Al Horford (concussion) officially ruled out for tonight
Horford will not play in tonight’s game against Indiana. This will now be the sixth consecutive game that he has missed with a concussion. Kelly Olynyk and Marcus Smart will also remain in the starting lineup over Tyler Zeller and Jaylen Brown, making them interesting value options. Olynyk especially remains an elite option in all formats due to his inexpensive price tag around the industry.

Tomas Satoransky confirmed as the starter in place of John Wall (rest), as expected
Satoransky will indeed draw the start tonight against Chicago in place of the resting John Wall. This move was fairly predictable, as Satoransky started at point guard the last time Wall was rested. Unfortunately, Satoransky is no longer super cheap on sites like DraftKings, where he is up to $4.3K, which is still a difficult price tag to pay for an inconsistent player that has a low floor and a low ceiling. He could be worth a tournament dart throw, but there are better options out there for a similiar or cheaper price point.

George will be a game-time decision for tonight’s game against Boston with an apparent left ankle sprain. George did exit Friday’s game briefly with a sprained thumb, but was ultimately able to return and finish the game. It’s entirely unknown when or how this ankle issue came about, but the injury seems to be serious enough to put George’s status for Saturday’s game in question. If George is unable to go, Monta Ellis would likely reenter the starting lineup, sliding C.J. Miles over to the small forward position. This offense runs through PG13, so if he is unable to be out on the floor, there is a significant amount of extra usage that would need to be diversified among the starting unit.

Chandler is reportedly still not with the team while dealing with a personal matter, and will not play in tonight’s game against Brooklyn. Len will draw the start at center in his absence for the third consecutive game. Len will continue to be one of the best value plays on the board while his price remains low around the industry and Chandler remains inactive.

Hill will miss his third consecutive game tonight against Miami with a sprained right thumb. Dante Exum drew the start at point guard for the first time in Friday’s contest, though Shelvin Mack still ended up playing more minutes. Exum will likely start once again, but carries substantial risk with his inconsistency on the offensive end of the court. There is also a significant chance that Mack continues to eat into his playing time off the bench, while Exum remains a starter in name only.

Rubio has been listed as available to play by the Timberwolves for tonight’s game against the Clippers. Rubio missed the previous five games with a sprained right elbow and will likely displace Kris Dunn from the starting lineup. We should also expect Rubio to play near a full allotment of his usual minutes, as he was only suffering from an elbow injury and should have had no trouble remaining in game shape. However, just how effective he will be in his return from that elbow injury, remains to be seen.

Chandler reportedly participated in shoot around without suffering any setbacks with the hamstring tightness that caused him to miss the Nuggets’ previous two games. According to coach Mike Malone, he has a good chance of playing in tonight’s game against Detroit. It does remain unclear, however, if Chandler will be susceptible to a minutes restriction if he is able to make his return this evening. This is a situation to monitor obviously, but the entire Nuggets frontcourt would take a hit in fantasy value if Chandler is able to suit up for tonight’s contest.

Dragic will not play in tonight’s game against Utah after suffering an ankle sprain in the second half of Thursday’s contest. Tyler Johnson will likely draw the start at point guard in place of Dragic, as he has served as the primary backup all season. It’s also entirely possible that the combination of Josh Richardson, Dion Waiters, and Justise Winslow could share some of the ball-handling and distribution responsibilities when Johnson isn’t on the court. This is a situation to monitor for sure, but as of now, Johnson seems like a great bet to exceed value, even in slowest projected pace game of the night.
As reported by: Ira Winderman Chandler Parsons (knee) questionable for tonight, Mike Conley (hamstring) and Zach Randolph (knee) listed as probable; Tony Allen (groin) remains out
Parsons has been listed as questionable for tonight’s game against Milwaukee after suffering a minor setback with the knee issue that has kept him sidelined for most of the young season. If he is able to play, it is all but a certainty that he will remain on a strict minutes limit and can easily be avoided in all formats. Allen has already been ruled out, while Conley and Randolph are listed as probable and expected to play. If Parsons were to miss this game, Jarell Martin would likely draw the start in his place, while James Ennis would start at shooting guard in place of Allen once again. Ennis is firmly in cash game consideration despite a sub par performance his last time out. Vince Carter also turned the clock back 10 or so years in the Grizzlies previous game, posting a stat line of 20 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Carter was able to put up those numbers in 31 minutes of game action even with Parsons active. If Parsons is indeed unable to suit up, Carter becomes an elite tournament option and borderline cash viable on both major sites.

Leonard is listed as the Trail Blazers’ starting power forward for tonight’s game against Sacramento. In typical Terry Stotts fashion, this news broke a couple minutes before the games listed start time, making it nearly impossible to react on late swap sites. Noah Vonleh started for Aminu in the Blazers’ previous game, so it seems Stotts will continue to shuffle his starting lineup based on the matchup while Aminu remains sidelined. This is obviously a savvy basketball move but one that will give daily fantasy players fits on top of Stotts’ already fickle rotations.

According to Trail Blazers coach Terry Stotts, Aminu won’t have his strained left calf injury reevaluated for at least a couple more weeks. Aminu had been playing a majority of his minutes at power forward with an inconsistently wild rotation behind him. Besides Noah Vonleh and Meyers Leonard, we’ve seen Maurice Harkless receive decent amount of run at the four as well. It sure seems like the Blazers are content accounting for the loss of Aminu with a committee-like approach, as Evan Turner and Allen Crabbe will also likely see more playing time in Aminu’s absence.

This move theoretically makes Miles a stronger DFS target, but that may not actually be the case. He’s now going to be seeing the majority of his run with Jeff Teague, Paul George, Myles Turner and Thad Young, so there won’t be a ton of shots to go around. Monta Ellis – a better pure scorer than Miles – is averaging a shade under 8.0 shot attempts per game, less than half of his career average. While Miles’ minutes may rise slightly, don’t expect his usage rate to follow suit. Playing the fade on Miles in GPPs is a recommended strategy. On the flip side, Ellis actually becomes more appealing with the second-unit. He should get back to his ways as a lead ballhandler while Jeff Teague isn’t on the floor, and should inch closer to his career average in shot attempts without guys like George, Teague and Turner around to sieve looks. Ellis is a fine GPP target, especially on a site like FanDuel that requires you to roster more than one SG.

Ivica Zubac (back) doubtful for Saturday
Zubac managed to practice fully today, but remains listed as doubtful on the Lakers’ injury report for tomorrow night’s game. Zubac’s status is unlikely to affect the Lakers’ frontcourt rotation much, as Timofey Mozgov and Larry Nance have returned to game action from their respective injuries. We will provide any updates as they become available and/or the current analysis of the situation significantly changes prior to tomorrow’s game.

Jeff Green will be starting over Aaron Gordon tonight. Jeff Green is a viable option with the start because the only weakness that the Jazz have shown this season is against SFs. Still, it’s a risky GPP option only. His salary is affordable across the industry leaving upside possibility. The Magic have been playing really bad to start the season and need a boost to their lineup. Green has been playing 20 minutes and not exceeding value, making it tough for cash games. He should play 24-28 minutes tonight in a slow pace low-scoring affair.

Jonas Valanciunas returns tonight against the Hornets. He will have next to no ownership because he was expected out for most of the day. He is a GPP option only and can’t be trusted for cash games. He’s still dealing with a knee injury and could be limited to 24-26 minutes thus limiting his upside. Lucas Nogueira will be used as his main backup with Jakob Poeltl being the third string. Both Nogueira and Poeltl are not viable options tonight.
