Trevor Ariza doubtful for tonight's game
After bruising his lower back in last night’s game, Trevor Ariza is unlikely to play in tonight’s game against the Wizards. Marcus Thornton stepped up big time in his absence last night with 52 fpts on DraftKings and is the expected beneficiary if Ariza does not play. Corey Brewer is the other play on the Rockets who should see a bump in playing time. Brewer, when he gets 20+ minutes is a viable DFS punt play and he should reach that tonight in a game that has the highest total. It’s a great match up for both as the Wizards are 30th (dead last) in SF DvP.

Kendall Marshall and Tony Wroten availability updates
Tony Wroten will play tomorrow with a 16 minute limit and will sit out Friday’s game. Kendall Marshall will sit out tomorrow and play Friday with the same 16 minute limit. Neither are viable DFS options at this point.

After missing the past seven games, Splitter will return to the Atlanta Hawks rotation tonight in their game against the Dallas Mavericks. Splitter is not a viable DFS commodity as he is averaging only 16 minutes per game in his last seven games. While he is minimum price and it won’t take much for him to hit five times value, it’s not a chance worth taking coming off a prolonged absence and against a Mavericks team that is 7th in terms of DvP versus centers.

The Spurs star forward took fluids and is expected to play today against the Raptors after missing the teams last game. The Raptors are #7 in SF DvP but that’s mostly with Demare Carroll starting. While Leonard is usually an elite play, Head Coach Greg Popovich did state that he expected it might take a bit for Leonard to find his rhythm. Knowing how Popovich can be with his players, it’s best to probably tread lightly in your usage of Leonard tonight. He’s best avoided in cash games and should be minimally used in GPP’s.

Heat Head Coach Erik Spoelstra stated that he expects Luol Deng to play tonight against the Charlotte Hornets who are ranked 11th overall in SF DvP. It’ll be a tough match up against the likes of Nicolas Batum and coming off a prolonged absence, it’s best to take the wait and see approach for now with Deng. This will also be a hit on the minutes of Justise Winslow and Gerald Green, who for the purposes of DFS are not viable options in tonight’s slate.

As expected, the Wizards big man has rejoined the team and took part in this mornings shootaround. He is expected to take the court tonight against the Houston Rockets in a game that has the highest total of the night. While Dwight Howard at times can be a problem to deal with, the Rockets are 21st in DvP against centers and Gortat’s mid-range price tag puts him in play in all formats. He has put up over 33 DraftKings fpts in five of his last six games, a number that is nearly six times his $5,800 salary there.

The Kings will go with the same starters for their third consecutive game. Rondo and McLemore will start in the backcourt with Casspi, Gay, and Cousins in the frontcourt. Gay likely has a chance to really shine tonight with Trey Lyles likely starting for the Jazz. Kosta Koufos will be the backup big man for the Kings if they have to matchup with Utah’s size.

J.J. Hickson starting, Joffrey Lauvergne available to play
Joffery Lauvergne had been ill all day and even missed shootaround. That led to the Nuggets to start J.J. Hickson in his place. Hickson makes for a good late-swap option against the Magic, but will be undersized against Nikola Vucevic. Hickson could be in line for over 25 minutes tonight.

Aaron Gordon was questionable all day and was officially ruled out with his ankle injury. Andrew Nicholson will likely start in his place and makes for a great punt option against the Nuggets. Nicholson has averaged 21.68 FPs over his last three games and could be in line for extended minutes tonight. Nikola Vucevic will also get a bump with Gordon out.

Joffery Lauvergne will try to play tonight after missing shootaround earlier with an illness. He is likely starting if he is playing. If he is pulled at the last second J.J. Hickson is more than likely to start in his place. Lauvergne will be matched up against Nikola Vucevic of the Magic.

Dwight Howard returns to the lineup tonight after missing one game due to rest. Terrance Jones goes back to the bench with Clint Capela starting at PF. Dwight Howard makes for a strong play against Nets tonight. Expect him to play near 35 minutes because he will be needed tonight to guard Brook Lopez

Danilo Gallinari will be playing tonight even though he is suffering from a knee injury. He may not be as effective and could lead to some increased run from Will Barton. Gallinari is coming off a 24 point outing against the Sixers and will be playing against the Magic at home.

Kevin Love had been battling an illness all day but has been probable. Love is in the starting lineup and will be facing the weak defending frontcourt of Portland. Love should be able to school Noah Vonleh forcing Meyer Leonard and Ed Davis into the game pretty quickly. Kevin Love plays in the first game of the night so there is no chance to late swap.
Bojan Bogdanovic starting again on Tuesday
Bogdanovic will remain in the starting lineup for the injured Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. He’ll start alongside Jarrett Jack, Joe Johnson, Thaddeus Young and Brook Lopez. Bogdanovic is a potential punt play given the lack of value available on tonight’s slate, although his floor is still pretty low given that he’s not locked into big minutes as a starter. Shane Larkin will also eat into his time when the Nets choose to go smaller.

Andrew Bogut starting again tonight
Andrew Bogut will make his second consecutive after missing one game last week. Bogut has been averaging around 20 minutes this season and is not a great DFS target. Bogut may get some extra run tonight in what should be a close game with the Pacers. Draymond Green is the better target than Bogut going against a weak Indiana front line. Festus Ezeli can also cut into Bogut’s playing time if he is playing well.
