Dawson Knox 2021 Fantasy Outlook
Per RotoGrinders NFL player projections, Dawson Knox is expected to be the fantasy TE28. He’s being drafted on Underdog Fantasy as TE28 at pick 214, compared to his RotoGrinders ranking of 212 as of July. We currently expect a 8% target share which amounts to a projection of 54 targets (Rank 28) and 353 receiving yards (Rank 28) during the 17 week fantasy season.
The Bills did not often look the to TE a season ago, opting instead to target wide receivers a whopping 74.56% of the time. That left just a paltry share for Knox and the TE group, and we’re projecting something similar in 2021. The upside is of course a more traditional share of targets to the TE with Knox being the primary benefactor, but that’s not something to place big bets on. He’s a late round dart throw at best and a Hail-Mary mega field YOLO in DFS GPPs.
Devin Singletary 2021 Fantasy Outlook
Per RotoGrinders NFL player projections, Devin Singletary is expected to be the fantasy RB43. He’s being drafted on Underdog Fantasy as RB46 at pick 148, compared to his RotoGrinders ranking of 149 as of Late July. We currently expect 419 yards rushing during the first 17 weeks (Rank 45) with a 25% share of team carries. We also expect a 6% target share which amounts to a projection of 39 targets (Rank 33) and 195 receiving yards (Rank 38).
There is some hype coming out of Bills camp about their 24 year old back, and the ADP seems to be exceptionally low. One look at his price and there is some level of enthusiasm for his upside. However, the projections are low to match the price because of the offensive scheme and split duty scenario with Zack Moss. He played all 16 games last season and still only managed 2 TDs on one of the leagues best offenses, which is a function of his lack of involvement in the red zone. There are outs for him to be useful in fantasy football, but he’s hardly a sure thing even at the bargain basement ADP.
Gabriel Davis 2021 Fantasy Outlook
Per RotoGrinders NFL player projections, Gabriel Davis is expected to be the fantasy WR65. He’s being drafted on Underdog Fantasy as WR59 at pick 121, compared to his RotoGrinders ranking of 129 as of Late July. We currently expect a 13% target share which amounts to a projection of 85 targets (Rank 70) and 642 receiving yards (Rank 67) during the 17 week fantasy season.
The projections are more bearish on Davis than the industry at large, but that doesn’t mean he’s a dead cat. He figures to be the second outside receiver on an offense that will line up four wide more than almost anyone. The concentration of targets to Stefon Diggs coupled with the very high level ability of the two slot options should keep his overall opportunities in check, but injury or good fortune could easily catapult his value into a range that far exceeds his draft cost. At the moment, he’s a bit over priced but you should stay vigilant in drafts where he slips below his typical ADP.
Emmanuel Sanders 2021 Fantasy Outlook
Per RotoGrinders NFL player projections, Emmanuel Sanders is expected to be the fantasy WR63. He’s being drafted on Underdog Fantasy as WR66 at pick 140, compared to his RotoGrinders ranking of 123 as of Late July. We currently expect a 14% target share which amounts to a projection of 87 targets (Rank 65) and 643 receiving yards (Rank 66) during the 17 week fantasy season.
The real life football fit for this offseason acquisition is probably more meaningful than the fantasy impact. Depending on formation, Sanders should be sliding in and out of the slot this season with Gabriel Davis playing outside. This will leave his target share at a mediocre level as he competes with multiple options in 4WR sets, though his chance at deep ball efficiency is still enticing even at his advanced age. The upgrade at quarterback from an ancient Drew Brees to Josh Allen should prove to be his best chance at fantasy relevance since Peyton Manning was actually throwing him spirals. Its nothing to get excited about, but drafting Sanders in later rounds at his ADP is acceptable.
Cole Beasley 2021 Fantasy Outlook
Per RotoGrinders NFL player projections, Cole Beasley is expected to be the fantasy WR62. He’s being drafted on Underdog Fantasy as WR63 at pick 132, compared to his RotoGrinders ranking of 122 as of Late July. We currently expect a 14% target share which amounts to a projection of 91 targets (Rank 62) and 654 receiving yards (Rank 61) during the 17 week fantasy season.
