J.J. Redick playing Friday, Paul Pierce out
J.J. Redick will be back in the starting lineup after missing 4 games with a back injury. He should be an elite option against the weak defense of C.J. McCollum. Redick is only $4,400 on DraftKings and could make for an under-owned elite starting option tonight. The Clippers will need Redick to carry them tonight in Portland after they battled last night in Los Angeles. Paul Pierce has also been ruled but his replacement has not been named.

Nikola Jokic starting Friday
The Nuggets are starting Nikola Jokic tonight and he should help keep the Nuggets from getting blown out like they did in their last game against the Suns. Nuggets coach Mike Malone said that Jokic will run a lot tonight because he can handle the workload. Jokic is an elite punt option at $3,500 coming off a 50 FPs night.

Dion Waiters will join the starting lineup which moves Anthony Morrow to the bench. Dion Waiters will likely get a lot of minutes and is a known to always look for his shot. Waiters can catch fire but is a risky late-swap option. The Thunder face the Knicks Friday night.

JaMychal Green will be starting for the injured Zach Randolph and makes for an elite late-swap option. Brandon Wright has also been ruled out for this game. This will be JaMychal Green’s first start of the season so look for the extra shots to go to Marc Gasol, Mike Conley, and Jeff Green.

Zach Randolph has been ruled out with a knee injury on Friday. JaMychal Green will be taking his place in the starting lineup and makes for an elite punt option. Marc Gasol will get most of the work, with Mike Conley and Jeff Green also getting a bump in value. The Grizzlies take on the Rockets tonight in Memphis.
Ricky Rubio confirmed starter Friday
Ricky Rubio was not 100% coming into tonight’s game and was just officially ruled in as the starter. The Timberwolves host the Detriot Pistons and will need Rubio’s defense on Reggie Jackson. Rubio has been playing well lately, but Jackson is a stout defender as well. Andrew Wiggins is the elite option from the T’Wolves with Karl Anthony-Towns having to face Andre Drummond.

Pelicans starting lineup tonight will be SF Alonzo Gee; PF Anthony Davis, C Omer Asik, SG Eric Gordon, PG Jrue Holiday. Omer Asik was struggling through warmups so his conditioning is a concern. Alexis Ajinca will likely back him and could play over 20 minutes. Eric Gordon loses a bunch of shots and value with Holiday and Davis returning.

The early season magic has worn off on Bjelica, as he’s come crashing back to earth over his past few games. He’ll get an opportunity to rest tonight with some combination of Shabazz Muhammad and Adreian Payne eating up the 20 or so minutes he’s been getting. There is no real DFS beneficiary here.

Robert Covington starting ahead of Noel on Friday
Robert Covington was announced the starter by the 76ers after the lineups locked. Nerlens Noel will likely still see about 25 minutes off the bench, but loses value with the demotion. The 76ers were trying to match the small ball lineup of the Hornets with this move.

Ginobili’s absence should clear the way for more minutes for Patty Mills. Danny Green and Rasual Butler also may see a slight uptick in playing time, but neither operate as ball-handlers so it’s likely that Mills (and possibly Tony Parker) pick up most of the time left by Manu. Ginobili will play tomorrow.

Alvin Gentry, the Pelicans coach said that Anthony Davis will be starting tonight against the Spurs. Davis is a risky GPP option with so many other studs available. The Spurs are a strong defensive team and will try to shut down Davis tonight. Davis is a concern for re-injury so playing him can lead to extreme tilt, or extreme happiness because he will be low-owned.

Assuming Z-Bo can’t go, look for JaMychal Green to start and see a nice uptick in playing time. Green has seen his minutes rise with Brandan Wright out of the lineup, and he’s actually seen some time at center in smaller lineups. He’s at or near minimum price across the industry, and he’d be in play in any format if Randolph sits. Marc Gasol would also get a slight bump in value as a result. We’ll update you on Randolph when we have more information.

Kevin Durant has been officially ruled out for Friday’s contest against the Knicks. Anthony Morrow will likely get the start again, but he is not much of a DFS option. Russell Westbrook remains the elite option and should dominate against the Knicks at home. Look for Serge Ibaka to guard Kristaps Porzingis.

Looks like Anthony Davis will be playing tonight against the Spurs. Davis has a tough matchup and is coming off an injury. With his price at $10.7K on DK and $10.8k on FD, Davis is an extremely risky DFS option. He will likely be under-owned and would make for the highest ceiling contrarian play. He could exit the game if he gets re-injured, or get benched if the Spurs blow them out, so playing Anthony Davis tonight is like playing with fire. Omer Asik has also been listed as probable and will likely start at the center position with Davis at power forward.

Avery Bradley will come off the bench again on Friday night against the Nets. Isaiah Thomas and Marcus Smart will start again in the backcourt. Thomas and Bradley were the ones to get over 30 minutes in their last game, so look for more of the same tonight. Bradley is a solid DFS option with Thomas being the best option in the Celtics backcourt.
