Bryce Dejean-Jones (wrist) probable for Thursday; Omer Asik ruled out
Bryce Dejean-Jones is probable with a wrist injury but is a low-end DFS option for Thursday. Even with only six games on the slate, there are a bunch of good shooting guards to choose from outside of BDJ. Omer Asik will miss another game with his badly sprained ankle, which will likely open the door for another start from Alexis Ajinca. Ajinca was not able to exceed value last night and Ryan Anderson is a better play due to Asik’s injury.

Pau Gasol (illness) now a game-time decision
Pau Gasol is dealing with an illness and looks “run down” according to Fred Hoiberg, so it’s definitely possible that he sits tonight. If that happens, Bobby Portis becomes an elite punt play in any format while Derrick Rose and Taj Gibson will also see upticks in value. All three would become elite plays without Gasol (Rose is an elite option regardless).

Andre Drummond is a great play tonight at the cheapest he’s been all year on DraftKings
Andre Drummond’s price continues to slowly decrease, mainly because he only hits 5x value about half of the time, but when he hits value he really crushes it. This inconsistency has led to his lowest price of the year on DK and tonight is the perfect night to take advantage of it. Although he struggles to reach 5x value some nights, according to RotoGrinders consistency stats (https://rotogrinders.com/game-stats/nba/consistency?site=draftkings&range=season), Drummond has hit 4x value of his $8,000 price on DK 84% of the time this season. That means he has at least 32 DK points in 84% of the games he has played in this season giving him a very high floor at this price. He gets a great matchup vs. the Sixers where really all of the Pistons starters are in play because of the matchup. In his two match ups with the Sixers this year Drummond is averaging 52.5 DK points per game. Take advantage of the combination of pricing and matchup tonight with Drummond especially on DK.
Tayshaun Prince starting for Zach LaVine tonight
Tayshaun Prince will be starting for Zach LaVine tonight and is still not a DFS option. Prince will likely play limited minutes but his presence does make LaVine a very risky option tonight. With ten games on the slate, LaVine does not have the huge upside we’re looking for. LaVine will likely still play over 25 minutes but with Kevin Martin also back in the rotation, LaVine is too risky.

D-Wade really looked bad in his first game back since the All Star Break vs. the Pacers on Monday, but he was able to play 39 minutes as well as put up 21 shots which is really encouraging. He did go 4-21, but if even a few more of those shots fell he would’ve hit value. Tonight he gets a matchup with the Warriors which will be extremely fast-paced for the Heat, and the Warriors have ranked 28th in DvP vs. opposing SGs over the last three weeks. Klay Thompson is probably the worst defender out of the starting lineup for the Warriors, and Wade will need to have a big game tonight for the Heat to stay in this one. Wade’s usage also sky-rockets when Chris Bosh is out of the lineup (he is out again tonight). He jumps from a 30.7 usage rate to 36.5 without Bosh. That usage rate is really just insane, considering Russell Westbrook has the highest usage rate in the league right now at 33.5, three whole percent less than Wade without Bosh. Hopefully the ownership is a little low tonight because of his last outing, but Wade makes for a great option tonight vs. the Warriors.
T.J. McConnell (ankle) ruled out for Wednesday
T.J. McConnell injured his ankle last night and has been ruled out for tonight’s contest. Isaiah Canaan will see some extra minutes due to McConnell’s absence and does have some upside available with his $3,800 DK salary. Canaan is strictly a tournament play and should be able to secure about 20 minutes tonight.

Alan Anderson has not played this season but is questionable for tonight’s contest against the Bulls. Gary Neal was a late scratch for yesterday game and is also questionable tonight. Both players are not DFS options and should not be considered even if they are active.

Miles will miss tonight’s game with the Knicks. This doesn’t have much DFS relevance, but Monta Ellis may see an extra handful of minutes while backup wings Solomon Hill and Chase Budinger should combine for somewhere around 20 minutes. The Pacers could opt to play big against the Knicks, who have two seven-footers in the starting lineup. If that happens, Jordan Hill gets a slight bump while Ian Mahinmi’s minutes become more secure.

Chris Copeland was waived by the Bucks and acquired by the Magic. John Jenkins was waived by the Mavs and has signed a contract with the Suns. Jenkins might make an impact later in the season but for tomorrow, he should not be considered.

Tony Allen has now been upgraded for tonight’s game against the Lakers. Tony Allen is mostly a defensive player and merits very little DFS consideration. If Allen does play, it could hinder the prospects of Matt Barnes and Vince Carter. With the Grizzlies playing after lineups lock, it will be tough to recommend Barnes or Carter until we get an update.

Rajon Rondo and Ben McLemore are both probable for tonight’s game with the Spurs. Rondo has been dealing with turf toe recently but hasn’t been hampered in terms of playing time. The match-up with the Spurs (on the back-end of a B2B) is certainly not a good spot, so Rondo is at best a GPP target tonight. He does have some contrarian upside and stacking him with Cousins will give you exposure to the Kings best two playmakers at a very low ownership percentage. Ben McLemore (along with the other Sacramento SG options) is not a DFS option.

Len is questionable for Thursday’s game with the Nets after re-spraining his ankle in today’s practice. It’s not clear how serious the sprain is, but Len’s status for tomorrow is very up in the air. Tyson Chandler is set to return tomorrow which may allow the Suns to play it safe with Len; we should know more about his status after tomorrow’s shootaround. If Len does indeed sit tomorrow, Tyson Chandler would become a very solid punt play at center, particularly on sites that allow you to roster two. The Suns will need to contend with Brook Lopez who has been playing huge minutes of late.

Tyson Chandler will play Thursday against the Nets. He’s missed the Suns past two games after playing just 8 minutes against the Rockets this past Friday, but it doesn’t look like he should be limited at all on Thursday. With Alex Len questionable after spraining his ankle in practice today, Chandler may be called on to play a big role against Brook Lopez and the Nets. The Suns lack any real low-post defense outside of Chandler and Len, so look for Chandler to see upwards of 30 minutes if he’s the only healthy center on the roster tomorrow.

C.J. Miles is questionable for tonight’s game with the Knicks. If he’s unable to go, Monta Ellis would get a slight bump in value while Glenn Robinson III, Joe Young and/or Chase Budinger will pick up a handful of extra minutes off the bench. Miles isn’t a DFS option even if he plays.

After having missed nearly a month due to injury, Jameer Nelson is probable to play for the Nuggets tonight when they take on the Los Angeles Clippers. He’ll not be a DFS option tonight and his return diminishes the value of Emmanuel Mudiay, especially considering the fact that they are taking on the Chris Paul led Clippers who are 4th in the league in terms of PG DvP. If anything changes regarding Nelson, we’ll update you here.