The Bills replaced John Brown with Emmanuel Sanders, who is a player much more inclined to line up in the slot and potentially cannibalize targets previously reserved for Beasley. The overall impact of this is mild, and we still project Beasley as a run-rate filler option in best ball who is more valuable than most people give him credit for. The offense in Buffalo is expected to be pass heavy, and should be capable of supporting more than one weekly success story each time they take the field. Beasley should capture enough to enter your bestball lineup on several occasions, and “spike” once or twice along the way.
Zack Moss 2021 Fantasy Outlook
Per RotoGrinders NFL player projections, Zack Moss is expected to be the fantasy RB37. He’s being drafted on Underdog Fantasy as RB34 at pick 105, compared to his RotoGrinders ranking of 107 as of Late July. We currently expect 520 yards rushing during the first 17 weeks (Rank 39) with a 33% share of team carries. We also expect a 5% target share which amounts to a projection of 32 targets (Rank 44) and 185 receiving yards (Rank 41).
The Bills don’t have a solid commitment to their rushing attack, and perhaps even worse have a firm commitment to their quarterback in the red zone. It makes life for a player like Moss difficult from a fantasy perspective, and the split duty responsibility with Devin Singletary and Matt Breida make it even worse. RotoGrinders projections are not far from the consensus, and you can speculate at a low price without much risk. Anything can happen in an 18 game season, but Moss will need some fortunate circumstances to blow out his draft stock.
Josh Allen 2021 Fantasy Outlook
Per RotoGrinders NFL player projections, Josh Allen is expected to be the fantasy QB2. He’s being drafted on Underdog Fantasy as QB2 at pick 50, compared to his RotoGrinders ranking of 47 as of Late July. We currenty expect 4730 passing yards (Rank 2) and 32 passing touchdowns (Rank 2) during the 17 week fantasy season. We also expect 442 yards rushing (Rank 4) with a 27% share of team rush attempts.
The fantasy world has long awaited a Konami code quarterback who is also operating as an elite passer, and that is precisely what we have with Josh Allen. Physically gifted with upper percentile SPARQ athletic traits and a laser-rocket-arm, Allen is entirely capable of ending your opponents week with both his legs and electrifying passing ability. The Bills did not invest at all in improving their run game, and have all but spelled out a 2021 season that rests solely on the performance of the passing game. For fantasy football, you truly do love to see it. QB1 is located within a massive portion of his range of outcomes.
Stefon Diggs 2021 Fantasy Outlook
Per RotoGrinders NFL player projections, Stefon Diggs is expected to be the fantasy WR1. He’s being drafted on Underdog Fantasy as WR2 at pick 10, compared to his RotoGrinders ranking of 8 as of Late July. We currently expect a 27% target share which amounts to a projection of 175 targets (Rank 2) and 1526 receiving yards (Rank 1) during the 17 week fantasy season.
Diggs erupted in Buffalo last season to the tune of 1535 yards and 8 touchdowns, and the writing is on the wall for yet another monster season. Josh Allen demonstrated the upside in his profile in 2020, which is seemingly tailor made for the elite skills of Diggs both down the field and in the intermediate zones. If we see anywhere close to the QB we saw taking the Bills a few big breaks away from the Super Bowl, then Diggs is primed to have a chance to be the fantasy WR1 and dominate DFS.
Brandin Cooks 2021 Fantasy Outlook
Per RotoGrinders NFL player projections, Brandin Cooks is expected to be the fantasy WR37. He’s being drafted on Underdog Fantasy as WR45 at pick 88, compared to his RotoGrinders ranking of 69 as of Late July. We currently expect a 21% target share which amounts to a projection of 119 targets (Rank 31) and 901 receiving yards (Rank 33) during the 17 week fantasy season.
The Texans are a dumpster fire if Deshaun Watson is unable to play, and that directly impacts our opinion of Cooks. They are likely to be without their embattled superstar QB, and thus Cooks is expected to perform significantly worse than a season ago. Most drafters are even lower on Cooks than the RotoGrinders projections, with his ADP lagging behind our ranking by ay least 10 receivers. He’s a player with a 1,000 yard season on his resume with 4 different primary QBs, and our projections would have him within range of a 5th. If you wanted to bet purely on talent, Cooks could be a modest value in the middle rounds of drafts.
