Matt Barnes

Golden State Warriors

Matt Barnes (hamstring) expected to play on Friday

Matt Barnes will play on Friday against the Knicks. He’s not a recommended DFS option with the Grizzlies healthy at the wing/PF spots, but he’ll have a little added incentive with Derek Fisher coaching on the other side. With Jeff Green hot and Tony Allen likely being tasked with tracking Arron Afflalo, Barnes may not see upwards of 25 minutes tonight.

Jae Crowder (ankle) expected to start on Friday

Jae Crowder is expected to be in the lineup on Friday even though he is dealing with an ankle and shin injury. Crowder could be limited but should still see his full allotment of minutes. With the Celtics facing the Cavs, Crowder will be needed to help slow down LeBron James. Crowder is a tournament option only and will likely be under-owned on such a large slate.

Otto Porter Jr.

Utah Jazz
2/05/16, 6:59 PM ET

Otto Porter is a contrarian option at his discounted price

Otto Porter had been out for a couple weeks with a hip injury, and in his first two games back he played 30 and 36 minutes. Then he proceeded to ride the bench and only received 19 minutes a game for the next three. Then last game vs. the Warriors Porter finally saw his full load of minutes again at 32 minutes. Because of all of this his price has dropped quite a bit and he now sits at $5,600 on DraftKings and $5,300 on FanDuel. This is about the cheapest we have seen him all season and he gets a great matchup tonight vs. the Sixers. Further strengthening Porter’s case is Nene has been ruled out for tonight’s game, likely lending Porter at least a few more minutes in the rotation. He is in store for a bounce back game tonight and while it is a little risky, he is a great option to reach value tonight in a great matchup.

Austin Rivers

Minnesota Timberwolves
2/05/16, 7:11 PM ET

Austin Rivers (hand) GTD on Friday

Austin Rivers is a game-time decision on Friday after hurting his hand on Wednesday. Rivers absence would open more minutes for Jamal Crawford and he makes for a solid option tonight against the Magic. Crawford is coming off back-to-back 30 FPs nights and makes for a solid option under $5k.

Dewayne Dedmon (foot) active on Friday

Dewayne Dedmon is active and will backup Nikola Vucevic on Friday. Dedmon isn’t a DFS option as long as Vucevic is healthy.

Langston Galloway

Indiana Pacers
2/05/16, 7:12 PM ET

Langston Galloway starting for Carmelo Anthony, Arron Afflalo starting at SF

Carmelo Anthony has been ruled out on Friday. The Knicks are in a tough spot against a strong defensive team in the Grizzlies, and they’ll now have to count on Arron Afflalo, Kristaps Porzingis and Derrick Williams to take on the scoring load with Melo (and Lance Thomas) inactive. Afflalo is the strongest point per dollar play of this group, with Langston Galloway (who will start for Melo, moving Afflalo to SF) being close behind. Porzingis is in play for GPPs, but his erratic playing time/production makes it tough to count on him in a tough matchup. Derrick Williams is also a GPP-only selection.

Lance Thomas

Lance Thomas (concussion) out on Friday

Lance Thomas has been ruled out Friday and is unlikely to play over the weekend. Langston Galloway will start at SG, pushing Arron Afflalo to SF. Both are in play for GPPs, with Afflalo being cash game viable even in a tough draw with the Memphis wings. Derrick Williams’ value also rises with both Melo and Thomas out of action.

Emmanuel Mudiay

Sacramento Kings
2/05/16, 6:45 PM ET

Emmanuel Mudiay is an option if you want to spend down at PG

Jameer Nelson has been ruled out yet again tonight, so that essentially locks in Mudiay for 30+ minutes vs. the Bulls. Mudiay is included in our brand new “Starting Five” feature article (make sure to go check it out!) but he is a great option tonight because of his price and minutes. There will be a lot of people spending up at PG on the likes of John Wall and Chris Paul, but if you want to spend down at PG so you can pay up for someone else (maybe a couple higher-priced PFs) then Mudiay is a great option. The Bulls are 25th in DvP vs. opposing PGs, and Mudiay has actually been surprisingly consistent given his discounted price when Nelson is out. It is only a one point spread tonight so it should be a good game, and Mudiay offers a great, relatively cheap option at PG that you can count on for 30+ minutes.

Terrence Jones

Houston Rockets
2/05/16, 7:05 PM ET

Terrence Jones (concussion) out on Saturday

Terrence Jones has been ruled out for Saturday’s game due to suffering a concussion in a car accident on Thursday. It’s unclear how much (if any) time Jones will miss beyond Saturday, but we’ll update his status as more information becomes available. Clint Capela and Josh Smith will eat up most of the minutes at PF with Jones out.

Goran Dragic

Milwaukee Bucks
2/05/16, 7:02 PM ET

Goran Dragic (illness) expected to start on Friday

Goran Dragic is expected to start on Friday against the Hornets. Dragic is a tournament option only tonight and a risky one at that. With Hassan Whiteside back in the lineup, Dragic will likely look for his big man more than his shot. Dragic still has upside in him, yet has not scored over 30FPs since early January in a game against the Suns.

Walter Tavares

Cleveland Cavaliers
2/05/16, 7:03 PM ET

Walter Tavares to be active tonight

Tavares figures to backup Al Horford with Tiago Splitter out. Still, Tavares isn’t a DFS option with Horford and Millsap in action.

Kemba Walker

Dallas Mavericks
2/05/16, 7:01 PM ET

Kemba Walker (knee) to start on Friday

Kemba Walker will start on Friday and isn’t expected to be limited at all. This isn’t a good spot for Walker (Miami has been in the top 5 against PGs for the majority of the season) and with his price spiking along with his performance when the Hornets were shorthanded, he’s a recommended fade tonight. The Hornets as a whole are a good team to avoid now that they’re nearly back to full strength.

Tyreke Evans

Indiana Pacers
2/05/16, 6:42 PM ET

Tyreke Evans (knee) ruled out for Saturday

The Pelicans have ruled out Tyreke Evans from Saturday’s contest against the Cavs. Bryce Dejean-Jones will get the start in his place and makes for decent punt option. Dejean-Jones salary jumped again after his 33.75 FPs showing against the Lakers but is still a viable option under $5k.

Nene Hilario

Atlanta Hawks
2/05/16, 6:36 PM ET

Nene (calf) out on Friday

Nene has been ruled out on Friday due to a calf injury which likely means that Drew Gooden will be the first big man off the bench. Jared Dudley has started the last three games but has seen his production decline along with his minutes. Dudley does posses 30 FPs upside but it is reliant upon his shot, making Dudley a tournament option only. Look for DeJuan Blair to also pick up some minutes tonight against the big frontcourt of the Sixers.
