NYG WR Kadarius Toney expected to sit Sunday, unlikely to be placed on IR
Toney is expected to miss Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers due to an ankle injury reaggravation. Currently, the expectation is that he won’t be placed on the I.R., but that isn’t official yet. With no Toney, Sterling Shepard will get all the targets he can handle, while Darius Slayton and Kenny Golladay’s statuses will be determined later in the week.
As reported by: Ralph Vacchiano via TwitterCLE WR Odell Beckham Jr. DNP Tuesday; QB Baker Mayfield limited
OBJ was listed as a DNP Tuesday, his second straight ahead of the Browns game against the Broncos Thursday. Mayfield was listed as limited, although he’s fully expected to start despite the limitation. The passing game may take on a bigger piece with the Browns so shorthanded in the run game, so OBJ’s potential absence looms large. If he sits, it’ll be more work for Donovan Peoples-Jones and Rashard Higgins.
As reported by: Mary Kay Cabot via Twitter Other tagged players: Baker MayfieldCLE RB Nick Chubb ruled out Thursday
Coach Stefanski gave an update to Nick Chubb, and declared him out due to his knee injury. The short week certainly didn’t help matters for the Browns, as they play on Thursday against the Denver Broncos. With no Kareem Hunt either, the Browns will be playing with a perilously thin running back room. D’Ernest Johnson will get the start for the team, and profiles as a poor man’s Chubb; he’s likely to handle all the early downs and short distance carries. Meanwhile, Demetric Felton will likely be the change of pace back; he’s lined up more as a wide receiver on the year, but out of necessity may have to play more passing downs as the RB. John Kelly was elevated from the practice squad and will likely be active as the third RB, but likely won’t play a large role. We’ll wait to see if there’s any more news that comes out, but Johnson has been told he’s the “starter” for the team.
As reported by: Jake Trotter via TwitterCLE RB Kareem Hunt officially placed on IR; RB John Kelly elevated to active roster
As expected, Hunt was officially placed on I.R, and will miss the next three games for the Browns. John Kelly was activated from the practice squad and should be the third RB behind D’Ernest Johnson and Demetric Felton.
As reported by: Adam Schefter via Twitter Other tagged players: John KellyTEN WR Josh Reynolds inactive Monday
The Titans made Josh Reynolds a healthy scratch, a worrisome sign for his future with the team. The Titans have six wide receivers active; A.J. Brown and Julio Jones are the top two, with Marcus Johnson and Chester Rogers as backups. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Cameron Batson may play an occasional snap as well. Also, Jeremy McNichols was officially listed as active.
As reported by: Doug Kyed via Twitter Other tagged players: Cameron BatsonTEN WR A.J. Brown (illness) will play Monday
Brown was a scary add to the injury report with an illness yesterday, which is always worrisome. However, Glennon has reported that Brown will be available and play tonight against the Buffalo Bills. He’ll be one of the Titans top two wide receivers, as Julio Jones will complement him after missing the last two games with a hamstring injury.
As reported by: John Glennon via TwitterTEN FB Tory Carter elevated to roster Monday; RB Darrynton Evans remains on IR and will not play
Ahead of the Titans MNF game, there were a few transactions that would marginally affect the showdown slate. Carter was elevated to the gameday roster, which is a likely sign that their regular fullback, Khari Blasingame, will sit; he’s currently listed questionable. Evans was not elevated from the I.R., so he will not make his season debut yet. Jeremy McNichols is listed as questionable, but likely will remain the backup RB assuming he is active.
As reported by: John Glennon via Twitter Other tagged players: Darrynton Evans, Khari BlasingameCLE RB Kareem Hunt (calf) expected to miss 4-6 weeks
After being the chalk this past week with an injured Nick Chubb, Hunt suffered a calf injury of his own and will be placed on IR soon, as the Browns will play on Thursday Night Football against the Denver Broncos. Chubb has not been ruled out yet, but with a short week, it’s tough to envision him playing, leaving the Browns perilously thin at RB. D’Ernest Johnson would be the next man up, and depending on his showdown price may be viable with not much competition beside him. Demetric Felton is another option, although he’s played 90% of his snaps at WR instead of RB. The Browns also may sign someone else to provide depth, but the short notice game really throws a wrench and makes Johnson likely the “workhorse”.
