Darrell Arthur likely to start for Faried on Friday; Emmanuel Mudiay doubtful to play
Despite a tough matchup with Memphis, Darrell Arthur is a very solid GPP punt play. He’s been very good in games that Faried has missed, although Jusuf Nurkic wasn’t around then and his presence does add some risk to rostering Arthur. Emmanuel Mudiay is unlikely to play tonight which likely leads to Jameer Nelson seeing upwards of 30 minutes with Will Barton and Randy Foye also getting slight bumps.
As reported by: Chris Dempsey on Twitter Other tagged players: Emmanuel MudiayHassan Whiteside probable to play tonight
The Heat big man is battling with a sore knee and tendinitis but plans to play through it as the team takes on the Phoenix Suns. Despite the Suns being 22nd in the league in fantasy points allowed, they have played the center position tough as they rank 6th in DvP there. On a slate filled with other options and knowing Whiteside is hurting, it’s best to avoid him tonight.
As reported by: Ira Winderman on TwitterKenneth Faried OUT for tonight's game
The Nuggets have announced that Faried will miss today’s game against the Grizzlies for personal reasons. Darrell Arthur will likely get the start and becomes a great value option as he’s just $3,700 on FanDuel and $3,900 on DraftKings. It is, however, a tough match up as the Grizzlies have been much improved defensively of late and are 10th in terms of fantasy points allowed per game on the season.
As reported by: Harrison Wind on TwitterJerryd Bayless out for tonight's game
Bayless is still battling an ankle injury and has been ruled out for the Bucks game tonight against the Mavericks. Michael Carter-Williams will continue to log heavy minutes against a Mavs team that is 17th in PG DvP. Despite an increase in price that has seen MCW’s price go to $7,000 on DraftKings and $7,100 on FanDuel, he’s still an option in GPP’s tonight. Carter-Williams has put up over 41 DraftKings fantasy points in 5 of his last 9 games.
As reported by: Aron Yohannes on TwitterMike Conley and Courtney Lee doubtful for tonight's game
Conley is dealing with an injured Achilles that forced him to miss the Grizzlies last game and Lee suffered a hip injury that has him looking as if he will not play today. Both missed shootaround this morning and are considered doubtful. Mario Chalmers would become an elite play at the PG position if these two don’t play as evidenced by the monster game he put up last game when those two were unavailable. He’ll also likely be one of the highest owned players of the slate given the early news so take that into consideration when building your rosters.
As reported by: Ronald Tillery on TwitterKris Humphries doubtful for tonight
The Wizards forward didn’t participate in shootaround and is likely out for their game tonight against the Toronto Raptors. Humphries would not have had a DFS impact if he did play as he’s only topped 20 Fan Duel fantasy points once in his last 19 games.
As reported by: J. Michael on TwitterMo Williams will play tonight
The Cavaliers backup PG stated that he has a partially torn ligament in his right thumb that will not require surgery. He added that he’ll play tonight. He hasn’t been a viable DFS option since Kyrie Irving returned as his minutes have drastically dropped and he appears to be behind Matthew Dellavedova in the rotation.
As reported by: Chris Haynes on TwitterElfrid Payton doubtful for tonight's game
Magic Head Coach Scott Skiles stated it was extremely unlikely that Payton will play tonight in their game against the Brooklyn Nets. This means more Victor Oladipo at the point going against a team that is 27th in PG DvP. Oladipo was very high owned across the industry his last game out and while his price soared $800 on DraftKings, it only went up $300 on FanDuel. His ownership should drop due to the price hike but he’s very much in play given his SG eligibility. We’ll update you on Payton’s status later today when we learn the official word.
As reported by: Josh Robbins on TwitterKobe Bryant (shoulder) starting tonight
Kobe Bryant will play tonight as expected and should be considered an elite option against the Kings. Bryant has rested his sore shoulder and should be up to the challenge tonight. Bryant’s return hurts Jordan Clarkson’s value a little bit but against the Kings, everyone should be able to have a good game.
As reported by: Jason JonesD'Angelo Russell to play off the bench tonight
D’Angelo Russell will return tonight but will come off the bench. Russell is a GPP only option tonight and could play a lot in garbage time. Russell has a chance to exceed value in a fast paced game.
As reported by: Mike TrudellRajon Rondo (back) starting tonight, Ben McLemore to play as well
Rajon Rondo will rejoin the Kings tonight against the Lakers. Rondo is an elite option tonight and should be able to keep his hot play going. Rondo was listed as probable coming into the game so he is not going to be under-owned. Ben McLemore has been suffering with back spasms but will give it a go tonight. McLemore is not a DFS option and has been playing poorly.
As reported by: Jason JonesTerrence Jones starting for Dwight Howard
Terrence Jones will be starting in place of Dwight Howard but Clint Capela will be the official C. Jones moves over to PF and will match up with Trey Lyles. Jones has a really good chance of exceeding value tonight at home. The Jazz played last night in San Antonio, giving the advantage to the Rockets tonight. Jones is only $4,000 on DraftKings making him an elite punt option and a great late-swap move tonight.
As reported by: Jonathan Feigen Other tagged players: Clint Capela, Dwight HowardRudy Gobert (knee) available to play on Thursday with a minutes restriction; will not start
Rudy Gobert is on the active roster tonight but will be limited if he does play. Jeff Withey will continue to start and should be able to play about 28 minutes tonight. Withey is still a good option tonight but his salary has risen considerably. Withey should be considered a GPP only option tonight. With Gobert likely to start in the next game this marks the top of Withey’s value.
As reported by: Aaron Falk Other tagged players: Jeff WitheyDwight Howard not playing tonight
Dwight Howard was ruled out during warmups with a sore back. Howard was questionable all day, so he was a risky play for anyone’s roster. Clint Capela will likely start in his place and Terrence Jones should also pick up extended minutes. Both players are good DFS options against the Jazz tonight. Montrezl Harrell will also see some run tonight and is basically a rebounding specialist due to his lacking scoring prowess.
As reported by: David Locke Other tagged players: Terrence Jones, Clint Capela, Montrezl HarrellMike Conley and Courtney Lee doubtful on Friday
Mike Conley is doubtful with his Achilles injury, which means that Mario Chalmers would once again be an elite punt option against the Nuggets. Chalmers is coming off a 52 FPs night on DraftKings against the Thunder, and with the Nuggets not being a strong defensive team, Chalmers will likely be a chalky play. Courtney Lee is doubtful after he was forced to exit early with a hip injury and Tony Allen will likely start in his place.
