Gabriel Davis will try warming up pregame, but there is a good chance he is out today

Gabriel Davis will try warming up pregame, but there is a good chance he is out today. Kenny Stills was called up from the practice squad yesterday, and has reportedly gotten a lot of Davis’ work this week in practice. If Davis is ruled out, expect Stills to get some work, his first work with the Bills this season.

Sammy Watkins

Baltimore Ravens
1/24/21, 11:38 AM ET

Sammy Watkins still a game-time decision, but Chiefs reportedly not optimistic he will play

Sammy Watkins is still a game-time decision, but the Chiefs are reportedly not optimistic he will play. Both Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter have now mentioned the lack of optimism, so it sounds like Watkins is closer to doubtful than questionable for today. That would be a boost to the WRs behind Tyreek Hill, specifically Mecole Hardman, Demarcus Robinson and Byron Pringle.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire

Kansas City Chiefs
1/24/21, 9:57 AM ET

Clyde Edwards-Helaire reportedly will play today, while Le'Veon Bell is expected to be out. Sammy Watkins is a game-time decision

Clyde Edwards-Helaire reportedly will play today, while Le’Veon Bell is expected to be out. That should mean Darrel Williams, who worked effectively last week as the top back, should get some of the RB work along with the returning Edwards-Helaire. Sammy Watkins is a game-time decision, although Adam Schefter also reported that the Chiefs aren’t optimistic he will play. Ian Rapoport did not report that, and for now, he should still be considered a GTD, but his status must be confirmed when inactives are released.

Kenny Stills elevated by Bills to active roster from practice squad

Kenny Stills has been elevated by the Bills to their active roster from the practice squad. While Stills could still end up inactive tomorrow, this elevation acts as insurance for the Bills in case Gabriel Davis is not able to play.

Taysom Hill

New Orleans Saints
1/17/21, 6:19 PM ET

Taysom Hill and Latavius Murray both inactive

Taysom Hill and Latavius Murray are both inactive, confirming earlier reports. Expect Alvin Kamara and Drew Brees to both benefit from Hill being out, while Dwayne Washington and Ty Montgomery will handle the limited work available at RB behind Kamara.

Ronald Jones is active today, although Leonard Fournette has already been announced as the starter. Ke’Shawn Vaughn is inactive today, meaning LeSean McCoy will be active, likely working as the third RB.

As reported by: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Other tagged players: Leonard Fournette, Ke'Shawn Vaughn, LeSean McCoy

David Njoku

Los Angeles Chargers
1/17/21, 2:52 PM ET

David Njoku active today

David Njoku is active today, along with TE Stephen Carlson, giving the Browns four active TEs. Austin Hooper will be the top option of the group, Njoku and Harrison Bryant will also get some passing game work, while Carlson should be expected to mainly be a special teams player.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire

Kansas City Chiefs
1/17/21, 2:57 PM ET

Clyde Edwards-Helaire officially inactive today

Clyde Edwards-Helaire is officially inactive today, as expected based on earlier reports. Le’Veon Bell and Darrel Williams are likely to split the work, with Darwin Thompson the third RB. Williams got more work Week 16, the last game the Chiefs’ starters played, while Bell got more work back in Week 13, the other game that Clyde Edwards-Helaire missed.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire

Kansas City Chiefs
1/17/21, 1:26 PM ET

Clyde Edwards-Helaire reportedly will not play today

Clyde Edwards-Helaire reportedly will not play today, taking a step further the earlier reports that he was unlikely to play. His status should be confirmed when inactives are released 90 minutes before kickoff, but for now the assumption should be the Edwards-Helaire misses another week.

As reported by: Adam Schefter Other tagged players: Darrel Williams, Le'Veon Bell

Clyde Edwards-Helaire

Kansas City Chiefs
1/17/21, 10:54 AM ET

Clyde Edwards-Helaire reportedly unlikely to play

Clyde Edwards-Helaire is reportedly unlikely to play, which would be his third straight game missed, and would leave Le’Veon Bell and Darrel Williams as the top RB options for the Chiefs. The work is likely to be split fairly evenly, with Bell getting more work throughout the season, but Williams getting more work Week 16, the last game the Chiefs played their starters.

As reported by: Ian Rapoport Other tagged players: Le'Veon Bell, Darrel Williams

Taysom Hill

New Orleans Saints
1/17/21, 10:13 AM ET

Taysom Hill, Latavius Murray both reportedly not likely to play

Taysom Hill and Latavius Murray are both reportedly not likely to play today for the Saints. The absence of Hill is a boost for both Drew Brees and the running backs, as Hill often vultures TDs from both. If Murray is out, the Saints have Dwayne Washington and Ty Montgomery as the RBs behind Alvin Kamara. Neither received consistent work throughout the season. Washington got slightly more work the first 16 weeks, while Montgomery had a 100-yard rushing game during Week 17 (when the Saints were without their top-3 RBs).

As reported by: Ian Rapoport Other tagged players: Latavius Murray, Drew Brees, Ty Montgomery, Dwayne Washington, Alvin Kamara

Mark Ingram

New Orleans Saints
1/16/21, 7:50 PM ET

Mark Ingram officially inactive, as expected

Mark Ingram is officially inactive, as expected from earlier reports. Justice Hill will be the third RB, although he is mainly a special teams contributor.

Tre'Quan Smith

Detroit Lions
1/16/21, 6:20 PM ET

Tre’Quan Smith activated off of IR

Tre’Quan Smith was activated Saturday off of IR, making him eligible to play on Sunday. The Saints are finally getting healthy at WR after a season full of injuries at the position. It will be worth confirming tomorrow that Smith is actually active for the game, but that seems like the plan, barring a setback.

As reported by: New Orleans Saints Other tagged players: Drew Brees, Deonte Harty, Marquez Callaway

Cooper Kupp

Seattle Seahawks
1/16/21, 4:26 PM ET

Cooper Kupp inactive today

Cooper Kupp is officially inactive today, which clearly boosts WRs Van Jefferson and Josh Reynolds significantly. Robert Woods could see an increased target share as the clear number 1 option, but he will also face increased focus from the defense. TEs Tyler Higbee and Gerald Everett should also see increased roles, although all the passing game options are dependent on Jared Goff and his injured thumb playing effectively.

As reported by: Peter Schrager Other tagged players: Jared Goff, Robert Woods, Josh Reynolds, Van Jefferson

Mark Ingram

New Orleans Saints
1/16/21, 12:05 PM ET

Mark Ingram will be inactive tonight

Mark Ingram will reportedly be a healthy inactive tonight for the Ravens, meaning Justice Hill will work as the third RB. Ingram was also inactive last week, so this news is not surprising at all. It appears that Ingram will be a healthy inactive the rest of the season, barring an injury to a RB ahead of him on the depth chart.
