Joe Johnson has been waived by the Nets
Joe Johnson has been waived by the Nets. He’s not eligible to be claimed at this time but is set to clear waivers at 5PM on Saturday. He’ll land with a contender and should push for an important bench role wherever he ends up, but he’s unlikely to see the court nearly as much as he was in Brooklyn. As for the Nets, they’ll now count heavily on Wayne Ellington at the SG spot and will likely start either Markel Brown or Bojan Bogdanovic at the 3, although neither Brown or Bogdanovic are appealing DFS options tonight. Ellington is a solid GPP punt play while Donald Sloan is now playable in any format given his price tag.

Williams will stay in Cleveland over the weekend to get treatment on his ailing left knee, so he’ll miss the Cavs next two games against Toronto and Washington. He hasn’t been playing much of a role lately with Kyrie Irving and Matthew Dellavedova both healthy, so this news doesn’t have any real DFS relevance. Dellavedova will eat up any available minutes at PG behind Irving.

Mavericks Head Coach Rick Carlisle stated that Deron Williams, despite a dislocated finger, has vowed to play in the teams game on Friday. He left the team’s last game but was able to return and finish so it appears the injury will not hamper him too much. We’ll update his status if anything changes tomorrow.
As reported by: Earl Sneed on TwitterArron Afflalo expected to play Friday
Afflalo left the Knicks last game with a bruised thigh but Head Coach Kurt Rambis expects him to play in their game on Friday. We’ll update his status tomorrow when we learn more – if he can’t go, Langston Galloway would garner additional minutes.
As reported by: Jonah Ballow on TwitterAlex Len will play today
Len had been listed as questionable after tweaking an ankle injury in practice yesterday but he’s been upgraded and will play tonight against the Brooklyn Nets. It’s a good match up for Len as the Nets are 21st in DvP against centers. At just $4,900 on FanDuel and $5,000 on DraftKings, Len is in play as a value option at the center position. He’s put up 29+ DraftKings fantasy points in 4 of his last 6 games. That said, Tyson Chandler is expected to play so his minutes could be cut some from what he’s been playing recently so he’s a GPP option only.
As reported by: Paul Coro on TwitterWashington Wizards sign J.J. Hickson
It took a while for Hickson to find a home after being released by the Nuggets but the Wizards have called the veterans name to help give them some front court depth. With Markieff Morris, Marcin Gortat, and Nene Hilario already in the fold he doesn’t hold much DFS value but could be worth keeping an eye on if someone goes down due to injury.
As reported by: Jorge Castillo on TwitterVictor Oladipo a game-time decision for tonight's game
Magic Head Coach Scott Skiles stated that Oladipo, who missed practice yesterday and did not participate in shootaround this morning, is 50/50 to play tonight due to his injured quad (bruise). The Magic are hosting the Golden State Warriors in a game that has a high total and should be full of fantasy goodness. Oladipo is a decent mid-range option at SG if he can go but if not look for Evan Fournier to be a top play as he’ll get all the minutes he can handle (as he has been of late) and it’ll also likely mean more minutes for the PG duo of Elfrid Payton and Brandon Jennings who would both be intriguing value options. We’ll update you on Oladipo’s status when we learn more.
As reported by: Joshua Robbins on Twitter Other tagged players: Elfrid Payton, Brandon Jennings, Evan FournierKawhi Leonard (calf) will be playing on Wednesday
Kawhi Leonard will be playing tonight and will likely resume his starting position. Leonard will be on a minutes restriction with the Spurs playing again tomorrow. Leonard availability hurts the upside of Danny Green and Tony Parker. Leonard will be an under-owned player but his upside is limited tonight.
As reported by: Jeff McDonaldRajon Rondo and Ben McLemore confirmed as starting tonight
Both Rondo and McLemore were probable coming into the game and now have been confirmed as the starters. Ben McLemore should be avoided in all DFS formats. While Rondo is a viable target and will be low-owned coming off his dud last night. Rondo is a tournament option only.
As reported by: James Ham Other tagged players: Ben McLemorePau Gasol will play tonight
Pau Gasol will play tonight against the Wizards. This makes both Bobby Portis and Taj Gibson much riskier targets, while Gasol himself is a very solid GPP target on late-swap sites with Derrick Rose out. E’Twaun Moore is now squarely in play for GPPs with Aaron Brooks also a viable option near minimum price.
As reported by: Chris Kuc Other tagged players: E'Twaun MooreDerrick Rose has been ruled out for tonight
Derrick Rose was a late scratch due to a hamstring injury. Aaron Brooks and E’Twuan Moore will benefit the most from this news. The Bulls traded away Kirk Hinrich so they really don’t have much depth at PG. Moore should be considered a borderline elite option with Brooks solely a GPP play.
As reported by: Jorge Castillo Other tagged players: E'Twaun Moore, Aaron BrooksAlan Anderson active for tonight
Alan Anderson is on the active roster tonight. Still, Anderson is not worth a DFS play tonight on a ten game slate. Bradley Beal will likely see over 28 minutes tonight.
As reported by: Jorge Castillo Other tagged players: Bradley BealJustise Winslow starting tonight, Gerald Green to the bench
Justise Winslow will be starting tonight against the Warriors. Winslow is coming off a night where he played 40 minutes and had 37.75 fantasy points. While the game did go into overtime, it shows that Winslow’s minutes are secure and he could play over 28 minutes tonight. Winslow will be an under-owned option with most people chasing Deng’s three consecutive good games. Deng is still a viable fantasy option, he just has the tougher matchup against Draymond Green. Deng does not have a lot of upside with his salary at $6,100 on DK.
As reported by: Miami Heat Other tagged players: Gerald Green, Luol DengGary Neal ruled out for tonight
Gary Neal will not play tonight against the Bulls. He’s been practicing of late and has been questionable the past two nights, so a return doesn’t seem far off. There aren’t any real DFS beneficiaries in regards to this news.
As reported by: J. Michael on TwitterLaMarcus Aldridge is an interesting GPP option tonight
LaMarcus Aldridge has really started to come into his own for the Spurs after a little rough patch to start the season. At only $7,000 on DK, Aldridge has flashed 50-point upside that would be huge in GPPs. The Spurs take on the Kings in what should be a pretty lopsided game, but the Kings do play with one of the fastest paces in the league and own one of the worst defenses in the NBA. They are second to last in terms of defensive efficiency against opposing PFs and Aldridge really is in a great spot tonight. He really isn’t safe enough to be considered for cash games quite yet because he does have the potential to put up a DK total in the teens, but as a GPP upside play this could make a lot of sense.
