

Thaddeus Young has missed the last eight games due to a sprained wrist and is being listed for Thursday’s contest. Lavoy Allen has missed the last three due to a sore knee and is also being listed as questionable. If Young is able to play, he will likely return to the starting lineup. Kevin Seraphin has started the last three games but has not played well enough for us to roster him if Young and Allen are out. Look for another update from the Pacers tomorrow.

Brandan Wright will not play against the Pacers on Friday due to personal reasons. Wright was a volatile DFS option even when he played and only played 20 minutes in three of his last six games. JaMychal Green could see a slight bump in minutes but he’s far from a reliable option. Zach Randolph sees more time on the court and would be the more reliable option on Friday.

Manu Ginobili is expected to play against the Clippers on Friday. Ginobili is not a reliable DFS option but his presence impedes the progress of Jonathon Simmons. With both players available, neither player should be on your rosters on a 10-game slate. Look for more reliable options on Friday.

The Brooklyn Nets have waived Marcus Thornton whom they acquired on Wednesday in a trade with the Wizards. The Nets also acquired K.J. McDaniels and likely needed the roster spot. McDaniels is a nice addition to the Nets but lacks offensive polish. Marcus Thornton will head to the waiver wire and hope to be scooped up by a team in contention for a title. With New Orleans also looking for a guard, there is a slight chance they look to acquire his services.

The New Orleans Pelicans will try to add a guard and waive Terrence Jones. With Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins expected to play 35+ minutes, there was no opportunity for Jones to make a significant impact. No other details have been sent out by the team in regards to Jones.

The Phoenix Suns have traded P.J. Tucker to the Toronto Raptors for Jared Sullinger and two second-round picks. The picks are for the 2017 and 2018 NBA draft and are not protected. Tucker will likely come off the bench for Toronto and is viewed as a defensive stopper. Jared Sullinger is in the final year of his deal and has been dealing with a foot injury all season long. T.J. Warren will likely play 32-36 minutes unless he is in foul trouble for the rest of the season and should be considered an elite play until his salary spikes drastically.

The Suns add some frontcourt depth with the acquisition of Scott from the Hawks. He should be able to see a bigger role than the one he had in Atlanta where he typically played around 10 minutes per game.
