CIN WR Trent Taylor elevated from practice squad for Super Bowl
Trent Taylor has been elevated from the practice squad for the Super Bowl. Taylor is expected to continue to serve as the Bengals punt returner. Aside from returning punts, Taylor will serve as receiver depth and is not expected to play much of a role for DFS purposes. Outside of a punt return touchdown, there is no reason to consider Taylor in your Super Bowl showdown lineups.
As reported by: Ben BabyCIN TE C.J. Uzomah officially listed questionable, but considered "on track" to play in Super Bowl
C.J. Uzomah has officially been listed questionable but is considered “on track” to play in the Super Bowl according to HC Zac Taylor. Uzomah continues to be trending in the right direction to play this weekend, and will likely return to his role as the top tight end for the Bengals. If active, he would be worthy of consideration in DFS formats due to his touchdown upside on the showdown slate. If he were unable to play, Drew Sample would be set to see the bulk of the tight end work with Mitchell Wilcox available to back him up and play in two tight end sets. It will be important to check Uzomah’s official status when inactives are released 90 minutes prior to kickoff on Sunday but all indications are that he should be good to go.
As reported by: Nicki JhabvalaLAR TE Tyler Higbee placed on IR; RB Darrell Henderson activated from IR ahead of Super Bowl
Tyler Higbee has been placed on IR, while Darrell Henderson has been activated from IR ahead of the Super Bowl. WIth Higbee now officially out, Kendall Blanton will serve as the lead tight end for the Rams with Brycen Hopkins available to back him up and play in two tight end sets. DK has priced Blanton up after he played a significant portion of the snaps in the conference championship so there is no real value to be gained here. Blanton will still be worthy of consideration as he should be involved in the passing game for Los Angeles and has touchdown upside. Darrell Henderson should be available this Sunday, but will likely only play a minor role in the Los Angeles backfield. HC Sean McVay stated that he would be willing to ride the hot hand at running back but it is tough to imagine a scenario where Henderson overtakes both Cam Akers and Sony Michel within the course of the game. Right now, Akers is expected to lead the backfield with Michel mixing in as he is the better back when it comes to pass protection. Henderson is the best receiving back of the three and could be used that way. Akers and Michel project to be the top backs in the backfield but if 150 max entering it wouldn’t hurt to have a few shares of Henderson who could catch a few passes and fall into the endzone.
As reported by: Los Angeles Rams Other tagged players: Darrell HendersonLAR TE Tyler Higbee DNP Wednesday
Tyler Higbee logged a DNP Wednesday and still seems unlikely to play this weekend after being listed as doubtful on the injury report released last week by the Los Angeles Rams. With Higbee likely out, Kendall Blanton will serve as the lead tight end for the Rams with Brycen Hopkins available to back him up and play in two tight end sets. DK has priced Blanton up after he played a significant portion of the snaps in the conference championship so there is no real value to be gained here. Blanton will still be worthy of consideration as he should be involved in the passing game for Los Angeles and has touchdown upside.
As reported by: Brady HendersonCIN TE C.J. Uzomah DNP Wednesday but expected to return to practice tomorrow
C.J. Uzomah logged a DNP Wednesday but is expected to return to practice tomorrow ahead of the Bengals Super Bowl matchup with the Los Angeles Rams. Uzomah continues to be trending in the right direction to play this weekend, and will likely return to his role as the top tight end for the Bengals. He would be worthy of consideration in DFS formats due to his touchdown upside on the showdown slate. If he were unable to play, Drew Sample would be set to see the bulk of the tight end work with Mitchell Wilcox available to back him up and play in two tight end sets. It will be important to monitor Uzomah’s practice status as the week progresses but right now it looks like he should be good to go in time for this Sunday.
As reported by: Jay MorrisonLAR TE Tyler Higbee listed doubtful for Super Bowl; RB Cam Akers and WR Van Jefferson listed questionable
Tyler Higbee has been listed doubtful for the Super Bowl, while Cam Akers and Van Jefferson have been listed questionable. With Higbee likely out, Kendall Blanton will serve as the lead tight end for the Rams with Brycen Hopkins available to back him up and play in two tight end sets. Both Cam Akers and Van Jefferson are expected to be available as HC Sean McVay only expressed concern for Higbee’s availability. Akers should serve as the lead back with Sony Michel and the possibly returning Darrell Henderson also mixing in. Jefferson should continue to serve as the third receiver for the Rams behind Cooper Kupp and Odell Beckham Jr.
As reported by: Brady Henderson Other tagged players: Cam Akers, Van JeffersonCIN TE C.J. Uzomah and WR Stanley Morgan listed questionable for Super Bowl
C.J. Uzomah and Stanley Morgan have both been listed questionable for the Super Bowl. We are over a week out from the Super Bowl but Uzomah has yet to practice for the Bengals making his status for next Sunday’s game highly questionable. If he were unable to play Drew Sample would be set to see the bulk of the tight end work, with Mitchell Wilcox available to back him up and play in two tight end sets. Stanley Morgan, if available, would serve as receiver depth for Cincinnati.
