Drew Gooden will return to the Wizards lineup after missing 21 games. He should get some burn tonight but is on a minutes restriction. He should be avoided until the minutes restriction is up, but his return does hurt the value of Kris Humphries, so avoid him too.

Spencer Hawes out tonight
Spencer Hawes will miss another game with his back injury. His absence opens the door for rookie Frank Kaminsky to continue his strong play. With Al Jefferson ruled out for 6 weeks, Frank the Tank should be in DFS lineups until his price rises significantly. Cody Zeller is also a good option in a starting role, and he has consistently been producing 28 FPs nights on DK.

The Hornets have listed Nicolas Batum as the starter tonight against the Raptors. He is dealing with a toe injury but played well in his last outing. Batum likely will have a tougher time tonight against the defense of DeMarre Carroll and DeMar Derozan. His elevated salary makes for a risky play, but he will likely be under-owned and can help take a GPP if he plays well.

Derrick Rose is not expected to play tonight against the Knicks. Kirk Hinrich will likely start in his place, but Aaron Brooks will be the Chicago PG to target in GPPs if you’re choosing between them. Brooks carries plenty of risk but has an a nice ceiling when Rose sits. Jimmy Butler also garners more of the offensive attention with Rose out, so he’s now a core play and was already a strong option with Rose on the floor. Butler and Pau Gasol are the two elite targets on the Chicago side.

Deron Williams plans to play tonight vs Miami
The Mavs will likely have Deron Williams back in the lineup after missing 4 games with a hamstring injury. Williams is not in a good matchup against the Heat and should be avoided tonight with better option available. Williams return likely also ruins J.J. Barea’s hot run and he should be avoided as well until his salary comes back down.

Justise Winslow has missed the previous two games with an ankle injury but looks to be healed enough to give it a go tonight. Winslow’s return cuts in Gerald Green’s minutes making him a player to defintely avoid tonight in Washingston. Winslow is a boom-or-bust option in his return and will likely receive about 20 minutes. If Winslow can rebound the ball well he should boost his value. Winslow only had 1 double digit scoring night in December, so his ceiling is pretty low.

The Nuggets have listed all three players on the injury report but they are likely to play on Saturday. If Gallinari misses the game expect Will Barton to continue carrying the scoring load. If Jokic misses and Nurkic makes his return, Joffrey Lauvergne would make for a great DFS option with extended minutes.

Harrison Barnes has missed the entire month of December with the ankle injury but should be near returning. He is currently listed as doubtful so his next opportunity to play is on Monday against the Hornets. Barbosa has missed the last 4 games, and his absence has led to an increased opportunity for Ian Clark. Play Ian Clark if you need a super low salary to plug in on Saturday.

Steph Curry is still suffering from his leg injuries and has been listed as doubtful for Saturday’s contest against the Nuggets. The Warriors likely do not want to rush him back against an inferior opponent so be prepared for other options. Klay Thompson and Draymond Green dominated against the Rockets, so look for them to continue their strong play. Shaun Livingston and Andre Iguodala also played well and should be considered against the Nuggets. Ian Clark is still the cheapest option on the Warriors and will also likely outperform his near minimum salary.

The Lakers have ruled out Kobe Bryant tonight with a sore shoulder. The absence comes against a Sixers team that the Lakers have already lost to. Bryant shot under 30% in his last two outings, which was likely caused by the aching shoulder that was seen wrapped up in Boston. In his last absence, Byron Scott started Anthony Brown and he played 27 minutes, yet still was not a DFS option that night. If Brown starts again, he would be an extremely risky play tonight. Lou Williams will likely lead the lakers in shot attempts and points, with Jordan Clarkson also carrying the scoring load. Look for D’Angelo Russell to play a key role off the bench in this game and should definitely be considered in GPP’s. Nick Young, who is only a scorer would likely stay in if he played well in his minutes against his former team.

Danilo Gallinari has missed 6 games with an ankle injury but looks to return to the lineup against the Warriors on Saturday. Gallinari will be expected to carry the scoring load in what should be a high-scoring affair. Before going down with his injury, Gallinari was putting up 17 PPG in December. In addition to the scoring, he was averaging 4.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists to bolster his fantasy value. Gallinari’s price was not discounted in the games that he missed likely making him a sleeper on day where 11 games are being played. Jusuf Nurkic will be making his season debut and will be on a minutes restriction. Wait for Nurkic to make some progress and for the rotation to be a little more settled before plugging him into your lineup.

The Cavaliers will be at full strength Saturday against the Magic, meaning that there isn’t any doubt about whether or not Kyrie Irving will suit up. He’s still not a real DFS option playing limited minutes, and his presence does cut slightly into the workloads of LeBron James and Kevin Love, and also makes Matthew Dellavedova unplayable. With that said, James and Love are still very strong targets tomorrow at home against the Magic, with a blowout being the only real concern for their outlook.

Hollis Thompson will not play tonight and is unlikely to play tomorrow. His absence will open up time for a variety of different Philly wing players, but Robert Covington is the most notable from a DFS perspective. He’s able to fill up the stat sheet when he plays big minutes and could be a sneaky GPP target tonight. Jakarr Sampson and Nik Stauskas are also candidates to see increased run, but neither of them are viable DFS plays.

Gary Neal will not play tonight against the Magic. He’s now missed 4 of the Wizards’ past 5 games and it’s possible he ends up missing time beyond tonight. Garrett Temple will continue to see 30+ minutes as a starter with Bradley Beal also out, so he remains a viable punt play, especially on sites that have him listed as a SG. John Wall continues to be an elite play with Beal out, and Marcin Gortat is also benefiting from a thin Washington front-court.

The Hornets have announced that Jeremy Lin is out for their game against the Toronto Raptors. Bump up Kemba Walker’s minutes as the starter and expect more from Jeremy Lamb off the bench. Lamb had 28 FanDuel points in just 22.5 minutes his last game out and is worth consideration as a value play. Toronto, however, is an elite defense against PG’s as they rank second in DvP at the position, so keep that in mind before rostering any Hornets PG’s.
