Kristaps Porzingis is coming off a big game vs. Bulls, gets them again tonight
These back-to-back games vs. the same team are tricky to target because contrary to popular belief, there isn’t much correlation between how a particular player did the night before compared how they do on the second leg of the back-to-back. That’s not to say a guy like Kristaps Porzingis won’t have another great game tonight, it’s just saying that it’s a new game and much like DFS, anything could happen. However, we can look at trends based on these back-to-backs and we can see that Porzingis’s minutes have been on the rise this past week, and he has played at least 31 minutes (played 31 minutes last night but was in a bit of foul trouble) in four of their last five games. His price has dropped quite a bit because he had been going through a stretch where he would only see 20-25 minutes per game, but hopefully this 30+ minute trend continues tonight because his price surely hasn’t caught up to it yet. Last night vs. the Bulls the rookie busted out for 29 points and 10 rebounds to finish with 44.5 DK points. The Bulls front court is pretty banged up, Pau Gasol is listed as questionable and Porzingis would see a slight bump if he is ruled out. Porzingis is a good $2,000 cheaper than he was in the middle of the season, and while he cannot be fully trusted in cash games he makes for a great GPP option tonight even though he won’t necessarily be flying under the radar.
Luol Deng questionable for Friday
Deng is listed as questionable for tomorrow’s game with the Magic. He’ll be a middling GPP play if he’s able to go, while Justise Winslow, Amar’e Stoudemire and Udonis Haslem are all candidates to see increased court time. Winslow would be the only DFS viable play of that trio.
Ersan Ilyasova ruled out for Friday
Ilyasova will not take the court tomorrow night against the Heat. It’s a brutal spot for the Magic in general against a Miami team that plays above average defense across the board, so Ilyasova’s absence will be tough to take advantage of in terms of DFS. Aaron Gordon’s playing time becomes more secure while Andrew Nicholson is also a candidate to see increased run with the second unit. Neither player is a recommended target tomorrow, although Gordon does have some appeal on sites where his price has plummeted.

After missing last game due to illness, KCP practiced today and looks as if he will be able to play tomorrow for the Pistons when they play the Hornets. This will be a hit to the value of Stanley Johnson who is only viable when he gets sufficient minutes. If anything changes regarding KCP before tip-off tomorrow, we’ll update you as soon as we learn of it. Bullock is not a viable DFS option.

Alan Anderson misses practice; questionable for tomorrow
Alan Anderson missed practice and appears as if he will miss another game for the Wizards when they play tomorrow. He hasn’t been DFS relevant for a while, having not topped 20 minutes in quite some time. Bradley Beal and Garrett Temple will likely pick up his minutes if he sits. If anything changes regarding Anderson before tip-off tomorrow, we’ll let you know.

It wouldn’t be surprising if the Bulls decided to rest Gasol tonight after playing 25 minutes last night – he’s listed as questionable by the team. If he is unable to go, then Taj Gibson, Bobby Portis, and Nikola Mirotic should all see an uptick in minutes and the usage of Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler increases substantially. We’ll update you as soon as we hear anything more definitive on whether the Bulls big man is going to play or not.

Only Jordan Hill is listed on the injury report for the Pacers as they prepare to take on the New Orleans Pelicans and he is probable – which means everyone should be available to play in a game that has the second highest total of the night. If anything changes before tip-off, we’ll let you know as soon as we hear of it.

Andrew Bogut has been confirmed as the starter against the Clippers. Bogut is a nice contrarian option for tonight’s slate. With his toe issue causing him to be listed as questionable all day, Bogut should be less than 1% owned in the all day slate. Bogut should also be considered in the later slate. There was some confusion as to if Draymond Green was starting, but he also has been confirmed as the starter.

Moe Harkless starting at SF and Al-Farouq Aminu starting at PF on Wednesday; Noah Vonleh off the bench
Moe Harkless will start against the Mavericks on Wednesday. Harkless averaged 25.83 fantasy points on DraftKings in three starts this season, making him a viable punt option at his sub-$4k salary on both major sites. Noah Vonleh has not been playing well and Al-Farouq Aminu will start at power forward instead of him. Aminu’s salary has spiked $700 on DK since Sunday, not leaving much upside in his asking price.

D’Angelo Russell will be starting against the Suns meaning Marcelo Huertas is not a good option tonight. Russell will be extremely low-owned due to his questionable tag on the all day slate, making for a strong tournament option. Jordan Clarkson’s value takes a slight hit with Russell and Bryant in the lineup.

Jon Leuer will start for Tyson Chandler on Wednesday. Leuer should be a strong punt option against the Lakers and will likely start for the remainder of the season. The Suns are in no rush to bring Chandler back.

Darrell Arthur will make his fourth consecutive start on Wednesday. Arthur is a viable tournament target against a soft Sixers defense. With Nerlens Noel out of the lineup, look for the Nuggets frontcourt to really take advantage. JaKarr Sampson will also start against his former team but is a low-end option and better off avoided on a twelve-game slate.

Marcelo Huertas will start against the Suns if D’Angelo Russell does not play. Huertas is a viable punt option but confirm that Russell is out before rostering him. We should have an update soon regarding Russell’s status.

Kobe Bryant has been confirmed as starter against the Suns on Wednesday. Bryant is coming off a solid game but did not do much outside of scoring last night. Bryant played 30 minutes and will not likely play that much tonight. D’Angelo Russell is a game-time decision after injuring his shin against the Grizzlies. Look for an upate soon.

Allen Crabbe will be active against the Mavericks on Wednesday. Crabbe played 36 minutes against the Mavs on Sunday and had 29 DKFP. Crabbe will still remain a tournament option only coming off the bench.
