Joakim Noah and Lance Thomas officially ruled out
Noah and Thomas will not play in tonight’s game against the Denver Nuggets after previously being listed as doubtful on the Knicks’ injury report with their respective injuries. Kyle O’Quinn has drawn the start at center in the last two games, but Guillermo Hernangomez replaced him in the starting unit at the start of second half of Wednesday’s loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. O’Quinn is the likeliest to continue starting for Noah, but regardless of starter, both O’Quinn and Hernangomez are in play for tournaments, but Knicks’ head coach Jeff Hornacek’s frontcourt rotations are too inconsistent to trust either big man in cash games this evening.

Joel Embiid (left knee contusion) continues to be out for the Sixers, will not play Saturday vs. Miami
Joel Embiid will continue to be out for the Sixers as they play Miami Heat tomorrow. Jahlil Okafor will likely continue to start and is a viable option. He does carry some risk since Hassan Whiteside does draw a healthy amount of fouls on opposing big men. Nerlens Noel will also be tasked with guarding Whiteside but is not an elite option unless he starts or Okafor is out. Richaun Holmes is dealing with an illness and is also expected to be available.

Eric Gordon missed the previous game for the Rockets and is considered questionable for Saturday’s game against the Suns. He was unable to participate in practice so we should look for another update after shootaround tomorrow. Nene was back at practice after he also did not play last night. Nene will likely play off the bench on Saturday.

Alex Len will be suspended for tonight’s game after he left the bench area in Phoenix’s loss to the Grizzlies on Wednesday. Marquese Chriss will likely see a bump in minutes but he remains a GPP option only since the rookie has yet to show he can be a consistent option. Dragan Bender is also out, so we could see a bump in Jared Dudley minutes as well. Dudley is not a reliable option off the bench and would need Chriss to get into foul trouble to play heavy minutes. Tyson Chandler should be considered an elite option at the position since Alen Len is his direct backup.

Paul Zipser will not play against the Suns tonight and is considered day-to-day due to ankle tendinitis. With Dwyane Wade not 100% healthy and Jimmy Butler still not confident in his heel, Doug McDermott should see a bump in playing time. If Butler is out again, we should expect Michael Carter-Williams to also start and play a ton of minutes against the Suns. MCW could be an elite tournament option since Zipser is out along with Butler and Wade dealing with their issues. Since we likely won’t find out about Butler until after lock Carter-Williams does still carry considerable risk.

West and Pachulia were already assumed to be out and this is confirmation of that. McGee is available but isn’t a viable DFS option as his playing time is limited to less than 20 minutes and fluctuates too much to be relied upon.

Dwyane Wade will play tonight for Bulls; Jimmy Butler a game-time decision
Wade said he still isn’t fully recovered from his illness but is going to tough it out tonight when Chicago takes on Phoenix. Meanwhile, Jimmy Butler stated his heel doesn’t feel great but that he’s going to warm up with the hopes that he can play tonight. With this being the latest game on the slate it makes rostering both of these players high risk. Michael Carter-Williams stands to benefit the most from either player missing time and can be considered a contrarian (but obviously risky) GPP play. We’ll continue to monitor this situation and update you as soon as we learn more.

Randolph missed the Grizzlies last game but is expected to play tonight against Golden State. It’s a hit to the value of JaMychal Green and Brandan Wright while Randolph himself is a GPP play, especially on DraftKings where he is only $5.6K.

Moore is unlikely to play tonight after being listed by the team as doubtful. Tyreke Evans and Terrence Jones join him on the injury report as those two are listed as questionable. It’s a downgrade for Jones who was added to the report with a thumb injury – definitely not a good sign heading into a game and usually an indicator that the player might sit. Buddy Hield and Langston Galloway would benefit the most from Moore’s absence with Hield the preferred option of the two. While Dante Cunningham would probably start if Jones sat but is not a viable DFS option due to his limited ability to score.

Morris missed the teams last game but should be back tonight against Indiana as he has told local media that he will play. He’s been an outstanding performer recently and is a safe option but his upside is limited given his current price point. Kelly Oubre will move back to the second unit after a tremendous dud starting on Wednesday for Morris.

Young was expected to sit out Friday and Saturday’s game so this is merely confirmation of that news. Lavoy Allen has started with Young out and has put up good, but not great, numbers in those outings. He’s a shaky DFS option but could have some value if Markieff Morris sits for the Wizards again and Kelly Oubre starts at the four as he’d have a significant size advantage on Oubre.

Three of the Nuggets core rotation will be out Friday against the Knicks as Mudiay, Faried, and Gallinari have all been ruled out. Wilson Chandler, Will Barton, and Nikola Jokic all figure to see increased usage in a game that has a huge total and all three are in play. It also means bigger roles for Jameer Nelson, Juancho Hernangomez, and Jamal Murray and those three are risky, but viable, GPP options given the shootout expectation.

It was reported late last night that Lawson would be doubtful for the Kings tonight against the Hawks. He should be fine in the near future but it looks as if Darren Collison will get significant run today in a plus matchup against Dennis Schroder. He’s an elite option on today’s NBA slate.

The Heat veteran guard will continue to sit out with an ankle injury which means we’ll probably see another start from Wayne Ellington. He is a viable DFS value option along with Rodney McGruder (who saw 30+ minutes last game) when Miami takes on a Brooklyn Nets team that is dead last in shooting guard DvP.

Sefolosha will miss his seventh consecutive game. He did travel with the team, however, so there is a chance that he plays in the near future. Tim Hardaway Jr. will likely continue to start in his place – he’s been a steady performer in this role and is worth a look as a mid-range GPP option.
