Kobe Bryant (shoulder) out on Friday
Kobe Bryant has been ruled out of Friday’s contest with the Suns. With Bryant out of the lineup, look for D’Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson to have huge performances. Clarkson is the cheaper player so he has more tournament appeal. Still, both players are appealing options in a game that the Lakers are favored at home.

Spencer Hawes and Cody Zeller questionable for Saturday
Spencer Hawes and Cody Zeller are both questionable for Saturday. If either player misses the game, Al Jefferson will be a terrific option against the Nuggets. If Zeller misses the game, expect Jefferson to start. Jefferson’s salary is still sub-$5k on DraftKings so he does have some upside left in his asking price.

There was some speculation earlier in the day that either player might sit due to this game being on the second night of a back-to-back. Both Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan will start and will likely be under-owned due to all the speculation.

Jonas Valanciunas will not play against the Celtics on Friday. Bismack Biyombo is the biggest beneficiary with Jason Thompson also getting some playing time behind him. Thompson is not a low-end DFS option on Friday.

Gordon Hayward is questionable for Saturday’s tilt with the Bulls. Joe Ingles has performed well in his two-game absence and is coming off a 35.5 DKFP night. Ingles’ stats were artificially inflated by six steals, so expect him to go back to his normal 15-23 fantasy points if Hayward misses.

The Pelicans will go with the same starting lineup for the second consecutive game. Toney Douglas will be starting but has lost some of his potential upside with his salary spiking on DK. Tim Frazier was projected as the starter earlier in the day but will come off the bench on Friday.

Quincy Acy will start for Willie Cauley-Stein against the Pistons. Acy is a minimum salaried player on both major sites and is better off avoided. Look for Cauley-Stein to return in the Kings next game on Sunday.

Several Raptors beats seemed confident that Lowry would rest for one game of this B2B set, and the fact that he played last night would seem to indicate that he has a good shot to be rested tonight. The Raptors weren’t very forthcoming on the night they rested DeRozan, so this could again be a situation where the news breaks late. If Lowry is ruled out, both DeMar DeRozan and Cory Joseph would become very solid options.

Jonas Valanciunas active but will not start; Bismack Biyombo to start
Jonas Valanciunas will not play tonight and Bismack Biyombo will be starting in his place. Biyombo will likely be a heavily owned option against the notoriously poor Celtics front-court. While we can’t expect him to score 50 fantasy points again, Biyombo could exceed value on his punt level salary.

James Johnson is out with plantar fasciitis and Norman Powell will be starting in his place. Powell’s play has been up and down this season but one thing that is consistent, he needs over 24 minutes to really make a fantasy impact. With the game expected to be tight (Toronto favored by 1) expect Terrence Ross to be in during crunch time.

Willie Cauley-Stein has been ruled out due to an illness. Quincy Acy will take his place in the starting lineup. Rajon Rondo will also start after missing one game with his recurring toe issue. Rondo will likely be under-owned making him appealing for tournaments. James Anderson, Rudy Gay, and DeMarcus Cousins round out the starting five.

Kevin Love will be starting against the Magic on Friday. Love missed shootaround so there is a chance he could be under-owned for this slate. Love is coming off a huge performance (52.55 DKFP) and has averaged 41.53 DKFP in three games against the Magic this season.

Cole will not take the floor tonight. Toney Douglas will start in his place and makes for a very nice GPP target in a game that is expected to be both close and high scoring. Tim Frazier will push him for minutes, but if Jrue Holiday is limited at all, Douglas should see plenty of court time.

Collison will draw the start for the resting Serge Ibaka, but he’s not a DFS option tonight. Enes Kanter is probably the biggest beneficiary, but he’s still not going to play many minutes alongside Steven Adams which does limit his ceiling. Kanter is best utilized as a dart-throw GPP play.

Ersan Ilyasova will return to the active roster against the Thunder on Friday. Ilyasova has really only had one good game since joining the Magic, making him a risky tournament play. While his asking price does leave room for upside, Ilyasova would need Aaron Gordon to get into foul trouble to really make an impact. Ilyasova’s return should diminish Andrew Nicholson’s value, even though he scored 31.8 DKFP on Wednesday.