As reported by: Paul Dehner Jr. Other tagged players: Stanley MorganLAR WR Van Jefferson ACTIVE Sunday; TE Brycen Hopkins inactive
Van Jefferson will be active Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, while Brycen Hopkins will be inactive. Jefferson is expected to remain in his role as the third receiver for the Rams behind Cooper Kupp and Odell Beckham Jr. Jefferson has the potential to break a big lay but shouldn’t see anywhere close to the volume of targets that Kupp and Beckham have enjoyed over the course of the playoffs. Hopkins was expected to serve as tight end depth for the Rams so his absence should not be DFS relevant.
As reported by: Gary Klein Other tagged players: Brycen HopkinsSFO RB Jeff Wilson and WR Mohamed Sanu inactive Sunday
Jeff Wilson and Mohamed Sanu have been listed inactive for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams. Wilson’s role has all but dried up in the San Francisco backfield so his absence this weekend will not be very relevant for DFS players. Elijah Mitchell will be set to lead the backfield with Deebo Samuel, JaMycal Hasty, and Trey Sermon also available to mix in. Mitchell can be considered in DFS contests this weekend due to expected volume. Sanu will be inactive after being activated from IR earlier this week, leading to questions if he was actually ready to be taken off IR. Without Sane, Trent Sherfield will move up into the number four receiver role behind Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, and Jauan Jennings.
As reported by: Nick Wagoner Other tagged players: Mohamed SanuKCC RB Darrel Williams ACTIVE Sunday; RB Derrick Gore inactive
Darrel Williams will be active Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals leading to the healthy scratch of Derrick Gore. The Chiefs will have Williams, Jerick McKinnon, and Clyde Edwards-Helaire available to use in what could be a high-scoring game. Over the past couple of weeks it seems as though McKinnon has taken over the lead back role for Kansas City with CEH as a complimentary piece, though it remains to be seen what HC Andy Reid elects to do today. Williams could play a role today in the passing game if the Chiefs are trailing and need to put up some points in a hurry. The Kansas City backfield has been frustrating for DFS players so far this postseason and could continue to be this way today. It might be best to spread your exposure out between all available backs until a clear depth chart emerges.
As reported by: Adam Teicher Other tagged players: Derrick GoreCIN RB Trayveon Williams, WR Stanley Morgan, and WR Trenton Irwin listed inactive Sunday
Trayveon Williams, Stanley Morgan, and Trenton Irwin have all been listed inactive for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. All players were expected to serve as depth pieces and their absences should not be considered DFS relevant.
As reported by: Marisa Contipelli Other tagged players: Stanley Morgan, Trenton IrwinSFO RB Jeff Wilson (ankle) listed questionable for Sunday
Jeff Wilson (ankle) has been listed questionable for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams. Wilson’s role has all but dried up in the San Francisco backfield so his potential absence this weekend would not be very relevant for DFS players. Elijah Mitchell (who was left off the injury report) will be set to lead the backfield with Deebo Samuel and JaMycal Hasty also available to mix in. Mitchell can be considered in DFS contests this weekend due to expected volume.
As reported by: Matt MaioccoCIN WR Stanley Morgan (hamstring) listed doubtful for Sunday
Stanley Morgan (hamstring) has been listed doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Morgan was expected to serve as receiver depth if available so his likely absence will have little to no DFS ramifications. The top receiving targets for Joe Burrow remain Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd, and C.J. Uzomah.
As reported by: Kelsey ConwayKCC RB Darrel Williams (toe) listed questionable for Sunday
Darrel Williams (toe) has bee listed questionable for Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Williams logged a full practice Wednesday and was able to finish out the week with two limited practices leading to his questionable designation. HC Andy Reid expressed optimism regarding Williams suiting up this weekend, though it remains to be seen what sort of role he would have in the Chiefs backfield with the emergence of Jerick McKinnon. Right now, the expectation is that McKinnon would slightly lead the backfield in a split with Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Williams, if available, would likely mix in and see some passing down work. The Chiefs backfield remains one of the bigger question marks left in the playoffs so it will be important to mix exposures to members in DFS contests.
As reported by: Kansas City ChiefsLAR WR Van Jefferson (knee) to be listed questionable for Sunday
Van Jefferson (knee) is expected to be listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. Jefferson has been dealing with a knee injury for the past week and originally was thought to just need some extra rest which is why he didn’t practice Wednesday. McVay has had a history of being overly optimistic when it comes to injuries this season so it will be important to monitor inactives when they are released on Sunday 90 minutes prior to kickoff. Jefferson has seen his role steadily decrease as Odell Beckham Jr. has taken over the number two receiver role behind Cooper Kupp, but if Jefferson were to be ruled out Ben Skowronek would step into the wide receiver three role. Skowronek would not be expected to see enough volume to be considered in most formats but could be considered as a low owned punt option if absolutely necessary.