As reported by: Ian Rapaport via TwitterSEA TE Tyler Mabry inactive Sunday
Tyler Mabry will be inactive for Sunday Night Football when the Seahawks are set to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mabry was not expected to play much of a role tonight and would have been the Seahawks 4th tight end. Seattle will elect to only have three tonight Gerald Everett, Will Dissly, and Colby Parkinson. Everett is expected to see the bulk of the snaps with Dissly playing in two tight end sets.
As reported by: Seattle SeahawksTEN WR A.J. Brown (illness) now questionable for Monday
A.J. Brown is a late addition to the injury report for Monday with an illness. He is currently listed as questionable so it will be important to monitor his status when inactives come out tomorrow. If Brown is unable to suit up, The returning Julio Jones will be the primary receiver with Chester Rogers (also questionable) or Marcus Johnson lining up opposite him. The Titans receiving corps will likely be in store for a lot of work (and all members would see a boost to their value if Brown is ruled out) as they will most likely be playing from behind against the Buffalo Bills.
As reported by: Turron DavenportNEP RB Damien Harris officially active Sunday; RB J.J. Taylor inactive
As expected, Damien Harris is officially active Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys while J.J. Taylor will be inactive. Harris should see the majority of the carries in the Patriots committee with Rhamondre Stevenson and Brandon Bolden also slated to see some touches. Due to the committee approach it is advised to avoid the New England backfield in DFS contests.
As reported by: Mike Reiss Other tagged players: J.J. TaylorLVR RB Peyton Barber inactive Sunday
Peyton Barber will be inactive Sunday when the Raiders are set to take on the Denver Broncos. Josh Jacobs and Kenyan Drake should handle the bulk of the running back snaps with Jalen Richard also available. Jacobs will likely serve as the lead back with Drake mixing in on passing downs. With a split backfield, a new coach, and a tough matchup against the Denver Broncos defense it is best to look elsewhere in DFS contests today.
As reported by: Las Vegas RaidersDAL RB Ezekiel Elliott officially active Sunday
As expected, Ezekiel Elliott officially will be active Sunday against the New England Patriots. Ezekiel Elliott should see a healthy workload in a game that the Cowboys should be leading. We have no reason to believe this, but if Elliott were to be limited in any way Tony Pollard would handle some extra carries and has proven to be a serviceable backup.
As reported by: Dallas Cowboys PRDEN RB Melvin Gordon active Sunday; WR David Moore inactive
As expected, Melvin Gordon will be active Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders. Somewhat of a surprise is that David Moore will be inactive. Moore has been serving as the Broncos third wide receiver but with the recent addition of John Brown his spot might have been taken. It remains to be seen how much run Brown gets as he has only been with the team for about a week but ultimately this shouldn’t have too much of an impact in DFS contests. Courtland Sutton and Tim Patrick are the top receivers for the Broncos and the only ones worth considering playing at this point.
As reported by: Denver Broncos Other tagged players: David MooreCLE RB Kareem Hunt active Sunday
Kareem Hunt officially active for Sunday when the Browns are set to take on the Arizona Cardinals. Kareem Hunt is expected to be in store for a massive workload with Nick Chubb already ruled out despite dealing with a couple of injuries of his own. Coach Stefanski did mention that they might try to limit Hunt a bit because the Browns play again on Thursday but it remains to be seen if this will happen with no trusted backup for Hunt as of now (D’Ernest Johnson and Demetric Felton seem to be the most likely candidates). Hunt projects to be one of the best plays on the slate and should be considered in all formats.
