Patrick Patterson (knee) ruled out for tonight; Serge Ibaka will not play as well
Patterson will not play in tonight’s game against the Charlotte Hornets after previously being listed as questionable on the Raptors’ injury report with a left knee contusion that has now forced him to miss six consecutive games. Jakob Poeltl has been starting at power forward alongside Jonas Valanciunas the last two games, but he was replaced by Norman Powell to start the second half of Tuesday’s loss to the Chicago Bulls, adding some uncertainty to the Raptors’ projected starting lineup. Whichever one of Powell or Poeltl starts, could be worth a look in tournaments, though Powell would be the more intriguing option. Lucas Nogueira should continue seeing some extra run off the bench at both the power forward and center spots and he would seemingly be the preferred big man punt option, as he has consistently seen minutes in the mid-to-upper 20’s in the most recent games Patterson has been sidelined.

Lavoy allen (sore right knee) downgraded to doubtful; Rakeem Christmas will be active if Allen is ruled out
Allen has been downgraded to doubtful for tonight’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers after previously being listed as questionable on the Pacers’ injury report with right knee soreness that seems likely to keep him sidelined for a second consecutive game. With Thaddeus Young already ruled out, Kevin Seraphin should step into the starting lineup at the power forward spot once again. Seraphin did see 27 minutes of action in his previous start so he could be worth a look in tournaments against a Kevin Love-less Cavaliers squad if Allen is eventually ruled out.

Green will be inserted into the Magic’s starting lineup for tonight’s game against the San Antonio Spurs in place of the recently traded Serge Ibaka. It remains unclear whether Green or Aaron Gordon will spend a majority of their time at power forward. The matchup with San Antonio isn’t particularly great, so there is really no need to chase either forward on tonight’s massive 14-game slate, but the Magic rotation is certainly one to monitor going forward, especially once Terrence Ross is cleared to play. Speaking of Ross, he has passed his physical with Orlando but his status for Wednesday’s contest still remains uncertain as the Magic await word from the League and the Raptors on the finalization of yesterday’s trade between the two teams.

Larry Nance is being listed as probable after he suffered a thumb sprain in last night’s game against the Kings. The Lakers are unclear about when the injury occurred but he should still be in action tonight. If Nance is ruled out, Julius Randle should be considered an elite option since he’ll likely play over 32 minutes against a Phoenix squad that ranks 28th in defensive efficiency.

Wilson Chandler has been upgraded to questionable and has a shot to play since he’s simply dealing with an illness and not an injury. With the Nuggets playing in one of the later games on the slate, don’t expect an update on Chandler to arrive before lineups lock. With Chandler possibly playing, the Nuggets starters (Nelson, Barton, Harris, Jokic) should be considered tournament options rather than the cash game plays that they are now. Chandler will likely play 36+ minutes with the Nuggets so depleted, making him a strong tournament option as well. Using Chandler on a 14-game slate is extremely risky and it’s more viable of a play once we have news for the later slates.

Aminu suffered a knee (sprain) injury in the teams last game and will miss Portland’s game tonight against the Utah Jazz. Noah Vonleh, Ed Davis, and Meyers Leonard all stand to split the 30 or so minutes Aminu would normally play but it’s a tough match up against the defensive-minded Jazz. That said if you’re looking for value, one of those three could fit the bill for you tonight.

Thabo Sefolosha questionable for tonight for Atlanta
He’s been out for the better part of two weeks and it would seem the team would want to wait until after the All-Star break to have Sefolosha return but he is listed as questionable for tonight. We’ll keep an eye on this situation and update you later when more news comes in.

The recently signed forward is dealing with an ankle sprain and has been ruled out tonight for the Timberwolves. He hasn’t been a huge part of the rotation outside of one game on his current ten day contract so the impact of his absence is minimal.

Mudiay, Darrell Arthur, Kenneth Faried, and Danilo Gallinari were all expected to miss tonight’s game for the Nuggets but Wilson Chandler is a somewhat surprising addition to the injury ravaged Nuggets. Pretty much anyone in the rotation is in play for Denver who take on the Timberwolves in what should be one of the higher scoring games of the night. The biggest beneficiaries from a DFS standpoint figure to be Will Barton, Juan Hernangomez, and Jameer Nelson while Nikola Jokic will again be an elite option. Even Mason Plumlee who will make his Nuggets debut tonight is in play as he should approach 30 minutes with the Nuggets having a limited number of healthy bodies available.

Anderson cut the thumb on his shooting hand the other night at home but will play tonight after going through shootaround with no issues. He’s a somewhat risky, with high upside, option tonight squaring off against a Miami Heat team that is top 10 in fantasy points allowed per game.

Noah has been out for nearly two weeks and Willy Hernangomez has been solid as the starter in his absence averaging a double-double. He has a tougher match up tonight against Steven Adams and the Thunder but is certainly in play at his price point.

Originally not expected to play today, the Mavericks veteran center went through shootaround and the team had decided to let him play tonight. He’s been out for over two weeks so he’ll likely be limited in minutes and is not a viable DFS options.

The 76ers were hoping to deal Okafor and he missed the team’s initial flight for their road trip. Unable to move him, he will rejoin the team tonight and is expected to come off the bench. Nerlens Noel will continue to start and is a viable DFS option going against a Boston Celtics team that is 22nd in center DvP.

Lawson will not play in tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers after previously being listed as questionable on the Kings’ injury report with a strained left hamstring that has now forced him to miss three consecutive games. Ben McLemore will remain in the starting lineup at shooting guard once again. With Lawson officially ruled out, Darren Collison is the only true point guard available for Sacramento and will see all the minutes he can handle with Garrett Temple also remaining sidelined. Collison has seen at least 42 minutes of playing time in two of the last three games Lawson has missed and should be expected to find himself in that ballpark again this evening, making him a virtual must play on FanDuel and a viable option on DraftKings.

He could be worth a look in tournaments but it remains to be seen how this new Raptors frontcourt rotation shakes out. as Poeltl only saw 19 minutes in his prior start. Lucas Nogueira should continue seeing some extra run off the bench at both the power forward and center spots and he would seemingly be the preferred punt option of the two, as he has consistently seen minutes in the mid-to-upper 20’s in the most recent games Patterson has been sidelined. However, if not for the small three-game slate, there would typically be much better value options available at nearly every position.
