Kevin Love (knee) will play against the Nets tonight; expected to start
Love will play in tonight’s game against the Brooklyn Nets after previously being listed as questionable with a left knee contusion that had caused him to miss two consecutive games. Love’s presence in the starting lineup is clearly a knock to the projected fantasy outlook of LeBron James and Kyrie Irving, though both still remain viable options this evening. The biggest loser of the return of Love is actually Tristan Thompson, as his minute floor and expected rebounding totals should be expected to be lowered. Thompson is now a long shot tournament option, at best, despite the ideal DvP matchup.

Evan Fournier (heel) ruled out; Jodie Meeks starts in his place tonight
Fournier will not play in tonigt’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers after previously being listed as questionable on the Magics’ injury report with a right heel contusion. Jodie Meeks will draw the start at shooting guard, while the rest of the Magic starting five will remain the same. Meeks obviously deserves consideration as a punt option in tournaments for the stone minimum across the industry. However, D.J. Augustin actually leads the Magic with the 5.0% usage rate differential (26.8%) with Fournier off the court this season. Unfortunately, Augustin needs to be reserved for tournaments only, as he continue to sees less playing time than Elfried Payton at point guard despite being the “starter”. Meeks is preferred punt option of the two depending on individual roster construction.

The news that Gasol and Parker was sent out after the Spurs loss to the Clippers last night and Manu Ginobili was already out for tonight. No starter has been named in place of Gasol or Parker but Nicolas Laprovittola has started in place of Parker many times this season. He is a low-end DFS option and Patty Mills will benefit more with Parker out of the lineup. David Lee and Dewayne Dedmon could start in place of Gasol. We’ll send another update once we receive something official.

Black will not play in tonight’s game against the Orlando Magic after previously being listed as questionable on the Lakers’ injury report with a sprained right ankle that has kept him sidelined for eight of the past nine games. The Lakers will be shorthanded in the front court once again, as Julius Randle and Larry Nance remain out as well, meaning that Lakers head coach Luke Walton will need to rely on the trio of Timofey Mozgov, Luol Deng, and Thomas Robinson to play the majority of the vacant front court minutes. Brandon Ingram is expected to remain in the starting lineup at small forward, while Deng will hold down the power forward spot for the second consecutive night.

Wade is reportedly feeling better and is fully expected to play in tonight’s game against the Charlotte Hornets after previously being listed as probable on the Heat’s injury report due to migraines. Wade is on track to play and will not be limited by a minutes restriction.

Tim Hardaway will not play against the Nuggets tonight. Hardaway was coming off the bench so this will likely mean more minutes for Kent Bazemore tonight. Bazemore has played over 30 minutes in three straight games and played 40 minutes against the Thunder. His floor looks relatively safe with the minutes he’s expected to get and has shown his GPP upside already, having scored over 35 fantasy points on multiple occasions this season.

Chris Paul hurt his hamstring in the 3rd quarter of last night’s game and is officially listed as questionable for tonight’s game. Austin Rivers would most likely start if Paul is out but nothing official has been sent from the team at this time. Look for another update later in the day as the Clippers did not hold a shootaround for tonight’s game.

Barea only played 20 minutes in two games after missing a month due to injury and he’s returned to Dallas for further tests and will miss tonight’s game for the Mavericks. It’s not all bad news, however, as Dirk Nowitzki will return after missing the past 14 games. He’s hard to trust in his first game back from that prolonged absence, especially with no idea of how many minutes he will play. Deron Williams should see all the minutes he can handle with Barea out again.

Rudy Gay OUT for Kings; Omri Casspi questionable
Gay hasn’t played since the 12th and will not change that tonight as the team has ruled him out for their game against the Timberwolves. Omri Casspi has also been out awhile (since the 14th) but he has been listed as questionable and has an outside shot of playing. Demarcus Cousins has extremely high usage without Gay in the lineup and that should continue to be the case tonight.

He missed the teams last game due to the birth of his son but will be available tonight when Golden State faces the Pistons. Green is always a viable option due to his ability to fill a stat sheet and faces a Pistons team that is 20th in PF DvP.

None of these three were expected to play tonight and the team has confirmed that they will indeed not be doing so. Justise Winslow will continue to eat up minutes and is a viable mid-range option going against the Pelicans.

Holmes hasn’t played since the 14th so the impact on his absence is minimal.

Houston Rockets Head Coach Mike D’Antoni stated that Harrell would start at center tonight against the Grizzlies. Despite enormous upside, it’s hard to trust Harrell in a match up against defensive wiz Marc Gasol as Memphis is first in the league in center DvP. He’s probably worth a tournament flyer or two though, especially if he’ll see 28 minutes (in which he put up a fantasy point a minute) like he did in the teams last game.

While Meeks isn’t typically a viable DFS option, he could be in play tonight at minimum salary on the two main DFS sites if Evan Fournier doesn’t play due to his injury. Keep an eye on the Fournier news heading into lock tonight.

The red-hot Fournier is dealing with a heel injury and is questionable for their game tonight against the Lakers. He’d obviously be in play if he does go – without him it’ll likely be C.J. Watson and perhaps Elfrid Payton and D.J. Augustin getting more run off of the bench.
